A couple of suggestions

Recommended Posts

Here's a couple of suggestions that I and some others were discussing in Global.

New items for example a decoration that can be used in houses like a Chinese folding partition or a glass wall.  Something besides walls to add to the empty space in between on houses would be nice.

Paintings to hang on walls or even a chalkboard to add lists and menus in game for the house. Cabinets for kitchens or even just for "looks" to make a home seem like a real home.

Bookcases to put books in that players could create, trade, and sell.

Making a real use for those table and chairs, sitting down to eat or drink would increase a particular character trait for a short amount of time.

Coolers for raw meat and meals storage.

Ducks, frogs, dragonflies, would be nice additions. You hear them in marshes, but never see them. Maybe even a pesky cloud of mosquitoes to chase you around? Simple yet adds more realism.

Instead of using global chat to advertise items for sale, why not create a specialized chat just for selling and buying? This way people could use that instead of doing so in global.

Movement of items needs to be allowed to skill up. This way moving could become quicker and easier then the current setup.  Pushing and pulling at this time are very slow. While more precise then some games, still needs work.  Need a way to increase distance or even pickup more items that are put down. In another game you could pack up your entire house into a suitcase (make it multiple if you want), and move then unpack. This, of course, is for longer distances then small. Small distance the pushing and pulling should be allowed to be set by the player for a certain distance instead of just small per tile. Maybe, a couple of tiles if necessary.

This is all for today. I'm sure I will come up with more as I continue to play.

Would also love paintings to hang on walls, as well as our shields, rugs as Flemish Tapestries, and backpacks to hold our tools like we used to do in SWG long ago.  I think these things may become possible with the wall clipping fix they're bringing in at some point.  I think the problem until now was a lack of 3rd dimension coordinate.

Mosquitoes, ok, BUT, only if I can add lemon to my candles and iron torch lamps to make citronella candles and keep them at bay in the summer :).

For the push/pull, in the meantime, have you tried binding them?  It's still pretty tedious over longer distances but easier than having to use the mouse every time.  I presume you know about the "load" function for moving large items?  I mention it just in case.

I think there is more furniture coming up.  A bedside table and a wardrobe/armoire if I remember correctly.

Not sure I understand the suitcase thing though?  I'm all for convenience but loading the wagon for the move feels more authentic.  Moving is kind of a big deal I think :).

I like the lemon adding to candles and lamps. Could be an update to alchemy. :)

Yes, I'm aware of the binding features. It's still too tedious of a system though, which is why I was suggesting it needs more work. I'm still trying to come up with a better function suggestion at the moment.  Loading is only available to those that have a body strength of 23 though. This is unacceptable to me, as I'm still struggling to gain 23, and I'm a premium. I believe that anyone should be able to load if they are premium, there's already limits set in place for those that are afraid of griefing.

In Everquest 2 you could load up all your items from your house into a box, and then go on to another house. Then you just checked a menu and the box appeared in your new home to be unpacked. If you still wanted the feature of loading then maybe allowing all items to be equipped to one box and load it into a wagon. Again having a body strength of 23 is uncalled for, as it severely limits players that want to found other deeds.

I love those two suggestions. I really do believe we need some sort of storage for meals that is practical and better than the small barrel/coffins method used. And I would love to see actual storage for uncooked meat. Seriously, this wouldn't take too much effort to implement and would really be a quality of life improvement.

And the separate chat for advertising what you want to sell/buy/auction would be great, because a lot of people don't use the forums as much and it would just be nice to have a place you could actually look for that in game. Also it would keep the other chats clean and seriously, how many times have CA's not had to tell people, to quit advertising in the help chat, it's ridiculous. :D

I've often wondered why we can't make use of moss to have a primitive version of a cooler though if we want to get into the details any cave of note should also be able to work as a root cellar with somewhat similar boosts to food storage.
