Old laptop with a Mobilty Radeon x700

Hi guys,

 

I've been trying for some time to make my old laptop run wurm. It's an old Acer Aspire 9500 with a mobility radeon x700. I'm pretty sure it's a graphic issue, the other components should be enough.

 

I can launch the client, but it crashes after logging in. I've tried a lot of things, but I no longer have a good perspective and I'm running in circles. Any ideas or solutions?

Try disabling Catalist AI.

Turn off most of the compatibility settings, And set everything to low. ambient sounds off, buzz sounds off. And you might get lucky. I have a laptop with the same card that can just barely run wurm if i dont try to move around too fast.

That actually did the trick, thanks! I disabled all compatibility settings and the sounds and now it works (barely). Tried on Linux, though. Windows might be completely out of the question, but it shouldn't be an issue. Gonna try it anyway and post the result. Thanks again, I wasn't really convinced that those settings would make anything better... One never stops learning
