  1. We were talking in Pristine earlier and someone was wanting to sail to Release but felt they didn't have a compelling enough reason. The conversation then kind of led into the idea that it would be cool to have certain resources specific to a server, such that people would then have a reason to sail from say Pristine to Release. These resources specific to a server would serve the purpose of generating some trade (and people skilled in obtaining and transporting them.) The ideas we tossed out were server specific ores, possibly stones, woods, and animals. It was thought it would not be possible to transfer the animal itself but rather resources such as ivories, furs, etc.
  2. Ok this is simple lets have a vote on does wurm need to change. Yes or No
  3. I'm not sure exactly where to put this thread, but the Town Square seems as good a place as any. I've noticed when browsing the trade section on the forum that a lot of people put their items for sale up as images, same with the auctions. I've missed a lot of ads when using the search function because of this since images won't show up in text searches. There are other things to think about as well when making threads more visible, which saves me time so I can be lazy \0/ Yay? Some general pointers to make your posts easier to find in searches Take the time to post the info about the items in text in your post. A picture of them might be good as a quick overview, but it won't show up in a forum searchChoose a descriptive "Topic Title". Compare "Selling stuff" with "Selling carpentry, bs and more"Make use of the "Topic Tags" that appear under the "Topic Title". Carefully choose the 10 words that you think people are likely to use when looking for the item you're selling. Separate different words with a commaPut the most important tag first in the list for a good overview when browsing the threads in the forum since all might not fit on the lineDouble-check your spelling. If you write "pcikaxe" instead of "pickaxe" your thread won't show up in a search for "pickaxe"Try to avoid making a combined "Want to buy" and "Want to sell" thread since that can only go in either the WTB section or the WTS section and it's possible to use search words in specific parts of the forum. If I search for an item for sale in the WTS section but you put it in a combined thread in the WTB section my forum specific search won't find it
  4. I have a card, it's nonrefundable to the store i bought it from and i bought it specifically for wurm, however it is only usable to stores in america . I want to trade it for either in-game money worth $20 USD (16 silver?) or premium time and the silver to cover the rest. (I'm not sure how that works) it doesn't work if i try using through Paypal or any other provider, it's just a card, but i do know it would work for steam, humble bundle, and other american online stores. From what i'm hearing from other people they are skeptical to make such a trade, but i'm out of options. With the steam thing, i could add it to my own wallet then buy a game worth $14 or so as a gift (loose price range, can talk), then trade it for 10 silver if anyone is more interested in that. A workaround would be even better, it's a Vanilla Mastercard to those questions
  5. So, here is the story. I am looking for sleep powders, but I am wanting to try out the barter system. In the past, I have sold blacksmithing tools tiered at 70 QL with 50+/50+ for 1.5s. My understanding of sleep powders are that they are worth about 1.5s as well. *Expanding my market a bit to include 90 QL pelts/whetstones with 50+50+ on them at the same cost of 1 sleep powder! My offer to you is a 70QL blacksmithing item with 50+ wind and circle in exchange for one of your sleep powders. *I observe the law of smithing in that I will not stop improving until I hit lump. You may get a 70 QL tool or it may turn out 76, who knows? *There are no additional fees associated with high casts. If I promise you a 50+ cast, you will get a 50+ cast for the same price, regardless of if it is 56 or 102. Also, please note that sleep powders cannot be mailed, so the handoff will need to be done in person. I have a fast horse and can travel a bit, but if you are far, please meet me in the middle somewhere. I am not able to deliver to other servers, but if needed, I can meet you at a coastal point on deliverance. So, who wants to step up to the plate and try their luck with (potentially) getting an awesome tool? I can be contacted in this thread, a PM on the forum to this account, or Battlepants when I am online.

  8. WTS/T Gems

Gems range from 1 - 60~ QL Prices are based on cash rate (1,5c, 2,5c respectively), if your offer is an item or items (materials such as rocks, planks, etc included), the rate is a little higher (2c, 3c respectively). All gems sold for now, please do not close as I will update this thread every time I get more. Please check back soon for next load!
  9. title explain its self looking for a white drake set/spyglass for trade(sliver will be added either way) or other cool items you think is worth it also can sell in both euro and sliver
  10. I have been looking at the price structure in Release, and when I ask how people get to a price most people say "ten iron per action". I am interested in this system and would like to know if anyone can shed some light on this. I do not want to hear about all the loss of material in creation, as, tbh, I think it is not right to charge your customer for stuff you did not create/did not harvest, neither is it the customer's fault if you want to trade stuff but have low skill and experience failures. Now that Release has been active for a long period of time, I believe we should be revisiting the prices set for the server right at the start when everyone was still getting heaps of fails on creation (no longer the case) and everyone was getting far less crops (no longer the case). It seems to me there are some people who set some prices right at the start of Release, and now everyone else is just asking the same prices. If people or smaller private traders are charging the way I am listing in this post, please let me know by leaving a comment, or by pm me on forum. Here is what I could come up with using the charge per action formula: 1. For 1000 veggies the normal price is 1s. If you are a farmer (the people I assume would be selling veggies as a trade) you would do the action of sow, harvest, and get 6 to 7 veggies (no raking) or 7 to 8 veggies or more, (with one more action of raking). This means that say for 3 actions (sow rake harvest) you get 6 veggies. Why are veggies then not priced at 50c per 1k? 2. Cooked meat: Kill, butcher, cook. Same as above, you could say an average of about four meats per mob, for six actions you get three to four meats. Hence following the logic of 1 iron per action, cooked meat should be priced at 2s for 1k (in most cases this seems to be correct) 3. Planks: You chop the tree then chop it up into six logs, then saw. So you get 6 planks per log, 6 logs per tree (for argument's sake), so that is 36 planks per tree, for 43 actions. Following the charge per action formula, this means a thousand planks should cost 1s20c. 4. Small nails: Mine a lump, Make 6 small nails. 7 Actions, 6 nails. So 1k small nails should cost 1s 16c 67i 5 Large nails: Mine a lump, make 4 nails. 5 actions, four nails. Large nails should cost 1s25c for 1k 6. Bricks: Mine a shard, make a brick. 1k should cost 2s. 7. Mortar: Dig 20kg sand (one action), dig 2kg clay ten times to get 20kg, combine twenty times to get 20 mortar (1kg clay plus 1kg sand make one mortar iirc). This means 31 actions for 20 mortar. Mortar should cost 1s55c for 1k, not 3s when using the 'per action' formula of pricing . 8. Iron ribbons: Mine three iron lumps, create one ribbon. Four actions, one ribbon. 1s33c per 1k ribbons. 9. Lumps: Every action of mining is one action only. In reality the price should be 20i for one lump regardless of the ql. If there is a price for the ql, the lowest ql lumps should not be much more than 20i per 1 lump, yet it seems to be priced at about 10 to 60, per lump (depending on type of ore). In honesty, then the same should be said about ql in veggies/crops, planks, nails, bricks, mortar etc. Quality pricing seems to be in effect for lumps and logs, I assume bc of their value in imping. Following this logic, you can now work out the price of creation for items e.g. let's say bsb: 25 planks plus four large nails plus one ribbon: 3c for planks plus 50 irons for nails plus 13.3 irons for ribbon is 3c 63i each. Add say 3c for your time and that makes it about 6c65i per bsb. Other random prices I have heard: Horses: Five speed horses are being priced at say 1 to 2 s for a horse, yet for a 5 speed bison people are asking from 2.5 to 4s. I would be interested to hear from someone who is charging the same for bison as for 5 speed horses (1 to 2 s per bison). Logs of over 72ql ranging from 3c to 25c per log - if you are selling for around 1c to 3c for logs of over 72ql, please pm me or leave a comment to this thread. I would like to ask people who sell within the range I mentioned above, to please pm me here on forums or leave a comment to this thread. Thanks!

  12. Looking to get rid of these bricks as I have decided to move. I am located near Goring Docks 4x 14y on Deliverance. The bricks are ~26.5 ql when averaged. It is possible for me to deliver.
  13. As title suggests, I have hundreds and hundreds of medium QL logs (40-50) all the way up to 70QL logs that are, at the moment, rotting. I am in dire need of massive amounts of dirt, so I would be more than willing to trade logs for dirt. Most of them are Maple and Pine. General bulk prices would mean that 100 logs would be equal to 1k dirt, however I am willing to flex on this because, as I said, I have ridiculous amounts of logs. If anyone is interested, give me a PM here and we can work something out. EDIT: I will be doing my trades from the west coast of Deliverance, at approx. 4x 26y. May be able to travel small distances, however I am on a tight schedule as of recently.
  14. starting 25.01.2014 Greetings Fellow Wurmians "The Petre's Transport & Storage" company is looking for nice place to locate the warehouses. The company needs small buildings in a lively settlements. If your deed has some unused bulidng which could be used as warehouse don't hesitate to message Petre. Here is the list of things that we require from settlements: Deed must be inhabited, we don't care about the theoretical number of deed settlers what's matter is the average amount of people online Deed must have area open to everyone with building that can be adopted as warehouse (any building will do). Optional ones: Easy access to warehouse is welcomed - labyrinths of walls and fences are not welcomed - company belives that the amount of active people provides safety The building tighter the better. Trustworthy settlers who want to run business are welcomed. What we provide: access to trade network that will give you profits a way to attract new citizens a chance to become one of the most influential Desertion trade centers transport & storage services (read more below) STORAGE & TRANSPORT SERVICE As i noticed during my merchant's work it happens that people who want to exchange goods aren't online in the same time. I would like to propose solution for that inconvenience: The Storage & Transport service - how it works? From the seller perspective: The seller leaves his cargo at one of the warehouses along with instruction: to which warehouse it should be delivered for how much it should be sold to whom it should be sold In the meantime the authorized person writes down the details of the transaction on papyrus and put cargo in the warehouse. The goods between our warehouses flows a continuously, within a hour or a few the cargo will reach its destination waiting for the buyer. The buyer will be shouted to retrive his goods, from the warehouse. Warehouses will be placed in strategic locations you it will not be Necessary for you to travel much in purpose of selling your goods. From the buyer perspective: buyer recieves the shout from warehouse emplyee and goes to the warehouse buyers pays the price which was set by seller and some small fee for service and gets his cargo.
  15. I have 4 million plat and also 2 kroon's on Eq on Morrel-thule server want to trade for silver on here since game cost 10 silver per month and that's equal to 1 krono cost 350,000 looking at exchange rate of 30 silver for 1 million platinum
  16. I'll start with criticism, remember i don't want to insult anybody this is just my point of view. PROBLEMS: Despite the potential of game and the possiblities it offers, servers i've seen are like big ghost towns, Maybe i will give some examples: We have tons of houses with beds that stays empty and owner use them for hour per week - but finding a bed for rent is like win in lottery. We have maaany ports and ships built - but no organized naval transport. The devs give us possibility of using carts for transport - but there is no possibility to transport your goods from point A to B, other than pulling your cart by yourself. ( transport service is perfectly possible with game engine but still nobody offers it) Allmost all settlements have access to mine - but there is no chance you could buy iron from them. There is tons of farms but still its almost impossible to buy food anywhere. There are many skilled players who working together would create marvelous items, but since trade is rare and settlements are sooo dispersed (and sparsly inhabited) the chance you meet somone helpfull are small This situation is basically against any economic rules - its just waste of space resources and time. Despite of tons developed settlements each and every new player start as poor beggar and has to walk the same boring path as everyone else before in aim to be self-sufficient (which is imho to large extent waste of time). If you don't belong to settlement there is no way you can interact with them - this makes gameworld one big uncivlised graveyard. What is the point of creating a new settlement which does exactly the same thing as every settlement before it? The things would SOOOO much easier especially for new players if there would be some real trade. Why all the settlements are closed enclaves which doesn't provide outside world with any usefull goods or services? I don't know the answer maybe the rest of players like that situation - not me. SOLUTION So i propose an idea to solve it: "Open Economy Project" The aim of project is to create a set of basic services for all players of Desortion server. Something that will resemble real medieval economy. Our aim is not to build new things but use modified existing infrastructure to provide services. Transporting network - renting a carts and boats, for travelling from post/port A to post/port B. Mines - with all needed eqipment to start mining, well lit and eventually guarded. Charcal stations - for fueling blacksmiths Workshops and blacksmiths - for basic tool creation. Inns - with beds for rent an kitchens for hungry travellers, The locations of all of those will be known to everyone even to raiders (they also form player community). All elements of OEP will be connected by trade network and will exchange goods between them (thats the point). Every player will be able to: buy goods from OEP for fair price or get them as reward for work some of OEP venture or just take them for free if the good is not that valuable The aim of project its to provide player community with the greatest amount of goods and tools using the minimal possible amount of resources and buildings. Well i will start with mine as I think it will be the most useful for new players If anybody is interested in helping the project pm me: my ingame nick is Petre. I will report about the progress (if there will be any) in this thread.
  17. Hi! So, I have been playing Wurm for quite a while now and I've learned a lot about many parts of it, but one thing that has always completely escaped me is trade, merchants, and the economy. I have heard a lot of people say there is an economy out there and things can be made and bartered or sold, but I just have never been able to have any luck at it. Whenever I have tried asking around everyone seems to be completely self sufficient and to not really need anything. I would love to be able to find something to produce that is needed and put the work in to become very good at it, I just can't seem to figure out what my options are. I also seem to be having a really hard time understanding how the merchant system works. Probably the biggest thing that gives me trouble though is that even if I do find someone interested in something I can make, I have absolutely no idea how to price things fairly. I have heard a lot of people talk about 1 silver for 1,000 actions. That's fine for things like stone and dirt, but I'm completely at a loss for things like horses, charcoal/steel, weapons, tools, boats, etc. If anyone has any advice or links to recent (or timeless) blogs/guildes I might not have seen yet, I would really appreciate it. What I would really love is if someone would be willing to take a little time and chat with me about it and help me answer some of my questions. I am located on epic. Thank you! ~Bree
  18. I was thinking, my friends keep asking to get them some premium time, Wouldnt it be easier to be able to buy a "Token" that is bought from the shop and given to your ingame inventory or bank, and you can trade or sell it to someone who in turn gets premium time worth the token time the price should be the same as buying premium time, the token doesn't give sleep powder to the one who uses the token only to the account that bought it It will give another way to help friend get premium and give money to the Devs "safer" than buying a referal So what do you guys think? probably have it look like a small hourglass?
  19. i think a better way to allow new playersto make money woul be to allow merchants to buy items. even better if u allowed some kind of linking to bsbs to store what they buy. i seen that in other games and some people will try to abuse it with ridiculous prices, but that happens already with merchants and i dont think its a big problem.
  20. It would be wonderful if you could see your banking transactions when examing your bank, similar to the village history at the tokens. This would allow people to see who paid them what for COD items or when they sent to what player. Mail history would be great too.
  21. Hello! I was thinking it would be great to have a cluster based trade channel for the chats about tradeing, adverting, work/service offering and all kind of chan in this subject. Each cluster (epic, old freedom, new freedom) get a new chat tab and all the servers which part of that cluster can chat with each other. In this way the GL and normal chanels will not "spamed" with trade links and adds.
  22. A Merchant owner can opt in to a system where the merchant's goods are uploaded to a searchable index or database. Each item's listing would need something to help locate the merchant, ability to examine the item, and all the things you see now when interacting with a merchant. If we could accept map coords that would be great, otherwise the name of deed the merchant is on would suffice as location. We could leave prices off the listing. My goal here is to help folks find who has what where. It is not to make it easy to undercut other sellers. Wasting time finding things you want to buy is not fun. YOU CAN NOT BUY OR STOCK GOODS FROM THE INDEX! Dealing with physical goods require you physically be next to the merchant. I'm not sure where we would access the listing. Some options could be enchanted bulletin boards, an out of game web page, or an in-game UI window accessible by default. Search options don't need to be overly complicated. I'd be happy with searching for say a, "shovel" and sorting the filtered result by quality.
  23. Just as the topic says, I'm looking for a price check on 11 hand mirrors, silver (3 are 70ql, 8 are 60ql). Please post or pm me here if you know.
  24. I would like to ask your opinion about how can you sold farm items with merchant. My idea is, if I put 100 vegg to a backpack it can be placed to the merchant. The problem is with cotton and wemp due the backpack can't contain 100 from those. Do you think it can work in this way? Have you got any other idea? Thanks all opportunity!
  25. I have played some game that are free and games that charge by the month or that charge by the item. None of the games I have played are the same as Wurm. You get to play up to lvl 20 without premium. After premium you have to find work. Thats life. In real life you have to get a job after you are old enough. Its the same here. You dont have to be a master craftsman to find work. I have played for about 2 years and I see ways to make money. I know players who pull real money out, thats a bit harder but to just earn premium is not that hard. I want to give a few examples of how you can play for free and enjoy yourself while doing it. -------------------------------- I was on my boat going to my gold mine. On the way I saw an open mine. Outside the mine was a box full of logs. Lots of logs. It also had nails. there are players looking for fences to be built. Yesterday some guy wanted to buy dirt. We all get free shovels. A week ago a pirate killed me and took my things. He sold them and was paid with paypal. Im not upset. I made a mistake. Point is you dont have to pay to play this game. If you are young and dad wont let you use his credit card. Well it is time to get a job in wurm and build your own house and be your own man. This game is full of old people with money be kind and work hard and you will find loyal friends. Even loyal bandits who have no problem sinking your ship and sending you home naked
