Heads on a Pike

it seems like on a unbutchered body they could easly add if you use a saw on it you can collect the head and combine it with a shaft and then insert it into the ground the decay rate could be high all i care but simple fact of having it would be an amazing thing.

After a head decays, it should become a skull on a spike with a much slower decay rate.

Everything needs a decay rate, keeps the place clean.

And if you're implying skulls don't decay, they do - just really slowly. If completely exposed to air and weather above ground, bone could decompose in under ten years. Additionally, the wooden spike it was skewered on would decay. Ten Wurm years would be about fourteen Earth months.

Could use the same mechanic as graves, but use a pike done with carving knife on a shaft, high decay, but you can remember the enemies you've slain.

Decay is ok if it's like lamp decay, but not the skull vanishing suddenly.

Because real life is the best place to acquire information about how worlds and laws of nature actually work. Since Wurm looks and behaves mostly like you'd expect a world to behave, then it is apparent this game is not intended to be a parody of reality. If not intended as a joke on physics, then it should adhere to the concept of suspension of disbelief, which is based on reality as we perceive it.

Real life should be used as a foundation for any game that wants to be taken seriously. This foundation can be tweaked to form a new world, but the farther you get from the place of origin, the more ridiculous you become and people will start inventing stupid words like 'wogic' to describe the absurdity. It is shameful, in my opinion, to want Wurm to embrace 'wogic' rather than attempt to avoid invoking it as much as possible, unless you want Wurm to become a game nobody will ever take seriously.

If real bone takes ten years to decay, then that seems like a perfect starting place. Game mechanics, balance, or other such issues can then move that time frame in either direction. If there is no reason to not make bone decay at a rate consistent with reality, why not make it decay at a rate consistent with reality?

Irl i would be dead, bear would have two meals.
