Making Steel with very little iron

Recommended Posts

When making Steel, I have been able to replicate a bug that I found. I do not think it is entirely "gamebreaking" but it is still a glitch.

When creating steel with a full stack (64 pieces combined to one lump) of charcoal, and a full stack of iron. It will use the entire amount of charcoal but only half of a single lump of iron.

32.0kg charcoal  + 64.0kg Iron  =  25.6 kg Steel + 63.4kg iron

According to the Wiki the Steel is coming out in the proper proportions to the Charcoal used, but the Iron is not getting used up for some reason.

When making steel 1 lump at a time, it seems to work properly, though.

Also when using 32kg of charcoal and 1kg of iron it seems to work properly.

So I'm not sure why its broke, but there you go, that is the information I have.

Yup, it's been like this for many months....for some reason.

I reported it multiple times years ago and constantly bumped the threads yet noone seemed to give a damn so might as well just assume it's a feature and enjoy :P

I reported it directly to Rolf last night after getting sick of the threads. Now it's fixed

Seems it wasn't actually getting his attention for whatever reason, maybe it wasn't being passed onto him? Wonder why *cough*

Would be better if he'd read this board instead of relying on information from IRC or email. :)

Wasn't there a press release saying he Wasn't going to change things reported in private conversations....

Well yes that would be better, but it isn't working like that. I believe the committee being set up is meant to do this.

I believe there was something along those lines, yes. However all of my messages to Rolf have always been backed up by forum posts or comments so it's not just "i want this so do it" in the emails, When I email Rolf directly it is just to avoid something being lost along the line of communication, we all know this bug had been around for a very long time, so I reported it directly to Rolf. I didn't gain anything from reporting it, besides a thank you.

As for the "certain people in certain kingdoms" comment, this isn't like that at all, I'm not doing anything for personal gains this bug report didn't benefit me in anyway whatsoever. I reported it because it was annoying me seeing it posted over and over again with no fixes, Rolf chose to fix the bug i didn't twist his arm in any way, my colour, race, religion, kingdom, server, playstyle etc has no bearing on him fixing a bug.

I will continue to report major bugs directly to Rolf until he himself requests me to stop, in my opinion there is nothing wrong with trying to improve communication between players and devs, especially when it comes to genuine bugfixes.
