Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) This thread is to gauge what the general opinion is of enclosures in Exodus. Will people shun away "raiders"? Will they be raiding actively repaired enclosures? It is up to open discussion. Perhaps we can come up with some general etiquette in this thread. A poll is provided to keep a better count on opinions. Posted April 26, 2014 enclosure was a pain, i am glad it goes awayIt was most of the time a selfish way to have a private tree farm without sharing the mobs or the wood.It will be more convenient to explore and travel in Exodus now.I would advise people to let those old enclosure decay. Those pieces of lands are public now

Posted April 27, 2014 We had no enclosure rule 2 years ago and we were fine... Honestly, we will be fine now. There are a few asshats that will take advantage and grief people, but for the most part people will follow the "play nice" rule.
Posted April 27, 2014 If you want to haul a catapult around and bunch of rocks to bash a enclosures then knock yourselfs out.Ever try to bash a 70 QL or higher fence off deed down? And how many people travel with a catapult? People are just over reacting , lets things come and see then.
Posted April 27, 2014 Not many people are going to bother tbh unless they really want to get access to some fenced off land to deed or for travel access and everybody else will be too busy preparing to goto Xanadu to bother. A few might band together to middle finger the worst offenders but it's likely any potential enclosure bashing will happen on Xanadu where a good portion are going to resettle to. And even then it'll take a while beyond the immediate spawn areas.
Posted April 27, 2014 In the absence of laws, people will not behave themselves. To think that people are not already gearing up for fence bashing is a bit naive, some folks don't behave themselves with the laws in place. Be prepared for the go-live date and bring a bag of popcorn, the chat channels will be electric. Not wishful thinking on my part, I just understand human nature. Be prepared for the go-live date and bring a bag of popcorn, the chat channels will be electric. Not wishful thinking on my part, I just understand human nature. Most people inclined to do aren't skilled enough to bash all but the most primitive fences and people keeping a watchful eye will probably be able to repair the damage much faster than it's being done. Contrary to popular belief people aren't asholes just for the sake of it most of the time and ######s doing it for the sake of it tend to get bored very quickly when they meet resistance. There's a world of difference from casually bashing for the sake of it and doing it for a specific purpose. I think the only people that need to be concerned are those that have earned themselves a lot of resentment.

Posted May 27, 2014 I say we should respect people's properties. If an enclosure has a purpose, such as keeping animals in and mobs out, let it be and serve it's purpose. If there is one without a purpose, and someone thinks it should be removed, go ahead and waste your time with it. All those that are clearly abandoned, should be raided.
