  1. I've been doing a lot of hostile animal breeding lately, specifically Hell Hounds and Crocodiles. It would be fantastic if they did anything... at all. Below are a few huge QoL features I'd like to propose for animal taming / pets. These are listed from highest to lowest priority imo. - A "Follow" option when an animal has been tamed. This would allow an animal to stay by the player and hunt with them rather than having to lead them with a rope, un-lead, command attack, re-lead, loop. Also "Extended Commands" aka Kill target and return, etc. - Update stats on most animals - for example; Unicorns are basically worthless - the amount of effort that's required in taming and breeding does not match how useful they are when complete (5 speed / 5 draft). - Let players "Gift" tames to other players without the other player needing X taming skill. If I have a Fo priest or high taming, let me sell my 5 combat Champion Hell Hounds to people with 0 taming skill. The current system for gifting animals is not being utilised at all, this would be a quick and easy change that would be a huge QoL improvement to animal taming / pets. - Hitching - Allow more animals to be hitched. I'd love to see Bears / Unicorns hitched to carts and wagons. Tame / Charm, hitch them and make them not un-hitch when no longer tamed. - Stances - Agressive, Neutral, Defensive & Passive - When a pet is tamed and following the player you can choose a stance. Agressive; attack all animals within X tile range of the player. Neutral; attack what the owner/player attacks. Defensive; Only attack the mob/s that are attacking the owner. Passive; Never attack - perfect for having a dog or cat following you around when doing deed work. - Unique mini buffs for players with pets - for example; A tamed Wolf gives you 1% attack speed buff. A tamed rat gives you 1% increase to posion damage. Just small buffs that don't make one pet "meta" or better than the rest (like Sickles in PvE atm) - Pet amour - Decorative and/or combat effective. *Note* All the above suggestions are aimed at PvE servers. (at the end of this first post, is a list of mobs that do not respect and may pass through locked doors, building walls, or locked or unlocked fences underground) Ok, I put my dog inside a building (building name: South Three Interchange) underground on 12 Nov 2016, around 2am-ish EST on my deed Cornersville on Independence. The building has 3 locked doors and is a 2x2 underground. Once I released the dog (branded to my deed, Cornersville, Aged dog 'C0r f f2016111') I untamed it. I later found the dog wandering the mines outside that building. So I had to run go do other thing, when I came back, that same dog had wandered out of the area I had spotted it in and then thru another building I have underground (building name: Cornersville Long House, which has 4 doors on it, all locked), and it had wandered off deed. No way for it to get off deed underground, in that area, unless it passed thru a building with locked doors. THE PROBLEM: The problem is, my dog is walking out of a building underground. As far as I know in wurm, such an animal as a dog, should not be able to just walk out of a building that only has doors as access? right? Plus, the doors all have locks on them, with permissions set. Forums was down that day, so I submitted an in game ticket (#54917 12/Nov/2016 08:55). CM Moogien responded and stated that there may have been a forum post on this bug before, but wasn't certain. Dogs are not supposed to be able to just walk out of a building that only has doors on it for access. CM Moogian suggested that I submit a forum post, this topic, as soon as forums was back online. That is the reason for this post. Work around: My dog is not lost. I have my dog. I put it in a top side (above ground) fenced in area w/ gates. This dog appears to have no problems obeying the 'do not go thru gates game rule' above ground. Please fix this, so that I can release and rest assured my animals will not wander out of closed buildings underground.   6. I think it would be cool to have a new item added called a sled. The sled could be hitched with up to 2 dogs, maybe 4. It could be a container and it's capacity is similar to what can be stored in a large chest. It could be faster than a large cart pulled by 2 horses ONLY if it is winter. If it is not winter then it is slower than a large cart hitched with 2 horses. Thoughts??
  7. okay, i have done some testing over the last 2 months with breeding wild horses, bisons and dogs. all breeding was done on deed. the animal ration is perfect. groomed at least ones a day and my ah is 55. on my regular horse farm i get solid 5 speeds all day long. may be 1 out of 100 has a bad trait even less, but with the wild animals i get some shtty traits all day long one after another. i wouldn't even call them dog food anymore. that bad they are. malformed, feeble, illness and all the other bad traits which are out there. rarely there will have one okay trait. for me it seems like the game handles wild animals as if they were related to each other. i don't even get that many bad traits when i do some intentional inbreeding with brother and sister. anybody else has some long term experience on that matter? It can't be just bad luck over 2 months now.

I will trade if I have anything of interest to you, or if you just know the location of some odd color animals of the given species I am willing to offer you a trade for helping me out. Willing to buy as well, given the price is right. At the moment I already got: Unicorns: Alert, Fierce, Scared, Slow Wildcats: Scared, Slow, Champion Dogs: Greenish (also have slow and raging males) I am looking for all types of deer at the moment (have slow males.)
  13. As simply put as the name says really I would enjoy a system to which one can have multiple pets like someone can have multiples in real life granted I know this is wurm and not real life. Reasons: Multiple pets such as dual bears or hellhorses will let you hitch them to carts without needing a buddy Breeding aggressive creatures becomes a bit easier (zookeepers would love) Moving animals such as deer etc becomes less of a hassle (tame one lead it tame another lead it we all know the drill) I'm not saying have multiple taming off the bat but have it like caring for animals but a bit harder. At certain levels you can hold a certain amount of animals with a combined strength total of whatever. Such as 2 dogs would be easier to dual than 2 bears at say level 10 but wiki is like a reccomended taming of 15 for a bear so something like twice that would let you hold two bear or some such way.

  15. My dog faithfully follows me in real life without dragging it around with a rope or lead. I want the same in WURM. He's a dog. He's a pet. He's a friend. He would die protecting me. Without a rope. Why should WURM be any different? Please, no lame excuses about wandering off or rabbits. I've already seen them. They don't work.
  16. The problem I am having is after the last two restarts my dog has kept getting diseased. The first time it became diseased it was probably due to having 3 animals in one pen. After that I put the diseased dog into a pen by itself and had a friend cure the disease with their priest. Since then, after the two restarts, the dog has became diseased again ( the first restart I had a priest cure the dog again, she is still diseased atm). I was able to get a screenshot on the second one of server shutting down within 5 minutes and then once server was back up dog was diseased. It may be a spontaneous problem and difficult to repeat, however I believe the dog, once cured again, will be come diseased upon the next server restart. Let me know any ideas to try and resolve this problem. Thanks
