Putting my rare ropetool up for auction. I have tested it and guarantee it is able to produce ropes up to 1ql higher than the ql of the wemp. Have not tested that on 99+ ql wemp, so no idea if you can get ropes over 100 ql yet. 80ql with 85 CoC Starting bid 3s Please bid in 1s increments. Auction will end 72 hours from this post.

Good Evening, I'm just wondering about certain rare item information i can't find specifics on, i'm wondering if folks can help me out with this. I've seen a lot of rare items recently, notably butcher knives. They always seem to be low ql, so my question is this: Are you more likely to obtain a rare tool/weapon etc from the 'Creation' process? or are you also as likely to get it though improvement? Should i spam 1000 butcher knives, or imp my personal one for hours on end? Would anybody know which sound option the 'Rare' drum roll falls under? I like to play with my sounds off which leave me wondering if i've already had a rare drum roll and failed obtaining a rare, i'd like to turn this option on so i can keep an eye out on it & also do you get the drum roll at the start of the action or the end? Are you able to still turn an item Rare if you fail the actual improvement action? Again, a lot of the rares i see for sale are generally lower ql (sub 50ql) which could suggest that low ql items are less likely to fail improving, thus successful drum roll gives you a rare? I don't want to be penalised for imping a 90ql item as much as possible (hoping for a rare) when i should just keep sundering/mending and improving at lower QL. Does any stat improve your chance at drum rolls or % chance of turning items rare? Finally, Has anybody done any statistics on rares in order to give you an indication on how often you will get a rare drum roll, your % chance of turning it rare? I saw a post i think Rolf said, which suggested that a rare 'resouce' such as lump, has a small chance it will transfer it's properties onto the item your improving when it is used up completely. Has anybody had much luck with this? If you have your own question about rares, please feel free to post them. Thanks for your help!

Wouldn't it be great if when you hear that drumroll, your action will not fail? It won't necessarily produce a rare - same chance as usual - but at least you don't have to be thinking "Argh if I hadn't failed I'd have a rare tchotchke! Nuuuuu!" After all, the addition of rares to the game was ostensibly a good thing. It's not good being set up and then let down. I don't know maybe I'm just being a crybaby! But rares happen so infrequently that I don't think it would affect crafting if the action were to automatically succeed.
