  1. This is a (9 part) series in which I take a boat and sail the coast of a large portion of the Mythmoor server. Along the way I will be stopping to check out various coastal settlements! Click here to watch Weem's Mythmoor Voyage (Day 1) - "Leaving Tick-Tock" @Brash_Endeavors - I'm using music from the Wurm soundtrack in this series by the way

  3. This is something many players have been asking: "Why can't I move my settlement token after the deed has been placed?" It looks like a useful and natural feature, especially since the token does not have to be in the geographical center of the settlement anymore, anyway. There can be many reasons for moving the token a few tiles after placing the deed: Fixing an accidental misplacing Redesigning the settlement layout Building new structures or removing old ones etc... Of course, some of the more sophisticated implications of this suggested feature would have to be considered, especially when it comes to PvP problems. And, of course, deed size limitations must be observed (the token cannot be moved closer to the deed border than 6 tiles away). So, after some thought and discussion, here is my suggestion: Give us the ability to move the settlement token within the allowed area, considering deed size limitations. To prevent abuse this feature should come with a cost (5s - 10s) and have a cooldown of 6 months.
  4. Some of you may know me as Yekrut. Others may call me Turkey. And others may remember me as Shut up, kid! Whether you do or don't know me, I have a history in Wurm Online spanning several years and I have a plan for the new Steam PVE server. I've been planning this for any new server. I just didn't know it would take place on a new set of servers, but hey, I'm only human. I'm looking to put together a large market--THE largest market on the new Steam PVE server. I've already started planning. I want to get everything as organized as possible before the server opens and I'm looking for experienced players to join up. What I want is for players who plan to play on the new server to sign up and take on a specific role. When it comes to authority, you will have the responsibility of managing that aspect of the settlement, with input from myself and the other managers. We will have regular small meetings to review and plan future changes to the settlement. You and I will discuss how you should use your role for the betterment of the market and I'll make sure the whole thing comes together in an interesting and organized way. We will find a project for you to work on, and you spend as much time on it as you can. For example, if you agree to be our Master Dye Maker, you will need to level that skill up as quickly as possible because the market will be counting on you. If you're the Main Animal Breeder, your fellow market developers will be counting on you to donate and sell whatever animals you can. Not a lot of sales will be happening at the start of the server because skill levels will be low and no pro items will be in the game yet. Working together and helping each other will set our market apart from other markets. Working together will also help you to acquire better tools and resources before other settlements in the game. We'll design the market to be enormous, colorful, and aesthetically pleasing. I also plan to have a limited amount of lighting to ensure that players have as little lag as possible while in the market. We want to be very, very organized so the market will look amazing. For that to happen, each person's personal preferences will be somewhat limited. What does that mean? It means that the Main Building Designer will have most control over how the residential area looks. It'll be his job to plan structures and see that they are built in an organized way (placement, material type, size). The Main Outdoor Decorator will be in charge of decorating the outside shrubs and landscapes, etc. This is a normal limitation while being part of a larger settlement. But it's good because having one person choose these things for everyone will make an overall better visual effect. Also note that you may have to work with another manager to accomplish some aspects of your role. For example, if you're the ship builder, you may not be able to make your own high level ropes, so you would need to collaborate with other villagers to get rope. Most likely you could trade for some ropes or give up your products for free starting out and someone is likely to give you what you need when they get it. Helping someone else first can go a long way in villager relationships. It's a big undertaking. What do you have to gain from helping out with this project? Let me list a few things that will put you ahead of everyone else when it comes to the new server: -You'll get a larger, more desirable house in the market area. -You'll have a preferred space for a merchant when the market is ready to open.(still true) -You'll have access to a large community that shares their tools and resources with you, which will put us ahead of other settlements.(still true) -You will be conveniently located next to the largest market in the server.(still true) -It will be easier to raise your skills being in a large settlement with a common mine, forge, etc. (still true) -We will be a large settlement at first, while we raise our skills and develop the market. Then we'll open the market as it's ready and the server matures.(still true) -You'll be able to make some silver a little later, when the market opens to traffic from the entire server. (still true) -You will have access to our wagoner, which makes bulk shipping much more convenient than delivering it yourself by cart or ship.(still true) -You'll be part of a settlement that won't play for a few days and then quit. It's common among new players. We will keep growing this community until we're all highly skilled and rich. You will also have the benefit of being part of a large-scale project, which will be much bigger than most, if not all, other settlements early in the game.(still true) What do you have to lose? What do we need from you? You'll need a few things to be able to sign up to take on a role: -Premium. You'll need high skills eventually to continue to improve the market's appearance and amenities, which will require premium on at least one of your accounts. -This isn't like a real job, so you create your own hours. However, in order to fulfill your role as a manager, you'll need to put in an honest effort. If it becomes clear that you aren't fulfilling your duties or trying to steal/scam other members of the group, we'll replace you with someone who fills the role more adequately. -Donations. While you're raising your skills you can create storage bins, forges, carts, etc. to level up your character to be able to perform more difficult tasks. Collect your shards, ores, wood, etc. and throw them in a bin so that other people may use them for raising their skills. This type of network can be beneficial for everyone who joins in on this market. If it's not useful to you at the moment, it may be useful for someone else, so don't throw it away. Give it away if you can. Phase 1 - Set up stations for grinding up skills, a small house for each player on the table above, and a small building for each main development focus, such as smithing, leatherworking, etc. At the moment this stage is expected to last for around 1 month. It really depends on how fast we can grind up skills and gather materials for the next phase. Phase 2 - The market opens for venders who are part of the market's development (as listed above). We begin to change the settlement and terraform/lay down the foundation for the endgame market design. Our sellers open their venders so that other players may buy their wares. The final market design is being developed currently, which will be completed at phase 3. During phase 2 we will begin building with whatever skill sets we have gained at that time. This phase is most likely going to take the following 1-2 months to set up. Phase 3 - The beginnings of the endgame marketplace are in place, and just need to be completed over time as we get higher skill levels. The marketplace has been changed to accommodate sellers from all across the server. We fully open to the public and connect our establishment to other settlements via highways. We install a wagoner for shipments. We begin selling bulk materials and horses. We open our services to the entire server, such as sermon group inclusion, public mine, etc. As we reach phase 3, villagers who have kept up with their roles in the development of the market are free to move out and start their own settlements. They will be able to keep their house, title, and role in the marketplace, as well as their special market merchant spot for as long as they remain active on the server. They are free to pursue other endeavors and aren't expected to stay at the marketplace forever. Anyone who leaves early or fails to help the settlement adequately before that happens would give up their slot to someone else. *update* Our project is as large and ambitious as ever, so feel free to join up with us. How to sign up: Send me (Hammer) a pm with your discord ID so that I can send you an invite to our channel. Also include which role you want to have, or if you would like to be a general helper. If you don't want to use discord then you can send your Wurm Online username and email address so we can keep contact for important developments. I'll also use your email to share market spreadsheets with you. I won't use it for any other purposes, I promise. You may also message me in Wurm Online on Yekrut to discuss more information. If it's a high difficulty role you need to tell me why you think you could do a good job and how much experience you have doing that. Some roles will require some experience and others will require little or none. You can send a nickname if you don't want anyone to see your character name in advance (so nobody else takes it when the server opens). If I think you'll do a good job I'll add you to the list. You should sign up for 2 or 3 roles if you think you will be able to handle all of them. You can also sign up as backup if you want to help the primary person with that task. If there's a role you would like but it isn't listed, send me a message and maybe we can add yours. 6. Telmar Outpost Introduction The seafaring folk: the Telmarine pirates, from a set of novellas from a prominent author, set about for new lands after traversing through a nuclear portal found in a cave on an island. The namesake is from this particular people. Details As it is, this outpost is right on the water with access to a an enchanted mailbox within walking distance, near a local guard tower in case of spiders and the like, and has farming plots to provide ample supply of food and materials. The side section contains room for citizen housing. There is a mine nearby with lots of iron and marble. Purpose The purpose for this outpost is thrice: for those who wish to get some grounding before heading into skill-intensive encounters they more or less haven't been prepared for, and for those who simply don't have a place to settle in, may not be premium, but want to polish off their lack of skills, and those who don't have the silver to trade for their own deed and desire a settlement. 9. HI I live up the north end of Crystal Lake (hells forge / hells harbour) along with some old dusty neighbors :-) Fact is that we like neighbors up here so if you are looking for a place to settle I will be happy to give some directions to good vacant places in the area among friendly people to help you get started. Just PM in here or contact deathlemming in game.
  10. Greetings fellow Wurmians! So I've got some rough ideas, and I thought I might do some crowdsourcing to see what people think, maybe get some inspiration, that sort of thing. If you have any thoughts, please feel free to weigh in! So the main thing that I've been thinking about is something relatively communal and open. What about a campground? I could find some open, relatively flat land, set up some basic borders for aggro control, then set up individual campsites where people can come, pitch a tent, secure their locked containers, that sort of thing. Close to the water for boat access and fishing, maybe close to a load of abandoned settlements for Archaeology; communal workspace with ovens/forges/etc? Would it make sense to do this on an island, to be more generally accessible? Possibly bridged to the mainland and connected to a highway even? Are there any nomads out there who would use such a place if it existed? I did a cursory search of the forums to see if there was anything like this at the moment, and I didn't really see anything, but if someone has done this elsewhere, I would love to hear about it! I look forward to any feedback that you guys might have! - Perihelion
  11. We can allow a role to pass gates, but not mine doors. I do a lot of mines and have a lot of mine doors. I'd like more control of those door through the roles in settlement management, rather than having to set all the individual names on each door.
  12. Would anyone be interested in knocking up a small mod to adjust how many items can be stored in a bank? (Or make it size/weight based.) -- I've not noticed any existing configuration to adjust this. Reason: I'd like to stash original keys, more than 5.
  13. Hey, need some advice. Some random player put up a settlement deed somewhere he was not supposed to and an admin deleted the token instead of disbanding it. Is there a way to disband the settlement "remotely" using commands, or spawning in a new token with the settlement attributes or something. Thanks, Carbonade ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SOLVED with help from the guys at the wurm ultimate IRC channel: Open the wurmzones.db (in Serverfiles /Adventure/sqlite/wurmzones.db) with a database browser. I used http://sqlitebrowser.org/ Find the settlement in the table and look up its ID. Copy or remember that ID. Ingame as a GM, use the wand and rightclick the ground > create > Settlement Token You will get a Settlement token in your inventory, drop it on the ground. Then right-click the token and Item>Set data, and set "data 2" to be the same as the settlement ID. The token is now a token for the town you want to disband.
  14. Once again the duty has been handed over, and my turn has come, I will be updating the community map after Wraithglow stepping down. No change to the current system, post your updates in here and I'll will add them in the next update. Firstly, a big thank you to those who have helped the community map get to where it is today, including Darkmalice, Mystecore, Mammadarkness, Maximusi, Huserx and of course Wraithglow, not to mention maximusi in particular for hosting the site. The link to the map is here: http://wurm.dhcd.co.uk/map/ (Changed back to Maximusi hosting as I have not heard about the other Every listed deed and its co-ordinates can also be found here: If you want anything to be added post here with the coordinates, and if possible a little image to show exactly where you want it to be placed. (You can use an image host such as imgur.) If you want something (such as your deed) removed, send me a private forum message and I will remove it. Thanks, Archaed
  15. Hello. I'd like this to go smoothly, it's been a long road and half a year of work uncounted hours have been put into redeveloping risky and evilspot's old territory, Horsedog. I am selling it after a job well done and effort well spent. At 18s + Coffers, the starting bid is low. Work complete includes; creating a moat and a canal to a private lake, 103 surface mined tiles at 25 depth one channel wide, ready for anything you can throw at it. Removed 36 carts and wagons, applied major landworks, built 4 bridges, burnt a forest and collapsed many mines (thank you Wilca) For reasons, i named it Horse, the token sits next to where the Armpit of Vynora used to stand. the original owner i knew, and knew of, from eq.(bristlebane), it's a pity it was a desolate mystery for so long but now it's ready for planning. The highway hill lettering is heritage protected but the sea level `runway`, i added, feel free to modify. Thank You Starting Bid - 40s + this includes the 22s in the upkeep.. Price will drop by 20 silver if u wish me to disband the deed + Increments - 5s This is its location on the North East of Deliverance; (this map is inaccurate, the land has changed shape as indicated by the plotted highway) Compiled images of deed, i'm positive i could have done a better job on the screenies. (shadows are off, bloom's off, anti-aliasing's low, etc) do come and have a look for a better picture. ------------------------------------------------ An added footnote: If unsold - a private offer will be made - if still unsold, it'll be placed, with better screenies, in wts for 35s excluding upkeep

  18. Hey! We just discovered something that appeared to be unintended behaviour according to CA. I started a team to do some mining, and I attempted to "invite" another player (Said just 'invite' on menu). He did not read the dialogue and just pressed accept, upon which he was thrown out of his own village and joined ours. According to CA chat he should have to explicitly leave his old village first, which he didn't have to. I can not be sure about this in hindsight, but it is *possible* that I pressed to invite him to team and this still happend. (Can't confirm this right now but I felt it was worth mentioning). So from what I was told: Expected behaviour: Need to leave a village before joining a new one. What actually happend: Joined new village without leaving his old one first (but it did throw him out). Possible steps to reproduce(This might be way off): Invite several people to a team at once and attempt to invite a player to team/village. Noevi
  19. Introductions

Hi folks this is Pakawala, it's been a week i joined the game and i like it much as so far. I have a small settlement called Crow's Nest in south west of Esteron and also we are a very good community in the region. So if you wanna stop by and say hi you are very welcome!
  20. Are you someone who enjoys reading lore? Do you appreciate the fictional history of video games, and have an interest in helping to build such history through story telling and gameplay? Hopefully someone out there has answered yes to at least one of those questions! Or am I all alone in this boat? Cutting to the point; I enjoy creative writing. I won't say I'm great at it or that it's my day job because it certainly isn't, HOWEVER, I do enjoy a bit of fiction and history. I've been tinkering around with writing some fictional lore for various Wurm Online related things, and I had a wonderful -hopefully- idea. Let me write lore for you about your village. It's as simple as it sounds. I'd like to write lore for your village/settlement. If you love your village and are interested in the idea of having written lore to accompany it, please do inquire here or by pm. I will charge you nothing for creating fictional lore for you, and if you don't like the lore provided I won't post it here either for others to read. If you do like the lore and you'd like to pay me for it, pay me with in-game currency in whatever amount you feel is deserved. Again, I repeat, there is no required cost, I'd just like to flesh out the fictional history of Wurm a bit and I might as well do it for other players who enjoy lore as well. Don't be shy, leave a comment or pm me and I'll get back to you quickly.
  21. So i bought wurm on steam and have playing around ALOT with it for a week or so. 22. Hello, I have a question regarding an item that appeared in my inventory after creating a deed. I received a "settlement deed, pinewood" item in my inventory (pinewood being the type of wood used in deed stake) My question is, how do I remove this item from my inventory due to it having a weight of 0.2, and taking up space? Help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
  23. So when you have 100+ gates, the Manage Gates menu prompts you for 0-99 or 100-199. I apparently have just enough gates that one doesn't appear on either selection. 100-199 shows blank.
  24. The village of Lemosa Homestead is waiting for you. We have regular openings for everyone. To any new player needing a safe place to learn the game. To any returning player long absent Wurm. Wait until you see the changes! To any homeless Wurmian that cannot find a village to call their own. Your typical first week in Wurm does not have to involve starvation, getting lost in the woods, or being eaten by wolves. It can be arranged if you want... Contact: PM me on the forum, or message me in game with /t Onyr and a message, or /t Theria and a message. We added 3 villagers this weekend, and have two more open lots. We usually have room in one of the 11 (8x8) or 3 (smaller but they fit) lots. Current occupancy is 13 of 15 lots. Typical experience: Day 1 - Learn the ropes, and mechanics, build a cart, explore the village, find supplies and food in the Town Hall, explore the mines. Day 2 - Planks Galore! Your house won't build itself, so get sawing Day 3 - Carpentry isn't as hard as you thought, is it. You built and own your own home. Day 4 - Farming, training combat, getting a weapon and some armor. Day 5 - Time to explore You can find the Lemosa Alliance on the community map here. The road we built reached 4.5km near Lemosa Oasis Springs, before connections further were made by Wurm's great community. /salutes Damine for all his hard work How does village life work? Well...We do not charge rent, or hold your writ hostage. The writ is the key to your home. Your lot is secured by the completion of a house to close the fence. You hold the keys and you are responsible for keeping your belongings safe inside. If you stay an active player, you live there for as long as you wish. If you get bored, let us know. We roll the remaining lots over and will continue until we are filled with regular players. If you want to run your own place, the area has tons of room to explore for your own settlement. We can be a safe stepping stone toward your own domain. Welcome to Wurm.
