  1. Horse skins?

I was wondering, is it possible to replace the default horse skins with custom ones like the amazing ones Fizziepop has made? Would this require a mod (eek!) or is it a case of overwriting the default skins with new images, wherever they might be?
  2. [RELEASE] UI Reskin

Hey guys, I've been wanting to do a re-skin for the Wurm UI for probably as long as I've been playing the game, several years at least. WU gave me the opportunity so I'm jumping in with both feet! Here's a screenshot of the UI, note that I have the font size set to 14 here. This is something anyone can adjust in the game settings, it's not part of the re-skin. Instructions and download below. Download the WU-UI-Reskin.zip and save it on your PC. Open WU-UI-Reskin.zip in a zip application, I recommend 7zip. Close Wurm Unlimited if it's running. Navigate to where you have Wurm Unlimited installed, then open the Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher\packs folder. Make a copy of graphics.jar for safe keeping. Using a zip application, open graphics.jar. If you're using 7zip, just right-click on graphics.jar, highlight "7zip" and then "Open archive". Drag the "gui" folder from WU-UI-Reskin.zip into the open graphics.jar. Make sure you aren't dragging it into a folder, it should be updating the "gui" folder already in graphics.jar. Close graphics.jar and you're done. If Wurm Unlimited updates the graphics.jar file, you'll have to do these steps again.
  3. Would love to see the insides of mines change a bit, to better blend between plain rock and specific ore types. Could be several ways to do it, so I'll leave the thought there. Also, would like to see gem mines, rather than ore and rock mining, just randomly dropping a gem. Gems have always seemed to be overly abundant to me, but maybe because I have a love for mining. Make a diamond vein, or ruby vein, etc. Make it take a random number of actions 1-100 to get a gem. Non gem producing actions don't give rock. Veins are the same sizes are regular ore veins, but based on actions, not how many gems are pulled out. This way, people can choose to prospect for gems or veins and not have to just pray and mine nonstop for gems. Just a thought.
  4. Ghillie Suits

In case one is not familiar with the concept, or doesn't recognize the term from military sniper footage and/or movies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghillie_suit The origin of the modern usage is Scottish, so something I take ancestral, familial pride in. Called a "Yowie" in Aussie land, something I was actually unaware of before checking over the wiki link. Sure the Ghillie suit involves using local plant life weaved into a shroud to disrupt the human outline. However, animal skins and parts can serve the same affect. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd165_YTXZQ In Wurm, something craftable as a ghillie suit can help one stealthing, or just add stealth bonuses to animal-part clothing already ingame. EDIT: One might even have to craft different suits or rather modify a suit with foliage for certain areas. With animal skins, wild-life may even react differently depending on what is worn. Granted the Scottish Ghillie suit dates back to 1700-1800s; however, the basic idea of using animal skins or plant life to disrupt the human outline is hardly a new concept:
  5. It might be cool to have the chance to skin a kill with a decently high butchering skill and have the skin as a rug, "bear skin rug anyone?", , maybe need to add in taxidermy then we can stuff kills and display them
