New logs house, aka logs cabin.

Recommended Posts

Why not a log wall, so we can make houses like this:

No nails, just logs and dirt. probably 20 logs and 1-5 dirts per wall.

Maybe needs a new item: notched log, made from a log and a hatchet, a log with a deep interlocking dent in each extreme.

maybe a new roof type too, made from beams and dirt

or we can use the already existent ones.

I like how the guy is just standing in the cabin, looking out the window smiling while the women are up on the top working LOL

love the idea but the 20 logs makes me cringe

I'd go 10 logs and 10 clay - as most of those kinds of houses were a form of clay between them

Would love to see classic Norwegian style turf roofs on the top of that.

Although i think 20 logs is way too much. Maybe 5 logs per wall (you could make a LOT of planks out of those). Otherwise all trees in the area will be gone in no time.

Or...an Icelandic turf house like this one? Basicly both wood and stone but with dirt/grass as rooftop :)

That style of housing still used? At least the original style, I've seen more modern schemes along the same lines.

A far from what I know they're comfortable during winters because of the well-kept warmth, costs very little and very eco-friendly. Reminds you of the hole that Bilbao Baggins lives in but under the moss and not in the hills ;)
