Are we wasting our time trying to build boats now?  We can't seem to find any combination of components that lets you create a boat.

Have you changed your password since the last time you logged onto the test server?  If so try your old password if you still know it.  Otherwise just make a random new guy.

Seems like shipbuilding will  be a challenge... we have anchors, pegs, ropes, hull planks, all kinds of things!!! Seems this will be a really really good feature in terms of the ammount of new stuff it brings.

Bug: When you die while commanding the boat (havent tried dying as a passenger though) your corpse will appear below the boat which is normal, but a model of you will also be stuck on the boat and no one else can enter the boat as the commander.

I think boats should be faster too. Increase the rowing boat speed by 25-35% and sailing boat by 50-75%. The stop & go-motion shouldn't be applied to the sailing boat aswell imo (bug?). It should have a constant speed (maybe acceleration and wind affecting it though)

EDIT: Might have been mentioned earlier, but hurting status and armour slows down boats too. Also if you're out of stamina the boat will go slower.

rolf is working on the boat speed so they will be faster eventually.

It's not like Rolf is sitting down and redesigning the boats so that they'll be more aerodynamic. All he has to do is tweak a little variable.

Yes, Rolf said before that the speed on boats havent been done yet if I remember correctly. (Not exact words)

I hope the larger ships will be as hard to build as a colossus, so when an enemy ship is stolen/destroyed it's a huge blow, and they won't just build another one in a couple of hours.

I would prefer complicated to hard. For instance, if you are making a keel, it should take you a while, not fail completely

And it should take a lot of materials - a caravel should take 20 oak trees really, or more.

Masts should be a "Very old" oak, that sort of thing.

And loads of ropes! I don't know how much rope in the rigging of a caravel, but it must have been a substantial yardage!

And of course, you cant set sail without a concertina!

there horrifying to make actually. even after i was given 50 carp and 50 ship buildings id say its still about 90% failure rate at attaching. collosus are a peice of cake compared to boats.
