  1. today, Ive found Wurm online used total of 55GB of ram compared to 4-8GB from normal usage, after investigating this happens after i close down the game it leaves 1 "Java Chromium Embeddfed framework (JCEF) Helper" on, not 100% of the time. This is via the steam version ive have most issues with this paticular memory leak, also according to steam even after ive hit "Quit game" steam still counts it as running and you cannot "stop" the game, you must then find "Java Chromium Embeddfed framework (JCEF) Helper" in task manager and kill its progress. This is not always the obvious solution.
  2. I am having terrible lag most of the time, even up to 5 minutes. I don't think it is the internet connection because ping to the server is okay. I am using WurmLauncher from the tar file. I found something with the memory that may be the issue, pasting from the terminal here === System information === Executing from /home/USERNAME/wurm-launcher/ Operating system: Linux (arch: amd64, version: 5.4.0-58-generic) Java version: 1.8.0_211 (Oracle Corporation) <http://java.oracle.com/> Jvm version: 25.211-b12 (Oracle Corporation) [Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM] Available CPUs: 16 Max memory: 3984MB Max memory in my system is not 4GB it is 16GB. How can I change this, or is this not the case maybe. Should I add some more logs?
  3. I am not sure if Wurm Online has native support for SLI or not. However, I discovered that the following settings in NVIDIA Profile Inspector seem to work. I verified with GPU-Z that the load is being spread across both of my NVIDIA GTX 970s as they both have around 50% GPU Load. What you need to do is create a profile named "Wurm Online" and find your j2plauncher.exe file from Java since this is what the game uses and add it to the new profile. Once you apply these settings, you can restart the Wurm client and verify with GPU-Z that the load is being spread across both video cards. It works for me! Keep in mind, you need to select the number of GPUs to use in SLI rendering mode. I only have two (one GPU per card) but some cards have dual GPUs, etc.
  4. So I've been exploring... I've been wandering the forums, I've seen a few signatures of people honoring their fallen friends and then I thought of this suggestion and I think it should be a part of Wurm and it's history. We have all heard and seen some hidden easter eggs in other video games where they honor their fallen gamers and I know Wurm has had it's few fallen great ones too. My suggestion is basically a grave site, managed by CA/GM etc where one can put in a request for those in our community that have fallen in real life... and that they feel they should be remembered. With a note available for other players to read a little about what made that person so great. Edit: After some thought, I realized how hard it could be to know exactly if somebody has passed away without being very close to them, so I'd like to propose another option, Just like I stated above, a designated area protected and managed by a CA/GM, to highlight those we believe had a big impact in our Wurm community that have now retired the game with or without notice, with the requirements set for those that have not logged in, in a year or more.
  5. For the past few days I have experienced a freeze frame issue when I log in. It is like mini lag. Today this progressed to a point where the freeze became several minutes long and now I cannot do anything. I tried relogging but upon relogging the area took a very long time to load and I could not perform any actions. Is the game crashing? Is there a way to stop this from happening? Thanks.
  6. The last while I had some serious problem with CPU load spikes and lockups in Wurm: http://forum.wurmonl...l__+cpu +spikes I found some stuff to improve things on my end, but there is one issue with Wurm itself that I wanted to bring to attention: The Wurm client jnlp file is limiting Java heap size to 800MB. This is probably an older value that has never been updated to current requirements, like multistory. When the local area gets cluttered, the heap is simply not big enough to hold all the data and the Java Garbage collection is running into a wall, jumping into full mode, which locks up the program until it's done. The problem could easily be alleviated by increasing heap size, but unfortunattely the jnlp <max-heap-size> parameter seems to take precedence over the ecternal javaws -Xmx option. Can't manually edit the jnlp file either, because there is a signature check. The incremental Garbage Collection option -Xincgc seems to work in preventing the lockups though. However a larger heap would probably improve performance. Edit: you can't have the heap size in the jnlp set too high in case of older machines though. Best would be a setting in the launcher that would start the game with a custom heap size. That way the user can adjust to his system. You could also use an automatic option by default that scales to maybe 50% system ram.
  7. I am able to start it up, and turn in-game, but then it crashes and says, "Out of Memory". I am on a Windows 8, with 8GB of RAM. Please help me; I have been trying to get this to run again for a few days now (it used to run perfectly fine on this same pc). # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # #
