  1. I was thinking about Mayors having the option to lease or rent space in their villages through the use of a "title" token, similiar to a village deed token, but managed by the mayor. The mayor could set a title token for a small area and set the permissions to a specific player and rent it to them. The rent could be based off of the actual upkeep per tile or a little more, 20 -50 iron. This would make a small village plot of 5x8 only cost the villager/player 8c - 20c per month, which would be paid directly to the main village upkeep each month, with the remainder sitting as a bank. The Title token could be established in the same manner as the deed token, N,S,E,W tile directions, yet without a perimeter. Conversely, it could also be left open for whatever the mayor wants per tile based on deed location and resources. A nice ocean side village with great mining resources could fetch more per tile than a land-locked village surrounded my marsh and thorns. This would give a competitive aspect to it as well. A mayor could be recruiting based on a 45 iron per tile rate, and lose to someone recruiting at a rate of 30 iron. There could also be the option for no rent, yet still be able to set the tile and permissions for the player, for those that don't want to charge their villagers. If a player decides to put 6 months upkeep in the Title token, it is only paid monthly for the next upcoming month. This way if the player decides to leave, they can drain out the Title token after they moved, which would disband it and recover any un-used upkeep. This way the mayor could have a general set of deed permissions, with a specific set for the player on that specific plot of property. For example, I don't want villagers to have full access to terraform the entire deed, however on their titled land, they can go wild and build, dig, whatever they want per the agreed upon permissions. Best part is... I don't have to be around for them to do it. A mayor could also use the title token to designate a "community area" where locals or passer's by can have a limited permission place to load, unload etc, such as an on deed marketplace that sells bulk items. Should a mayor want to remove the citizen for whatever reason, they could simply "Revoke" the title. Once "revoke" has been initiated, a countdown would start for a specific amount of time for them to "get their stuff and get out". Their upkeep beyond this specific time would be refunded back to their main bank and after the specific deadline has been passed, all permissions would revert to the mayor. This way buildings could be knocked down, fences destroyed and the property reclaimed for the next player to use. I believe this would help create a greater opportunity for communities to grow, by giving more flexibility to mayors to manage their deeds and villagers to play the game in a broader sense without having to go make a deed to do the things they want. This would also encourage more mayors to recruit as the rent would assist them with monthly upkeep. Ya or nah? Thoughts?

  5. I have a lovely deed on the SW coast of Newspring Island, with an alt, Bagheera, who is a Nahjo priest. There are two other villagers. The one is a budding nahjo priest, who will be a battery for Bagheera for bigger casts. The other is a top miner, blacksmith, metallurgist and Platesmith. I am a bit of a Jill of all Trades, best skills being Carpentry (88), Fine Carpentry(76), Fighting (82), Digging (76), Masonry (72), Animal Husbandry(74), Farming (73), Jewellry Smithing (71), Blacksmithing (81), Natural Substances (68) with alchemy at 36, Pottery (42) and Hot food Cooking (72) - so meals are not too shabby. We are looking for an active player, who has a Vyn priest - and who might like the nature side of things, like farming, animal husbandry, etc - to make up our team of casters. Preferably in the GMT / Euro time zone, but this is not essential. Excellent English is not a requirement, but obviously some is needed. We have a nice lodge, where sermons can be held, plenty of altars on deed and more can be made if required. There is a fast (93) mailbox. It is very peaceful in our neck of the woods - and there is a lot of wooded areas around for foraging, botanising and woodchopping - we are a member of the Black Brigade Alliance and there are some nice players there - some chatty and some not so talkative. We have a good mine, with most ores and lots of public mines dotted around too. There is plenty of clay, tar and sand available - some on deed and some very near by. There is a nice house already built for our next villager to move in, with lovely views and pretty well equipped and fitted out, with 2 canopy beds, etc - any required modifications can be done of course. There is a cart and horses available for immediate ownership for you. There are v.few hostile creatures, but I have a deed on Exodus in the North East, which is very quick to get to, about 20 minutes with a good or fair wind, which you would be welcome to join and use as well, as a hunting base. Some pics of the lodge, with a few of the deed too: http://imgur.com/a/gtT9M Happy to show you around if you are interested. PM in game, same name - or forum message me. Thanks, Baloo

  17. Vanaheimr Current open slots: 0 Location: X37Y40 on this map; https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/sh/1wpwh8zwqnx628z/OKkIlCaRz1/celebtpikols1.jpg?token_hash=AAGyvfhkfEZ0jh_k6GlvvqNCodTh5tMl97a7G25pBxLUWQ So I've decided to turn a part of my deed into an area for villagers. I'd prefer Premium players or at least you're going premium in the near future. Also as i'm doing this to get a bit more life on my deed and i'm EU based, I'll only consider EU players, or at least players that play on the same times as i do (usually from CET 4pm->) You'll get a lot that is yours to do with what you want, well almost.* We do need a few groundrules. First off; I'll be holding writs to any buildings you build. (In case you go MIA i need to be able to knock down the building) Secondly; I'll enforce a 2 floor height limit plus roof. (don't want any eyesore towers spoiling the nice look of the deed) Thirdly; Respect your fellow villagers and their belongings, and be friendly. And yes that's all there is to it. What can I offer? You will... ..have complete freedom to do whatever you want. No expectations of paying rent or having to build huge projects. You're ofc more than welcome to do/help with these things. ..get a fenced off private area to do whatever you like. ..have access to a mine with iron/tin and loads of rockshards to be mined ..get the opportunity to work with just about anything you can imagine. (Huge farming area is possible offdeed) ..be a part of a very friendly deed and alliance. ..live on a coastal deed with great hunting around the deed. ..have a safe haven to live at, with both templar and guardtower on deed. ..get a free 5 speed horse if/when you have the skill to ride it. If this sounds interesting, please feel free to contact me here or ingame (Guruen) for further questions/details and/or a tour of the deed. I've just cleared the area, so not all the fences around the lots have been finished yet. *Due to the nature of this setup, you can expect to have to clean up a bit after previous tenants. (some things might be reusable and save you build time) Overview of the villager area:
  18. I have a large ad at this link with great detail of what we offer and expect, but to make it easy I will post a couple of thoughts here. Temporary Residents: Basically Tanelorn is a great place for new players to come and get their feet wet and figure out what this game is about, what it expects from you and where you want to go. We have temporary housing for those who don't want a permanent dwelling and who will be moving on shortly. We can help out with as little as leaving you alone to figure things out and providing a safe dwelling or as much as helping you with some good tools and showing you the way. Permanent Residents: Tanelorn is looking for a few permanent villagers to add to the family. To get those details you really need to visit the main page because we are picky about what we want. This is a permanent family and we want to make sure we mesh well together and don't have a bunch of people bouncing back and forth on the main grounds. I suggest you all read the main page because there are lots of lovely pictures and lots of information about us. Please post your comments over there because I will probably forget to check here for them. You may contact Lucard or myself in game however this is my project so I invest much more time into it. Please keep in mind, Lucard is very busy with terraforming so sometimes he forgets to check pm's (he is getting better about it). I can also be contacted via pm on the forum. I look forward to chatting with you all. Blessings, Harvest
  19. Tanelorn Training Academy First and foremost we are drama free. If we find that people aren't a good match we try resolution first, if one can't be made then we find other housing solutions for the person causing the problem. We all pay way too much money for this game to not enjoy it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Communication You must be able to speak English well enough to understand Wurm Rules and Guidelines when explained to you. The people of Tanelorn are all fun-loving people who love to work together as a team and help out new players at the same time but when you can't understand the language it makes it very hard to communicate. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location We are conveniently (or not so conveniently) located in the far north east near Cherrywood Isle. On the Dump Map we are located at X42.5, Y8.5 and on the Darkmalice Map we are at 53-BC. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Us The Academy is still undergoing construction. Most of the digging is done but there are still two holes that need filled. If you want to dig we have a sister deed that still has quite a bit to do that you are welcome to come work on and grind that strength. As for The Academy, we are still building the houses and fences so there are some things that we need help with if you want to come help us grow. The Academy is a great place for you to come, skill, and help out with community projects. Our primary goal is to help you learn to survive this great bad world and then help you move out on your own. When you come to The Academy you do not come on a permanent basis so please be aware of that to begin with. You have three possible outcomes and two of those are only if there are: Most people will learn what they need to fight, hunt, forage and build, gain their skills to do this successfully and build up some stocks to go out and find their homes elsewhere. We ask that you NOT build in our hunting grounds as this will ruin things for other hunters in the future. There are so many other viable places to build and we love to help you scout them out. Another option is becoming a permanent resident of The Academy Either helping us lead, teach and direct our new players or keeping the land in great repair. This is only if there is an opening. You must be premium for this option. The final option is becoming a permanent resident of Tanalorn itself. Again, only if a position is available there. You must be premium for this option. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What The Academy has to offer: § Our help with tools and weapons (to the best of our abilities). § 2x3 houses with a large yard. § Bed in your house. § Horses and Cattle (to borrow while you are here). § Carts for you to borrow (while you are here). § Mine off deed of varying types and qualities. § Well on site. § Altars for all three Gods. § Coastal property. § 1 Templar Guards. § 50 Ql Guard Tower. § Rowboat for Academy students use only. § Meals are provided until you are able to cook (perm residents always). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What more The Academy will have: § Market at Tanelorn docks to sell your merchandise. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What we, as a community, have to offer: § To be part of a community. § Friendship and Trust (open community). § Semi-relaxed environment. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What we expect from you: As Temporary Resident: § Manners and respect. § Someone who gives as much as they take. § Willingness to learn. § Desire to help out and work as a team. § Ability to follow directions and listen The Academy or Tanelorn leaders.< § Honesty (thievery will get you on KOS). § To be able be on often; if you don't log in for 2 weeks your house will be given away. Arrangements can be made in advance for longer absences if you make arrangements in advance with The Academy or Tanelorn Elders. § Willingness to help out other students. § Basic or Premium are okay. § Must speak English. § Willingness to take part in community projects. As Permanent Resident: § Manners and respect. § Willingness to learn. § Desire to help out and work as a team. § Someone who gives as much as they take. § Ability to follow directions and listen The Academy leaders. § Honesty (thievery will get you on KOS). § To be able be on daily, even if for a couple of hours. § Willingness to help out other students. § Premium player for permanent resident. § Must speak English. § Willingness to take part in community projects. § No warnings on your account.</p> § Know this game is for you, we do not want to recruit people who quit after a week. Wurm is not for the faint of heart. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Academy Rules § You are allowed to work on Academy projects; if you can't then our Academy isn't for you. § You will not grief other students or players. § You will NOT steal, cheat or anything else that will cause harm to The Academy or its students. § You will follow the guidance of the Mayor and The Academy leaders. § You will not mix low quality items with the high quality one in the bulk storage containers. § Respect other members and be polite. Grievances will be held in p.m.’s, not Freedom. § You will not kill penned animals unless given specific permission. § You will not take over someone else's job unless they have given permission (i.e. only miner mines and only the cook butchers things killed by the Templars). § If you want to practice your mining skills and you are low level you will mine in an off deed mine. § Trees must be replanted after cut. This is what The Academy will look like when done. If you are interested in joining our village please contact myself, Harvest, or Lucard in game or send a p.m. to me on the forum. Please do not send Lucard a private message as he does not check them. Please don't post here as I don't get notified and forget to check. Thank you.

Any tools you'd need and not able to craft yourself. 1-2 free horse for travelling purpose. Bed, forge, oven and access to meals. Great Alliance with alot of helpful people spread across the server. Due to the limited space on this deed, it is not suited to handle farmers and breeders. It is however ideal for hunters, smiths, carpenters etc. Also if you're just looking for a temp. place to hang your hat untill you find your own spot, you're welcome. If you end up living here I do expect you to be active, and if you're going to be offline for longer periods of time give me a fair warning (either forum PM or catch me ingame). People offline for more than 2 weeks without notice will be evicted. This is to avoid having 'empty' houses occupied. Any questions etc can be posted as a reply to this post, via PM in forum or you can try and catch me ingame, name is same as here, Guruen. 23. -Tanelorn- First and foremost we are drama free. Currently Tanelorn is in deep need of a Mason. If this is your area of expertise or one you would like to persue then please contact Harvest or send a message in the forum. If Harvest isn't on game you may contact Huntgrem and have her message Harvest off game and expedite Harvest's return or at least find out when she will be back on. We have changed the way that Tanelorn recruits. If you are interested in joining Tanelorn you must first be a villager of The Academy. Please view the link Here. We have done this to ensure all villagers get along before inviting. Also, to make sure we all are pursuing the same goals. This saves a lot of drama and transitioning and makes for a much smoother family dynamic. We hope to talk to you soon. We are conveniently (or not so conveniently) located in the far north east near Cherrywood Isle. On the Dump Map we are located at X42.5, Y42.5 and on the Darkmalice Map we are at 53-BC. About us: Tanelorn is still undergoing a lot of construction. Most of the digging is done. That doesn't mean we don't have a lot still to do (so if you are looking for great skill gains you better hurry). We have started building our permanent structures. Tanelorn is a great place for you to come, skill, and help out with community projects. Currently we are looking for new villagers, however we do NOT need blacksmiths, miners or cooks. Please do not try to talk us into giving you these positions as it will not happen. We also allow people to come and join our community on a temporary basis to get their feet wet before moving on to their own deed or another village. For all residents, please only apply if you are mature yet don't mind adult humor and foul language (though it doesn't happen often but we do get a hair up our fannies sometimes). Permanent residents must be premium. What this village has to offer: § Our help with tools and weapons (to the best of our abilities). § Small temporary houses with a small yard (perm residents). § Small temporary house w/o a yard (non-permanent). § Tons of farm area. § Lots of trees. § Horses and Cattle (to borrow while you are here). § Mine off deed. § Wells on site. § Altars for all three Gods. § Coastal property. § 1 Templar Guards. § 2 Guard Towers (5 guards each) § Ships for your use (Knarr, Sailboat, Rowboat). What more this village will have: § Large permanent houses with large yards. § Large groves of trees. § Large workshops for all to use. § Sermons for priests. § Large dock with large shipbuilding workshop. § Market at docks to sell your merchandise. What we, as a community, have to offer: § To be part of a community. § Friendship and Trust (open community). § Semi-relaxed environment. § Private house with beds. § BSB and chest in your house. § Community forge and oven (until perm houses are up). What we expect from you: As Permanent Resident: § Manners and respect. § Willingness to learn. § Desire to help out and work as a team. § Someone who gives as much as they take. § Ability to follow directions and listen to village leaders. § Honesty (thievery will get you on KOS). § To be able be on daily, even if for a couple of hours. § Willingness to help out other villagers. § Premium player for permanent resident. § Must speak English. § Willingness to take part in community projects. § No warnings on your account. § Know this game is for you, we do not want to recruit people who quit after a week. Wurm is not for the faint of heart. Village Rules § You are allowed to work on village projects; if you can't then our village isn't for you. § You will not grief other villagers or players. § You will NOT steal, cheat or anything else that will cause harm to the village or its villagers. § You will follow the guidance of the Mayor and village leaders. § You will not mix low quality items with the high quality one in the bulk storages. Tanelorn is ever changing and it's just too hard to post updated pictures all the time. I am posting a link that Lucard updates periodically with changes in our terraforming project. The best thing to do is just come see us. I will however post our current end result. This too changes as our vision changes but as our village grows so do our needs. If you are interested in joining our village please contact myself, Harvest, or Lucard in game or send a p.m. here on the forum to Harvest. Please do not send Lucard a private message as he does not check them. Thank you.
  24. Hello folks, im Selva, i'm 22, i started playing Wurm Online since the end of July. One week after i've started playing, i met some good guys who were recruiting ppl to their villages. However, all the 5 villagers, including the mayor and co-mayor, went away at the beginning of August, moren than 2 away months now. So , im alone, in a ghost deed, with lots of buildings locked and about to get off deed, since the upkeep money is almost gone. Why i dont put more money at the deed's bank?! Well, im almost sure they will not come back, unfortunelly, and i have no interest in feeding a ghost deed which i wouldn't have, at least, the minimum control of even my house. So, cut to the point, im looking for a new deed at Celebration, who has a nice place, decent people and recruit me as a free villager, not a slave or a second class citizen. -My location is near TapDance -Not premium at the moment, but, obviously i have plans to be -Have some stuff that might help the recruiter, if not a super advanced wealthy deed. - I'm a good villager, you can check about me with the players : Reyaa, Pepeford, Hooter, Harvest, Feasd pr Maiya.
