I'm creating this here, just to have a place to show early works in progress of my attempts to create a custom graphic pack for Wurm Unlimited, that will be using textures from the popular Minecraft texture pack: Sphax PureBDcraft. I've gotten the "ok" from the BDcraft team, that if I get the pack to a completed state, that I could have it posted on their forums for others to use it, (somewhat of a rule with their textures - others can use them for games, but they have to give credit, and they have to be distributed via their site). As of right now, I've only got fairly basic terrain textures (not even close to all of them) done so far, and then some other odds and ends here and there, mainly for experimenting with the complexity of how this will get... As I'm only working with textures as texture files, and not in a 3d editor to do it as it's seen in the game world or anything, some stuff that has complex models, like the furnace will take me much tinkering. Some of the stuff that you'd think is complex, really isn't, such as the log piles, I'm quite happy with how those turned out. I'll be posting more progress updates, and screenshots as I carry on with the project though - Credit to the Sphax PureBDcraft Team for the original textures Progress Updates and Screenshots: -Week prior of April 21, 2019: Latest post - Well it's about time that I did an alpha release of this graphic pack for people to give a try, and give feedback for. At present, I'm open to suggestions about all the textures, essentially consider everything to be a placeholder for now, as it's still an early alpha release. Just a heads up, that because this is an entire graphics.jar file, it is quite a hefty download, about 1.3gb. Also make sure that you backup your original graphics.jar file, unless you don't mind doing a reinstall of your game to replace it.

For those who remember the last part of the project : http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/85478-deliverance-stadium-buildings-are-done/ , I was speaking of the arena as the next expansion of the stadium for a small crowdy feeling to see and enjoy the mindless slaughtering of each others. Some of my concerns were fixed by one of the late updates, as tundra now spread to nearest dirt and packed dirt tiles, the work can start again without destroying all the natural surrounding of the stadium. As you can see the project will be a bit easier to do. Smaller building with less carpentry requirement. High carpenter (95+) feel free to hit me up for the planning. And way less materials needed. Right now, it's all about the surface mining, as we need to lower the rock for the arena. One of the side access will be done through the tunnel (acces by the trader house/entrance). Feel free to join me at the stadium or send me a PM to check what can be done with me. Nota - Still waiting for your ideas for races at the stadium itself. Feel free to send me a PM if you want to manage one.
  4. Welcome Wurmians to this News Update of Week 38 Some words from the Developers After we announced our focus there has been much charing and debating in several forum threads. An especially reoccurring topic is the maps and the way people feel it affects gameplay. There has been much speculation and suggestions as to how it should (or not!) be implemented. Our favorite reason so far for not wanting the maps, is the passion for being lost in the woods. Something we want to reassure you, will still be possible. Though on the other hand, some are worried we wont go all the way implementing it to the extent of deeds showing and global positioning dot, making it "useless" in comparison to the community maps. We are not competing with or replacing the community maps. Currently our map is realized as a useful and available tool, not taking away the survival and exploration aspects of the game. It will not be implemented as a crafted item as we want it to be available for everyone from the very start. Maps and Recruitment Board. Maps are nearing completion and an example of work in progress is available for viewing here: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/87431-maps2/ The maps has so far been implemented and tested on the test server, functionality for annotations has been added. The annotations work like this: You have some for personal use, some are shared and available for people of the same village. Also, some are shared over the entire alliance. Placing them is as easy as clicking your map, but you have a set amount and restrictions to who can place them on village and alliance level. Village recruitment board is coming along nicely. Functionality is being tested for both putting up recruitment ads and requesting membership forms. In collaboration between the map and recruitment board, a player is able to join a village from, for example, a starter zone. This gives you access to the village shared map annotations and with that, the location of the village if it has been specified. Using the map and compass you are able to start navigating and plotting a course by aiming at landmarks. With some skill and effort, getting to your destination is now a bit easier. Money Distribution There are possibilities to improve how money is distributed in the game, there are some changes being tested. There has been some changes and additions to the Newbie buff: *You wont get hungry or thirsty as quickly. *Less aggro from mobs with a decreased aggro range. *Better health regeneration. Highlighted Bug Fixes. Mycelium can now spread to bush tiles and the infected bush tiles can spread the Mycelium further. The conditions of meditation tiles for Path of Hate has been fixed, and should now be working as intended. That is all for now! /The DevTeam
