  1. Birch sap is collected only at the break of winter and spring when the sap moves intensively. When fresh, it is a clear and uncoloured liquid, very similar to water, often slightly sweet with a slightly silky texture. After two to three days, the sap starts fermenting and the taste becomes more acidic. Birch sap may be consumed both fresh and naturally fermented. Birch sap collection is done by drilling a hole into its trunk and leading the sap into a container via some conduit: a tube or simply a thin twig: the sap will flow along it because of the surface tension. Birch sap has to be collected in early spring before any green leaves have appeared, as in late spring it becomes bitter. The collection period is only about a month per year.Tapping a tree does not harm the health of the tree. Concentrated birch sap is used to make birch syrup, a very expensive type of syrup mainly made from paper birch in Alaska and Canada, and from several species in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Various types of birch beer made from birch sap are available as well, distinguished by color. The color depends on the species of birch tree from which the sap is extracted (though enhancements via artificial coloring are common presently). Popular colors include brown, red, blue and clear (often called white birch beer), though others are possible. Tasty !!!
  2. Every one knows that birch, pine and olive trees are frowned on for being invasive and block our view in forests. Well this project is all about the cutting down of all those trees on serenity. Obviously every one should take some sprouts of each trees and make their own little corral of fast growing trees. The plan is simple: First, everyone that participates gather in Strongbox. second, once every one gathered all of us move up northeast with wagons and carts. Third, pick sprouts at their leisure and store them in crates. Fourth, each of us takes 5 tiles wide and start going south fifth, chop down all the pine birch and olive trees in the way, sixth once arrived in the south shore we restart the process more to the west Finally, the trees you cut down and chop up are obviously yours. if you need some one to deliver logs and sprouts i can use my alt to deliver as need be. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
  3. I've noticed the following while making floorboards and i think there's something glitchy here: I've made a woodscrap pile on the grass with 118x woodscraps (weight 2.00 each maplewood) by accident. Naturally nothing can be dropped here (That place is too littered with items already.) Then i take maplewood planks and nails in inventory and create an unfinished birchwood (!?)floorboard right on top of the pile. The pile now contains 119 items (reported correctly as 'pile of maplewood items', 'A pile of items. It is made from maplewood.' although one of them is displayed as birchwood when opened). I added 5 unfinished planks this way on top of the woodscrap pile, and then I stopped addind because there seemed no end in sight and the point was made. The unfinished birchwood floorboard remained thus named in GUI no matter where i placed it (i moved it to small cart and back to inventory). Then i continued on it with another maplewood plank {both in inventory}, its name didn't change, but when i moved it to the small cart it showed as unfinished maplewood floorboard. The same when i added the last plank of cedar, when it still displayed in inventory birchwood or maplewood, but when i moved it to the small cart it became cedarwood. Stable client, with option 'show item material' enabled.
