  1. Just noticed this. When I go to 'place' my practice dummy, the 'place' timer starts, then, as I move my cursor about - I see no green copy image of that practice doll/dummy to place it with. Normally I get like a green copy /image of the item. Not for practice dummy , and not for small cart. Both are not giving me those green image copies to work with. Did not see anything about this posted on forums yet. Thanks your time. TeeeBOMB
  2. Hi, I had a very unpleasant lesson today. My alt was skilling on a practice doll - with a shaft activated - but the shaft should have been equipped - so alt was using a 93ql SUPREME longsword - and in a few hours the weapon went from 0 to 100 damage and was completely destroyed. The event message read " you cut the doll" and I should have realised that you can't cut with a shaft. However, it might be an idea to say with which weapon you are using on the doll, as many players have probably lost good weapons this way. So instead of : [14:06:42] You maul a practice doll very lightly in the neck. better would be : "You maul a practice doll WITH A SHAFT very lightly in the neck" or instead of: [13:02:46] You cut a practice doll very lightly in the right calf. better would be: "You cut a practice doll WITH A LONGSWORD very lightly in the right calf", etc I hope this is implemented sooner rather than later, as it really burned to loose a very valuable weapon.
  3. I would like to buy a practice doll if it can be mailed through COD. I asked in game chats whether it could be COD but no sure answer so I thought I'd post on here. Depending on ql will depend on price. I've no idea how much these things are worth with good ql so please post what you think is a fair price and I will let you know if I am interested thank you.
  4. You are bidding on the following... 50ql Supreme Practice Doll [15:42:19] An exquisite mansized practice doll made from shafts, a pair of planks and a pumpkin. This is a supreme example of the item, with fine details and slick design. It is made from pinewood. You must use a mallet on the practice doll in order to improve it. 5. Some people may remember a thread I posted last year regarding practice dolls and weapon damage: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/73915-practice-dolls-and-weapon-damage/ The short version is that I came to suspect the damage melee weapons take per hit on a practice doll is actually their base damage value (relative damage per hit before factoring in modifiers). I tested and listed those values in that thread, and they seemed to correspond fairly well with combat damage. With the changes to damage output of some weapons since then, I decided to test the damage weapons take from using a practice doll again. Since the old thread was archived, I had to create a new one to post, though. As before, different wood types did not make a difference in these values (tested with the 14 tree-based wood types), and there was also no difference in these values for iron and steel weapons of the same type. The values were also the same for rare weapons as for normal ones of the same type. A steel staff still has a higher value than a wooden staff (They're probably considered to be different base item types.). While some weapon types still have the same values, it is worth noting that the values for some weapon types have changed (in some cases, significantly) since my previous thread on the topic. Anyway, here are the new observed values: Practice Doll Weapon Damage Huge Axe: 0.600 Large Maul: 0.550 Halberd: 0.450 Scythe: 0.450 Spear: 0.450 Two Handed Sword: 0.450 Huge Shod Club: 0.400 Long Spear: 0.400 Maul: 0.400 Steel Staff: 0.400 Axe: 0.325 Sickle: 0.300 Longsword: 0.275 Small Axe: 0.250 Small Maul: 0.225 Short Sword: 0.200 Belaying Pin: 0.100 Wooden Staff: 0.100 Butchering Knife: 0.075 Pickaxe: 0.075 Carving Knife: 0.050 Hatchet: 0.050 Shovel: 0.050 Hammer: 0.025 Plank: 0.025 Saw: 0.025 Shaft: 0.025 Mallet: 0.015 Rake: 0.015 Leather Knife: 0.000 Scissors: 0.000 Practice Doll Weapon Damage (Two Handed Weapons) Huge Axe: 0.600 Large Maul: 0.550 Halberd: 0.450 Scythe: 0.450 Spear: 0.450 Two Handed Sword: 0.450 Huge Shod Club: 0.400 Long Spear: 0.400 Steel Staff: 0.400 Wooden Staff: 0.100 Plank: 0.025 Saw: 0.025 Shaft: 0.025 Practice Doll Weapon Damage (One Handed Weapons) Maul: 0.400 Axe: 0.325 Sickle: 0.300 Longsword: 0.275 Small Axe: 0.250 Small Maul: 0.225 Short Sword: 0.200 Belaying Pin: 0.100 Butchering Knife: 0.075 Pickaxe: 0.075 Carving Knife: 0.050 Hatchet: 0.050 Shovel: 0.050 Hammer: 0.025 Mallet: 0.015 Rake: 0.015 Leather Knife: 0.000 Scissors: 0.000

  8. Practice dolls take a minimum of ( perishability / ( 10 * EffectiveQL ) ) damage per hit, where perishability is the perishability of the practice doll, but can take more per hit depending on the weapon used on them, randomness, and other factors. However, more interesting is the damage the weapons used on practice dolls take. It seems to be a constant for a particular weapon type, completely ignoring QL, skills, etc. I noticed no difference between steel and iron or oakenwood and other wood types for these values, though it is worth noting a wooden staff has a significantly lower value than a steel staff. Here are the values arranged from highest to lowest: Practice Doll Weapon Damage Huge Axe: 0.60 Large Maul: 0.55 Two Handed Sword: 0.45 Huge Shod Club: 0.40 Steel Staff: 0.40 Maul: 0.35 Scythe: 0.35 Axe: 0.325 Halberd: 0.30 Spear: 0.30 Longsword: 0.275 Long Spear: 0.25 Small Axe: 0.25 Small Maul: 0.225 Short Sword: 0.20 Sickle: 0.15 Belaying Pin: 0.10 Wooden Staff: 0.10 Butchering Knife: 0.075 Pickaxe: 0.075 Carving Knife: 0.05 Hatchet: 0.05 Shovel: 0.05 Hammer: 0.025 Plank: 0.025 Saw: 0.025 Shaft: 0.025 Mallet: 0.015 Rake: 0.015 Leather Knife: 0.00 Scissors: 0.00 These values seem to correlate fairly well with damage done in combat by different weapon types. I suspect they may actually be the base damage values (relative damage per hit, before factoring in any modifiers) for the different weapon types, though that could be difficult to prove due to the variety of modifiers that affect combat damage, especially since one of those modifiers is some randomness. Separating the data for two handed and one handed weapons yields the following: Practice Doll Weapon Damage (Two Handed Weapons) Huge Axe: 0.60 Large Maul: 0.55 Two Handed Sword: 0.45 Huge Shod Club: 0.40 Steel Staff: 0.40 Scythe: 0.35 Halberd: 0.30 Spear: 0.30 Long Spear: 0.25 Wooden Staff: 0.10 Plank: 0.025 Saw: 0.025 Shaft: 0.025 Practice Doll Weapon Damage (One Handed Weapons) Maul: 0.35 Axe: 0.325 Longsword: 0.275 Small Axe: 0.25 Small Maul: 0.225 Short Sword: 0.20 Sickle: 0.15 Belaying Pin: 0.10 Butchering Knife: 0.075 Pickaxe: 0.075 Carving Knife: 0.05 Hatchet: 0.05 Shovel: 0.05 Hammer: 0.025 Mallet: 0.015 Rake: 0.015 Leather Knife: 0.00 Scissors: 0.00 At the very least, it's something interesting to make note of. If these values really are the base damage values for the different weapon types, it could also be useful for selecting melee weapons.
