  1. Had this happen to me more than once: From SW corner of Pristine, sail straight south to Release (works great), then once crossed to Release, head straight West to Xanadu.... This is where the "sticky corner" is. I get a message saying I am about to cross to another island, then splash, I drop into the water, but don't cross over. Try moving and get the message "strong currents etc" and can't move. Try embarking,and get thrown overboard. Only way out of this jam is GM support, which I have done more than once. They are aware and requested I post here. Currently, I just have to avoid the corner, but that corner is the best way to get to my deeds in the NE of Xanadu. Thank you! Still being builded up What do we expect from you? • Be active player • Be nice What can we offer? • Stable village, since Exodus was opened, has over one year in upkeep • Improving tools, armors, weapons and anything else • Enchants, mostly Vynora (coming soon), sometimes Mag or Fo • Animals • The place is and will be great for gathering skills (farming, woodcutting, mining, digging) • No need to pay upkeep • Hunting few tiles from deed • Access to most of the boats in the big dock (soon) • It's up to you if you participate village projects • And more Ask your questions, i will gladly answer them

Undeeded, unused land across older servers gets gummed up by ruins and abandoned terraforming, leaving these servers 'stale' and pushing the same players to move to each new server for a bit of freshness before leaving a mess behind. What if the game could actually revert unused land back to a more pristine condition? One of the things Wurm needs is a deeper mechanism to return undeeded land to nature, particularly slopes. Something on the order of weekly run a batch check for every tile edge and if it qualifies, shift 1 dirt from the high end to the low end. Slope has to be above a certain threshold; 40 or maybe even 30. Higher corner can't be at rock level. Neither corner can be adjacent to a wall or fence. Couple that with a similar check to see if a given corner is the highpoint of the surrounding 4 corners. If so, and it's more than , say 5-10 dirt above all of them, then lower it 4 and raise the others 1. Add to that even higher decay for pavings that have more than two adjacent tiles not paved and some mechanism to kill hedges. Decay rates for furniture might also need a look. Usually long after the rest has fallen away, you still find a bed, bsb and chest in the woods somewhere. Obviously, all this applies on Off-Deed. The other thing it needs is a Salvage Skill. By giving a player a long timer action that might result in some useful materials you encourage players to clean up ruins themselves. Checks can be put in to prevent casual grieifng and affect pvp like: Only in your own kingdom influence. Not on a deed of which you aren't a citizen/have permission. Not from an intact (has all ground floor exterior walls) building of which you are not on the writ.
  4. Just got dis-connected and can't log back in. Connection is timing out so I'm getting a "Cannot launch application" error.
  5. THis has likely been discussed before, but I would love to allow my settlement forms and writs transfer between servers. I once lost a deed on another server, because I forgot how much time I had in upkeep and returned just a little too late to feed the meter. It is also a huge pain to have to travel multiple hours, just to reach a server, to enable permissions, etc, then head home to your main server. The current model almost makes it a requirement to just leave a deed holder on each server, rather than having a single character with deeds on different servers. I have no issues putting my papers in separate satchels to keep them sorted.
  6. As I said in another post. being ported back to deli from xanadu is unrealistic and added pain to travelling cross servers for many people. Even though it does effect me to much I can see where It can pain alot of people. I suggest we have a portal window not unlike the portals at the tutorial area, that we can choice to put us on the server of choice 1-4 (freedom old cluster) Crossing from the old cluster is fair enough in how it works, but going the other way adds an extra leg that really doesn't need to be there. I know a portal window popup isnt ideal, but it's a good remedy to the current situation.
  7. Server lag

    Sense the release of Xanadu I have been experiencing some extreme lag. Before it was released I almost never saw the refreshing thing at the bottom of action windows. Now when I right click, it will stay refreshing for a minimum of 3 seconds and up to 15 seconds (about 5-6 seconds on average). This seems to happen the most during wurm prime time when there are a lot of players online. I am also getting disconnected frequently (about once per 30 minutes). The lag has gotten so bad that it is almost impossible pvp and about anything but creation crafting. My internet is not bad, 26mbps download and 6mbps upload. I have also heard of this happening to a few others. I also play mostly on Elevation and am connecting from Oregon, USA.
  8. Hi fellow players please take few minutes to vote all opinions are welcome good or bad. IMO I think this will help devs improve the game by knowing what the community want. Once we get some proper readings from the votes we can then all come up with ideas to improve what is already interesting game. Thank you
  9. We were talking in Pristine earlier and someone was wanting to sail to Release but felt they didn't have a compelling enough reason. The conversation then kind of led into the idea that it would be cool to have certain resources specific to a server, such that people would then have a reason to sail from say Pristine to Release. These resources specific to a server would serve the purpose of generating some trade (and people skilled in obtaining and transporting them.) The ideas we tossed out were server specific ores, possibly stones, woods, and animals. It was thought it would not be possible to transfer the animal itself but rather resources such as ivories, furs, etc.
  10. So I want to be apart of the landgrab on Xanadu, but there's only one problem. Where will it connect to other servers? I'm not going to plant a deed if it turns out it may be on the opposite side of connections. Can we get an official heads up on this?
  11. Just as the title says, allow you to check your own merchants when you are on a different server than the one it is planted on.
  12. Is there a public API devs can access to make tools for Wurm? I feel like there would be a lot of potential for 3rd party desktop, mobile, and web apps if we could make calls to the server. Are there any plans to make something like this available in the future? For those unfamiliar, I am suggesting a system similar to that of Eve Online. Each entity (character, village, alliance) would have a unique API key they could supply to an application outside of Wurm. This could allow apps to serve information to the player while they are out of the game or in a web browser in a format different than that shown in-game. You could potentially have an iPhone app that told you things like the contents of your bank or how much prem time is left on your character. Those are simple examples, but the potential to make very strong tools exists if the proper access is given. Market tools are mostly what I am interested in personally. Also, free Wurm-verse development can't be bad.
  13. I am on a public network, and the game is not fully connecting to the game server. It loads the environment, than sticks in the connection. Is there anything I can do here?
  14. Here is my First impression of the PvP server, Chaos, done by someone that has never been there. I know I'll get mixed feedback about this, but remember, I come from a PvE server as well.   15. I was thinking wouldn't it be cool if we had a active streaming web cam on the physical server? I would feel way better.. We could literally watch the LEDs. To expand this more.. We could send in like xmas lights for the servers 42rack, brighten it up a bit. Rosedragon could draw it a picture, the team could tape it up near by.. things like that. Wouldn't it be fun to look up the model and watch the LEDs do post. It would be cute. Edited to sounds less crazy and spell check.

  20. I have been traveling and each time i cross a server boarder the ground snow is gone. The tree textures are fine but the ground ones bug out back to the fall ones. note: this has happened on two computers at two separate locations and isps edit: i try a refresh in console and get this.. "Null tile type: 39 at (264,30)! Please let client developers know!"
  21. One of my biggest problems with Wurm is: there is absolutely no economy whatsoever. The biggest perk of the game is that you can be anything and do anything. But nothing really sells, because everyone can make it. So, I suggest introducing resources that are unique to a certain server. For example, Adamantium veins on Deliverance, Dragon Scales (only an example) on Exodus, etc, etc. People would either have to travel servers to mine it themselves, if they could find a mine that hasn't been claimed, or would have to buy from someone who owns a deeded mine area, etc. I don't think existing ores should be taken off servers, but maybe add some.

  23. Well, this is an old problem, and I hoped it had been solved by now. After an unexpected server crash (as we had on the Deliverance server today) horses may not be where you last left them. Instead, they are known to spawn anywhere along one of the paths you rode during the last 24 hours! (I know that GMs will be able to help you locate them, but still this is very annoying.) Horse positions should be saved (and backuped) frequently, at least every time you disembark.
  24. -RP Server Hello peeps, I bring this up because I'm new to the game and one thing I was hoping to find is a good RP server where the players are moderate to hard core roleplayers, the first thread I found on here about this is "Freedom Roleplaying Server" now archived. I don't agree that there needs to be policing or players voting people off. I just think that a server should be made and clearly designated RP server, if a player comes in and is disruptive of the experience there should be a feature in place to report them with a screenshot clearly showing the players offense. Which would ban that player from that server. I think this is a pretty simple idea and a potentially very enjoyable one for the RP community. Personally I find the variety of jobs a person can take begs people to come and enjoy a great RP experience. - Stores Since I am new I'm not sure how the store system works. If I become a blacksmith am I able to set up a shop that players can access and do I need to remain there to have the shop open? If creating shops requires a player to stay in his shop then I would also like to recommend hiring employees. Where you would have to purchase or find materials and your employees can create items and sell them from your shop, this could be offline PCs or hired NPCs. For the role playing experience having part of your character's story working a part time job would be very nice in my opinion.
