  1. How many times have you sailed to another server, only to find you have mail waiting on the previous server? It would greatly help to have a few yellow coloured text reminders, before leaving the server. 1) On embarking a boat 2) On crossing to a new server* "You have mail items waiting for you here on *ThisServerName*."* 3) On approaching the border "You have mail items waiting for you, which will remain on *ThisServerName*." * It is important to explicitly state which server name, especially when server hopping! Thanks for considering this.
  2. Please can we change the programming so that animals can cross server borders? I'm sure it's been said before, but I'm mentioning it again because it's quite a big thing and would be particularly helpful to breeders such as myself not having to start again on every new server we go to. I understand the programming part is easier said than done, and obviously this isn't going to happen overnight, but I'm hoping this issue could be given a higher priority in future. I suppose it would make sense for creatures that can't swim not to be able to cross, but we should at least be able to lead creatures over on a boat like we can do to different parts of our own servers.
  3. According to my event tab, I cannot cross servers. How can I fix this?
  4. There are so many bugs I don't know where to begin. First bug. Boat desync is ###### awful and has been in the game since boats. Boat desync for those that don't know, is when you cross a server on a boat and don't relog afterwards which causes your client side boat position to be incorrect. Enemy boat position can sometimes be up to thirty tiles off and you can still be in combat, its that bad. So now, into the second part. Second, after crossing servers, you must relog because of boat desync. After relogging you are (client side) thrown out of the boat, but really on the server side you're still in the boat. (this probably ties into #3) Third, boat perms are still not fixed. Upon crossing servers we had to disembark and wait for the (same captain) of the boat to fix the settings. Upon recrossing back home we had to jump off (because of bug #1/2) and then again, wait for bug#3 to be fixed by the (same captain) in order for us to get back on the boat.
  5. Hey, I'd like to suggest a new possibility for new playes. When first getting into the game, picking a server is mostly at random, in hope of finding the perfect spot or settlement. Some people however realise pretty soon that their desired goals for the game aren't achievable on the map they have chosen, and wish to switch after only a few hours of search. I personally think that during that 24 hour newbie bonus period, one should be able to change server simply by navigating the map panel and picking a new one. There could be a one-time use limit or something to avoid people exploiting it, but I'm sure that it would help a lot of new players. Before anyone tells me how easy it is for them to find someone to bring them over to the other islands because the Wurm community is so helpful, let me tell you how it really is. If you are lucky, you will find someone who is kind and trusts you with what you say. They might then help you over to the other island. Most of the times though, you have to pay for their time, or nobody even responds at all. We like to consider ourselves very friendly and helpful, which we are in many ways, but dedicating time to bring someone to another server is too much to ask from most people. Trust me, I have had that problem a lot and have only once found someone willing to do it for free who actually ended up doing so and not just claiming he would "tomorrow". There is of course the option for new players to make rowing boats, but anyone who has tried to make one at low skill knows how frustrating it is, and how long it can take, so for a complete newbie it is a lot to ask to just build a boat. Buying one is an option too, but what newbie would like to spend 16€ on 10 silvers just after starting, only to be able to pick a new server? Well, I would rather quit than doing that at that point in time. And player sales of silver are never in such low quantities. My suggested solution to this is, as mentioned above: a limited-used (once, maybe twice, or five times, I don't know) option to navigate the Map screen and switch between any of the same cluster's servers, perhaps excluding Chaos, during the first maybe 10 hours of gameplay. Within 10 hours of playing, nobody can really get skills worthy of exploiting for, and with the low BS and ML it makes no sense to make a new character just to switch between servers freely. Exploiting could be prevented further by adding a complete inventory wipe upon switch. That way nobody can just make a new char, put his stuff on it, and teleport over.
  6. Had this happen to me more than once: From SW corner of Pristine, sail straight south to Release (works great), then once crossed to Release, head straight West to Xanadu.... This is where the "sticky corner" is. I get a message saying I am about to cross to another island, then splash, I drop into the water, but don't cross over. Try moving and get the message "strong currents etc" and can't move. Try embarking, and get thrown overboard. Only way out of this jam is GM support, which I have done more than once. They are aware and requested I post here. Currently, I just have to avoid the corner, but that corner is the best way to get to my deeds in the NE of Xanadu. Thank you! Edit: Check support logs for "Birdwatcher" alt.
  7. As I said in another post. being ported back to deli from xanadu is unrealistic and added pain to travelling cross servers for many people. Even though it does effect me to much I can see where It can pain alot of people. I suggest we have a portal window not unlike the portals at the tutorial area, that we can choice to put us on the server of choice 1-4 (freedom old cluster) Crossing from the old cluster is fair enough in how it works, but going the other way adds an extra leg that really doesn't need to be there. I know a portal window popup isnt ideal, but it's a good remedy to the current situation.
  8. I have been traveling and each time i cross a server boarder the ground snow is gone. The tree textures are fine but the ground ones bug out back to the fall ones. note: this has happened on two computers at two separate locations and isps edit: i try a refresh in console and get this.. "Null tile type: 39 at (264,30)! Please let client developers know!"
