But you do need a special artifact to dominate (and thus ride) them though, and there's only 2 of those in all of wurm (afaik)

Afaik the difficulty was just raised to the point where the artifacts are needed, and even then its not easy. Mountable wise, no idea atm.

what it doesnt tell you is that almost anything else you can ride its very slow compared to horses,so riding a crocodile sounds fun,until you go try it.

Even with artifacts they're massively hard to dominate.

As for crocs, they are slow but they are portable land boats. You can surf them bad boys.
