  1. Erupting a rock tile can raise a corner of that tile a bit, which is intentional. However, if that eruption causes one corner of a mine entrance slope to rise, this causes the entrance to NOT be level as it normally is, and the tile inside the mine does not adjust itself to compensate. This leads to a discontinuity in the terrain across the transition between inside and outside. Outside: Inside: Note that inside the cave, the entry is still level, but outside the cave, the entry is 4 dirts higher on the corner affected by lava. As a result, I need to turn climb on to get out of the cave, and can see through bits of the terrain since it doesn't match up. Not sure what ideal behavior would be here. Maybe it should do a sanity check to not raise the corner if it's at a cave entrance, since those are never supposed to be non-level? By fixing this bug, Rolf "Lonestar" Persson and KodeKlubFree International Ltd. hereby agree to remove the Magranon domain restriction on the Erupt/Freeze Path of Power meditation ability, as it serves no purpose but to make me openly weep into my full-size anime body pillow at night, and curse the stars every time I want to get rid of a problematic ore vein or off-deed reinforcement.

  3. Remove mining safeties

    Now that we have underground bridges, I suggest we remove some of the safeties currently in place when mining. For example: [08:46:37] The cave walls sound hollow. A dangerous side shaft could emerge. I'm aware of the danger. Glad to get the warning, but would like to bust through nonetheless knowing I have various options to address the outcome. I suggest we keep the warnings in place, but ultimately allow players to carry on if they so wish.

  5. Hi I've slowly started on the cave canal /road from Lake Harmonie to inner sea. I have had some input from people and have chosen the least completely impossible route there :-). So far just exposing some surface rock making some concrete and such at LH end. Plan not completely done but if anyone is interested in killing a vein or two let me know. DL (the rodent from hell)

  7. Is there a functional Surface Mining mod available out there? I've seen a couple of mining related mods available and only one or two Surface Mining related ones but anything Surface Mining appears to have been long since Abandoned and Broken. Does anyone know of, or can create a functional Surface Mining mod? I'm looking for something that can reduce the amount of actions needed to reduce the slope while Surface Mining. Nothing too complicated. Any help would be greatly appreciated! <3

    I was testing my pickaxes earlier today, with 95.41 pickaxe skill. 95.5 QL normal iron pickaxe, 98 WoA, +10% speed rune - 2.9 second action timer (100% stamina) 95.5 QL supreme iron pickaxe, 96 BotD - 2.7 second action timer (100% stamina) Is this intentional? Before the update, the normal pickaxe had 2.5 second actions, where the supreme had 2.7 second

  11. I noticed when mining zinc just now that the minimum number of zinc ore that will form a pile is 7. I also mined copper and that needs 3 ores to form a pile as expected. I was mining the zinc off deed in a one tile mine. Dirk
  12. Many Mining Fixes.

    Another day, another task in Wurm and many suggestions coming from it. Some have been mentionned in others threads, raised by others or even myself, but lets go through them again and lets hope they will get some traction. Flattening : Currently flattening only allow to flatten a tile toward the lowest point. Sometimes you want to instead use the higher one. So dual option for both flatten higher / flatten lower. Ceiling levelling: Currently, you cannot level a ceiling down, it can only be up (and currently bugged as well). Lets use some concrete for that task shall we. Ceiling flattening: Same as the floor flattening suggestion. Ceiling lowering: Well, with cave buildings, the land shapping of the ceiling is almost as important as the land shapping of the floors. We have options to raise them. Why are we still unable to lower them with concrete. Mining and random directions change: When you mine forward on a flat tile... why does it go up and down randomly specially when your skill is above 90... one can understand that you might mistake your feet for a rock when mining at low skill and weirdly change the slope... but at high one, those silly mistakes shouldn't happen. Lets change that and allow our mines to be straight. Side mention: Concrete. Most needed tools for our mine smoothness and more painfull one to obtain. Not only the fail rate is horrible, but the ash creation is the worst part of it. Most of our fire sources do not create ash, though, that by-product is still highly needed. Ash trays for all forges, ovens, smelters and others kilns, allowing the fuel we use to be transformed into ash over time.

  15. Set Vein Quantity - minnig change

    Just saw a post here from Wulfrock on a custom mod to fix sandstone vein counts: What I would like to see is a mod like this, but that expands on the idea to include all vein types, allowing you to set an ore range for each type. So if you want Glimmer and Addy veins to be higher than 50, but not as high as iron, presto. I agree with Wulfrock that sandstone is too plentiful for full 10k veins, so setting a lower count is going to be preferable for most server hosts. If there was a mod like this before I'd created my server, I would have created more veins, but with smaller quantities in each, to provide greater access to all the different ore types, without making it too impossible to mine in a straight line.
  16. Normal: What we now do today, for mining, chopping down trees, digging. Aggressive: Faster actions, Less skill gain, Higher chance for lower QL results, for mining ore veins, each hit drops the vein by 3, but only produces 1 shard. Precision: Slower actions, More skill gain, Higher chance for higher QL results (up to your max skill level). Skill gains from Aggressive and Precision become a fixed amount per action (dropping the old skill formula). Higher QL tools ONLY affect the speed and QL results. QL results are capped at tool QL +10, but can be exceeded with potions & runes. This will also have the benefit of providing lower QL mats on demand. Seems to me, if I am highly skilled at WC, I ought to be able to intentionally produce low QL results. I really want to see the invers connection of tool QL and skill gain eliminated, but with this system, we keep Normal for those that prefer Wogic and give the option of Aggressive and Precision to those that prefer Logic. Obviously, there must remain a balance. Precision should not be any faster than what someone would do using Normal, targeting the appropriate vein type and using the appropriately low QL pick (for example). Normal, Aggressive and Precision can be a mini bar that appears when appropriate tools are equipped.
  17. The work; Ceiling - The ridge is to the north of the longhouse. I wished to level it by standing on the building. So i tried. It's telling me i can't reach the ceiling. its north west tip is the north west from this perspective. that corner, is at the bottom of a slope that goes into water. I thought maybe it's checking the height beneath the NW corner, although I'm 70 slopes above it. (45 slope + 2nd floor house) It's clearly lower than i am so why am i getting the ` You cannot reach the ceiling.` error? This is Fablecrafter's project, it has me down below and shydow up above. This error represents an impasse.

  19. I often analyse shards from a pile to refresh my memory of an area i'm mining in. I know i'm lazy but sometimes i forget to rename the shard to show i've analysed it, or i pick up one that someone else has used. Wouldn't it be good if the game did this?
  20. On my own deed, cannot mine far corner of floor tile if south of reinforced tile. However, I could mine down the tile to the west without problem. Highlighted tile to the SOUTH of the reinforced floor: Tried mining down the far left corner of the highlighted tile: [19:52:42] You can not mine next to reinforced floors. Tried flatten: [19:53:10] You can not flatten next to reinforced floors. The paved tile is flat, so tried leveling: [19:53:36] You can not level next to reinforced floors. The three walls at the highlighted floor tile are : Rock, Iron, Zinc. Left to right. Highlighted tile to the WEST of the reinforced floor: Same paved floor tile as above. I can mine the far corners of the highlighted tile just fine, no problem. Walls around this highlighted tile are: Zinc, Zinc, Pottery Reinforced. Left to right. ********************************************* I did not test to the north or east. I had posted this in another thread regarding a ceiling bug, but thought it might be better reported separately. Feel free to delete with apologies if not. Thanks!

  24. Cellars

    So. I was actually working on building things, and then I came up with an idea: Cellars. ON the ground level of a house, it allows someone to dig up a hole in one of the tiles. Though, it is still limited to the 'width' of housing as normal, using the floor-level system used already, but on a negative scale rather then positive. The bigger the house, the more digging skill (or maybe mining, or both) is required to dig up the cellar, at a same rate as the carpentry skill needed to plan a building. (Expanding the house would also require the one to plan the expansion with an existing cellar to have the digging/mining skill to also do the expansion down there) Now, what is the point of a cellar? It could have a few effects. Historically, wine ages better when placed in a cellar. A larder placed in a cellar also would not require snowballs to preserve food. The other good point of having a cellar, is security. Since the cellar is actually further underground, destroying the floor does not open the way to the cellar. The only way is through the shaft that leads down to it (stairwell, or just a trap with a ladder) ... if you placed walls inside with a locked door, folks would also need to bash down, or pick that lock to access the content of that cellar. Great for storing your valuables, but as it is impossible to actually go down there with a horse, dropping crates with stuff down there would be impossible, so only for storing small valuable objects, food without requirement of snowball, and accelerating the aging of wine slightly. On another note, if the writ owner destroys a house with a cellar, all items in the cellar are destroyed, burried under a thick layer of dirt never to be found again. This is a draft of an idea I had. It might break things, or it might be impossible, but it is an idea that I like. So lets discuss about what could be broken with that, or fixed! and other possible ideas to come with it!

    Hi Im prevented from mining out of a cave. Getting some odd message about a highway is in the way. Not sure if it's a real bug or it's just the wrong message. Still i do not se any reason i should not be able to mine out at that particular spot.
