  1. So it has come to my attention from recent events (dont ask, the mods are out in force) that many players and even staff are unaware of a rather hilariously comical feature that once existed in the game, and I don't just mean on a test server or a mod. It was live on the official servers several years ago, and was actively in development on the test servers. Even the gfx devs were hard at work on it. There was a time for approx a week when you could breed... player characters. We had these really creepy child models too on Test. Soul-curdling, uncanny-valley levels of creepy. The live version used the spider model as a placeholder... why? I dunno. I wasn't a dev, as I don't work for free. Anyways, so this goes on for about a week with various forms of hilarity ensuing (as min-maxing weirdo players will do). Then suddenly the word comes down from levels on high that this was all a mistake due to dev miscommunication, and everything is erased. Like it never was... Even now it lingers on as a mystery of history. Spoken of in hushed tones in seedy taverns and shady bars, passed down to wide-eyed new players. Sadly I can't even find online pics of the child models anymore, so I invite anyone from back then to share their own stories and maybe a gfx, if any. Thinking of adding a historical wiki entry on the matter.
  2. Ok so I hate to complain. I really do. But I'm getting rather fed up! I breed horses, sheep, donkeys, mules and occasionally other fluffy things to earn my upkeep and premium. I've been doing it for years now and I enjoy it. I'm a fan of the new AH system, and I LOVE the chonky draft ponehs. But despite having almost 93ah (92.86 to be precise) I regularly get animals that I simply can't sell. 3 speeds, 3 drafts and below. A good half of them on bad days. I've had one of those days today! Bear in mind that all of these babies have come from 4 speed or 4 draft parents. I also don't like the stationary trait so my breeders don't have it, yet it turns up every day. 2 of 5 of today's babies has it. To summerise the picture below, of today's 5 babies 2 have 3 speed traits (the twin trait is nice at least, so at least I can sell her!) which include the water trait and so the one not rare can't be sold. 1 is a 2 speed and can't be sold. 2 are 4 speeds and can be sold. And 2 have stationary pop out of nowhere! Now I get that my dislike of stationary is a personal preference, but my complaint is that so SO often I get babies that simply don't reflect the traits of their parents or my AH skill. I really feel that having over 90ah I shouldn't be having close to half of my babies be unsellable because of poor traits. I think there needs to be a bit of tweaking done here. I can accept having failures sometimes, even at high levels of ah, but every other baby? I'd love to hear opinions from other breeders to see if my experience is common or if I'm doing something wrong, because right now I'm at a loss!
  3. Eckerrun is a hero. He's testing how stationary trait works and if strong diet and will could cause death. Test area have plenty of tiles to graze from, but trait also proves to provide strong will to not eat from other than that 1 tile(no feeders, that's cheating), tile is packed on purpose as often stationary horses in big farm end up in similar or identical situation.. This turns into a babysitting game of checking on such traited horses, idea here is to see if this test will eventually kill it from starvation and if that happens Eckerrun's life wont be in vain, it should alarm that ai could be probably updated somehow.. as these misc traits are now common and there's no way to manage the adding or removing of such. TODO: Will update once Eckerrun passes, so far the initially fat creature lost the fat status and is obviously hungry now. --edit this will take a while.. notice the graceful eater and slow metabolism traits
  4. I was surprised this morning, when I was leading my newborns to their pens, that I had the "ride" option available on young Romeo. And I rode him. Is that correct, or a bug?
  5. Having a really cute foal born with a slightly disappointing name, I had a thought. What if, when you hit a high level of animal husbandry (say 90 or 100) you gained the ability to change animals' names? So if you get Haltula or Yazmeenpick, or a name you just don't like, you could change it to something else. Either a name you came up with, or picking from a list like the rng does anyway. Haltula could become Penelope or Sweetswift, depending on the system used. To keep things Wurmian, have the ability to change names as an ability with a long cool down, say you could only change names every 18 or 24 hours. It would add another reason to gain husbandry skill, perhaps as part of an animal husbandry overhaul?
  6. I bred a horse with fleeter movement with another horse. I then rode the male horse to hunting, and it died due to an unfortunate Dewit incident. When the female gave birth, the foal only has the mother's traits. Is this a bug? This has also happened to me in another incident involving a lava fiend. Just putting this out there, sorry if this has already been discussed.
  7. what does "It has a certain spark in its eyes." do to the horses. like what effect does it have.?
