    Hello everyone! We have been busy testing and playing on the server ourselves but I thought I'd post a little information about our server. Steam Group Staff: Dexter (IGN: Crierd) - Server Owner / Admin Deez (IGN: Munk) - Admin LokiHavok (IGN: Drust) - Admin Rules: - No metagaming (using OOC knowledge while IC) - No mixing chat channels (Local is RP only, Global and PMs are OOC) Rates: - Default Wurm Unlimited Skill Gain - Epic Skill Settings (Faster skill gains that level off at higher levels) Free2Play: We're completely free to play. You will never have to pay for in game items or perks and will be able to do everything that you can in Wurm Online through in game means. Events: We will be hosting events for holidays and milestones, typically setting the server to twice the skill gain. We also plan to do RP events but that's to be determined.
  3. Has there been any talk of creating a role play server yet? A buddy and I were talking about this the other day, and we are hoping someone is going to step up to the challenge. I've started several RP communities over the years in Wurm, and some of them might of been successful if I would of had the time for them. Its kind of the same situation now for me, I'd almost be willing to start up a RP server, but I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to the community if I didn't have the time. If someone does decide to take up the challenge, I'd be willing to help them.
  4. We are two friends who've played the game together for some time now and have decided to look around for an active village to join. I have been playing wurm off and on for about three to four years, but all of that time was spent on Serenity. My character is relatively weak on Xanadu, but I am knowledgeable of the game. My friend, Anteos, has been playing a little less than a year and has a pretty solid character on the Freedom servers. I'll allow him to talk more about his character in response to this thread if he wishes. Together we've started a role playing village and after a little bit of stress with real life along with the stress of managing others in game; we backed away from that endeavor to pursue a more peaceful existence. Most recently we started a delivery service based village but quickly realized it may be a bit too much work for just the two of us, so we decided to join others rather than spend our time alone out in the wilderness of Xanadu. We’re looking for an active village that has a solid community base. We don’t want a demanding village that demands play time and work schedules. We’d like a village where we can work with others at our own pace, and we understand and wish to be active participants in the community. We’re pretty open in our choices, which is why we’re making this general post just to see which type of offers we may get. As said earlier, we did start a role play village and we’re interested in that type of game play still. We did not want to continue running a village and hosting role play functions as it got to be too much work, but if a village would like to recruit us as role playing envoys then that would be fine. I have no problem with teaching others how to rp and hosting rp events in game. If there are rp villages still out there, then that would be great too. But in the end, its just one of our wishes, but rp is not a must. Please respond with a little about your village and what you would require of us if we were to join. Brotherhood of the Cursed Interesting times arrive, when demons of the past are woken...But don't worry about it now dear traveler, let's sit down and listen to the story of the old man. On a hot summer night, the tavern's door opened, letting in a blast of cold air and the echoes of crickets. In an instant buzz of the inn had stopped. On the threshold stood a hooded figure, dressed in old, black, torn coat from which dripped droplets of water. Curious eyes of the regulars of "The Blue Clam" struck the bedraggled newcomer, trying to see his face. The figure walked toward the darkest place, leaving behind muddy footprints. Step by step murmur started to grow. The hooded man sat back. - Mulled beer please - said character with the hoarse voice of an old man. - Do you have money to pay, sir? - Hesitantly host asked. - Unfortunately, n... - No money, no beer, now get out, you are making mess! - Shouted the owner of the tavern. - Wait a moment. Maybe he will tell us a story - Said one of the men sitting by the window. - Yeah! If he will be good talking, he will drink! - Peasant shouted approvingly. The old man cleared his throat. - I can tell you about the Brotherhood of the Black Oak. - I guess you mean the legend of the Brotherhood of the Cursed, old man - said sailor and after a while he added - a bowl of fish soup and a pint of mulled for the guest. The host scraping the bottom of the cauldron, pour the liquid into a wooden bowl and headed toward the old man, scrabbling around in the dark. He put the dish on the table and walked away. After a moment next to a steaming soup appeared also mulled beer. The stranger began to slowly sipping soup. The sailor patiently waited for stranger to finish eating. - Can you start? - Of course - greybeard took a sip of beer and coughed - History of the Brotherhood of the Black Oa... - Brotherhood of the Cursed! - intruded one of the peasants sitting near the fireplace - Brotherhood of the Black Oak is an old and forgotten name. He sent his heavily armed mercenaries to slowly take over the Eksabon Isle areas. Cruel soldiers killed and destroyed everything that stood in their way. Cities flooded in blood, they were not taking prisoners. The survivors had a choice, join their oppressors or death by starvation. They were not violent towards each other, only for strangers. The smallest signs of disloyalty were punished by torture. These lasted until the soul left the body. On the first day of Tears, month of Snake, 854 year, leaving the rottenness and decay, Brotherhood reached the port city Erbos, the cradle of the Eksabon. The massacre begun... Blue Clam filled with silence. Everyone listened intensely to the old man. - No one escaped from Erbosa - he said with hushed voice -Immediately after taking over the town, there happened a unexplainable thing. People are talking about magic, divine deeds and the curse which has lost a Brotherhood of Black Oak. - It started with the fact that people's eyes became misted. Then the chaos show up on the streets. People committed mass suicides. They were not dying in a traditional way, oh no. Limbs were snap off and the skin peeled off. From a mass grave, composed of townspeople, emerged beast with sharp, long, yellow fangs, eyes dripping with pus and black as night. From head sticking big, bull horns. Unnaturally long, muscled arms bore big, muscular paws, which wielded sharp, curved claws. The monster in a moment decimated soldiers. Within barely an hour, the Brotherhood had become nothing but a legend... But can we be sure? Some people believes that Brotherhood is reforming and growing in strength. What are their intentions? Homes have been destroyed and lives taken, leaving nothing for those who are left behind. Seeking the safety of the hills, small groups of refugees from many different kingdoms seek solace in the Radiant Hills. These people seek to reclaim the freedom and peace they once had before everything was destroyed by the invading armies. They will not be hopeless sheep though, they have vowed to never let another so easily change their lives. They strive to grow stronger with the sword in bow while also creating a community that can self sustain them while staying out of the political strife of the lands. Dreams of having a safe haven are once again close to being realized. The fogs have cleared and the winds have been generous allowing voyage to the distant lands of Xanadu. Our Radiant Pioneers have voyaged from the dangerous lands of Serenity, to the friendly confines of Pristine, to finally end their travels in a beautiful land they’ve named Radiant Valley. Two mountains overlook the valley separated by a by a long slope that leads down into a large fishing pond. The first pioneers have erected their homes along this small pond under the eye of the ever protecting peaks. Ideas for a town center are being drawn up and supplies are being gathered. Together the people of Radiant Valley have a goal and work diligently to see their dreams come alive. Everything seems wonderful in this new valley, but will it remain this calm and peaceful? Do the mountains hide an evil at bay? Who Are We? We are a group of role players that use the local chat command to display our actions and dialogues in character as we go about playing the game of Wurm. We have scheduled role play events that are hosted by a Game Master. We are happy to teach anyone how to role play or answer any questions about the game. We have several personal deeds near each other and we are working on a village center deed. We allow anyone to choose any profession they like and allow players to either choose to live in the village center, create their own deed, or ask to move on one our existing deeds. The feel of the group is to be like pioneers with separate homes in the wilderness who create a village center for meetings and trade. The villagers should work together and share commodities; supporting each other in a barter like system. Guilds, churches, and politics are all future goals of the village to create story lines within the village. Characters talents (in character skills) will be loosely based on their skills in game. Although the focus of this group is not about grinding and more about role playing, your character can't really be a master swordsmen if the character has a fight skills of 2. More guidance on this will come later. The main story line of this group is about families who've moved away from their old lands to come to the wilderness and set up away from the dangers of war. They hope that they won't be troubled here but it may be possible. Many of the characters have most likely suffered loss. Griefing and stealing from one another will not be tolerated, unless by chance your character is a thief type and then plots may be constructed for your thieving ways. Once caught though, the community may see to remove you from their paradise in character. Death will be handled in character as well. With each death a character suffers, the character will suffer a major scar or other change to their body and actions. We will see death as the character being knocked out or severely wounded. If the character has died more then 10 times in game, then that character will die in character as well. The player will then have to make a new character to play under the name if they wish. Role play will be conducted by using the /me option and describing many of our actions included with dialogue. RP will be conducted in the Local Channel while OOC will be held in the Village chat. Seeing that there has been a recent influx of people wanting to RP in wurm and those wishing to learn how to RP, I figured it would be a good idea to establish some type community forum where we can all get together. Currently it is hard to establish any type of RP with lack of community and with everyone people spread out over the servers. It is my hopes that this new page will bring us closer together and allow RP to finally pick up in this game.     Week 4, Day of Tears – 1037 I found a horse dead today; dead with baby. Her death, of reasons unknown, brings about thoughts of my own mortality here in the wilds. Seeking safety further from the waters may shelter me from the raiders, but what other dangers have I opened myself too. Every night I hear the cracking of branches just off my perimeter, the growls of predators and the ever present smell of ash. In the light of day, I find that deer and cows graze happily, though at night I fear there happiness is extinguished when the spiders come. Fo protect me now, tis a dangerous land. All is for naught; I have become stronger in this feral landscape. With my aptitude for the sword I grow braver each day. I work the land as any proud woodsman would and enjoy the beautiful sights that are awarded me. Just out my window, I am reminded of my simple past as I look out at the Orchard Bay and remember the times spent next to my hermit neighbor, Eobersig. I can just make out his place from here and I wonder what new explorers pester him? Perhaps I should stop by soon and enjoy one of his meals, for they are the best in the bay. Life would be easier closer to civilization, but what would life be if it were easy? Perhaps soon others will find my mountain nice. Well, maybe after the spiders leave, then this could be a paradise for others besides my livestock and me.
  10. Hey there everyone, I've been playing Wurm off and on for a few years now. For the last few months I've been running a total immersion, heavy role play guild in LotRO. After playing Wurm for so long, I felt restricted in what I could do in that system and wish I had some of Wurm's features to implement into my role play. Well now, that itch for Wurm brings me back. I was wondering if there was any interest in heavy role play in Wurm, or if there are already villages who role play all the time? By heavy role play, I mean role playing our actions in sentence or paragraph form while we immerse ourselves into the setting. A lot of players already do this without writing, but I enjoy writing and the storyline and I'd like to take it a step further. I've created my own dice system that works well with chat role playing, which means I would be GM'ing many plots to involve the people in our group. (Hopefully others would like to GM as well). I also don't want to play with those who just want to work on their skills the entire time. I'm not a stat grinder, and I don't feel the need to force others to get to a certain level either. I'd like to spend our time role playing conversations, events, and conflicts; while also exploring the world, building, and creating a community. The plan is to create many plots and stories as we go, but I figured the beginning of our story would be a simple one. Our characters would be from a village that was ravaged by trolls. We were displaced and forced to roam the lands for a new home. We would have to live off the land or by helping others until we find that right spot to call home. This plot would start us out as vagabonds. We would travel during the day, visiting various homesteads and offer our assistance for trade or beds. We would stop at night by a campfire and reminiscence of the good times. We could travel the servers and meet different people or spend the day running from giant spiders. The stories we could weave are endless as long as we have like minded individuals. Though, I'd like to use my dice system for GM led plots, so I hope there would be no objections there. We would still PVE and rp that out as well. I figure keeping it to the PVE servers would be best, most likely the newer ones. If you're interested, please respond here or skype me at: coreyshall .
