Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) So we have guard towers that spawn guards right so what if we put the ladders we have for houses and put them on guard towers so we could climb to the top. And then at the top there would be this spyglass sticked to the ground where someone could use it. I think this would be more useful in pvp servers but I also think that freedom players would also find this useful for what ever reason they decide to look for something that they could only see from above. The way I see wurm is as a medieval times simulator and I think this feature would make the game more realistic. Edited April 30, 2014 by Emmanuel

Posted May 1, 2014 what if we put the ladders we have for houses and put them on guard towers so we could climb to the top. Guard towers are objects and not solid in anyway nor are the divided into appropriate levels as with the rest of the multi story stuff. I doubt that this idea is practical under the current implementation for guard towers. Would be nice if they were actual structures just with special properties but I can't imagine that there would be any clean way of converting the old towers. Posted May 1, 2014 I can't imagine that there would be any clean way of converting the old towers. Weeeellllll, we could make a token-type object that spawns the guards and be placed in a building, or even make Guard Contract like merchant contracts, therefore replacing ugly guard towers with guard bases and small forts. The devs could implement it with a limit of guards based on building specs, for example, a 1x1 set of walls with a low QL wouldn't be able to support as many guards as a fully decked out multi-story castle complete with high QLs and roofing/flooring. Being on a deed could also boost the max number of guards.

Posted May 2, 2014 I believe this is planned with the new physics engine since stairs would work and the guard towers have stairs.....
