  1. Seriously, fix these already. When a PvP group is split because one is randomly booted from the boat and can't re-embark in direct conflict, bad things happen. Also very annoying when hitting walls, in mines, on horses, and just generally any time you are involved with a mount or vehicle of some kind. You can't do anything and it rubberbands you as well.

  6. Yes, I'm making another thread about this. It's stupid that PvP players need to keep their backup horses and pets off deed and in a not-so-secure location just to prevent their speed horses and breeding animals from randomly miscarrying and getting diseased. It severely limits PvP and just creates unneeded problems. It results in horse shortages, as well as impacting Epic missions. For example, on JKH, we currently have a mission to sacrifice three (3) calves. Because no one can bring cows and bulls to their deed to breed them (they need the space for horses which is limited by the ratio), we have had this mission for several days now. It is a simple mission that would have been completed within ten minutes of popping up (as it should be for such an "easy" mission) if we were allowed to breed animals on deed without a useless limit that was meant for PvE. In my opinion, it should just be removed entirely from both PvE and PvP, but the severe impact on PvP servers makes this a destructive feature. No horses and pets means no PvP.

  9. Hey everyone, As a lib priest Ive noticed that we dont have many options when it comes to enchanting. For weapons we have Rotting touch and Bloodthisrt but they cant be stacked so that leaves us wit only 1 spell to put on weapons. White-light priests have the ability to stack the different enchantments from all WL priests on weapons, thus giving them an advantage over BL weapons.     Hi guys im back and im really missing Wurm but still don't want to part with my hard earned cash for game that has got worse not better since Xanadu. Server population seems to be worse than ever and ive been in the back ground reading the forums about players concerns but as usual they get slagged off and nothing gets done. So i think its time to stand as 1 if you like me love wurm but but feel the game is lost and going nowhere put your thoughts here. My main thing i want is to see better advertising (Steam it works ) because this game is an Masive Mutiplayer Online Elevation players 37/400 Deliverance players 36/400 Pristine players 24/400 Independence players 54/800 Exodus players 16/800 Celebration players 17/400 Serenity players 51/400 Desertion players 28/400 Xanadu players 262/2000 Golden Valley players 1/400 Release players 45/400 Chaos players 49/800 Affliction players 4/400 Total players 624/8000 Dont look like it to me. An Epic Problem ***Disclaimer: I am a Jenn-Kellon player on the Epic cluster, with not much PvP experience, so while I am trying to be open-minded and unbiased, there are many things I don't know/haven't experienced, especially about Chaos, and other kingdoms on Epic; this isn't supposed to be about kingdoms.*** TL;DR: Hey Rolf, the PvP environment on Elevation sucks! Maybe try implementing a server with landscape-based, conquerable chokepoints and campaign-style warfare. I think the majority of players on Epic (focusing mostly on Elevation here, as it is the "Main PvP Server" for the Epic cluster feel that currently there is a huge lack of PvP content on Elevation. The skirmishes forum thread (main thread for discussing PvP/linking deaths tabs and logs) is filled with players blaming the opposite kindgoms (or kingdom) for lack of action/fun. Idea: Have a server north of Elevation that is approximately the size of Chaos (or bigger, w/e) where there are 3 main kingdoms (or whatever) with similar kingdom mechanics as on Elevation/Chaos, but there is a totally different style of gameplay that involves a huge emphasis on territory, expansion, and incorporates some type of campaign format for warfare. I am bringing in aspects of games like WWIIOL and Planetside into this idea; the entire map would be covered with chokepoints/capturable areas which would provide resources for players, as well as hopefully provide some sort of momentum, so that the entire map would be conquerable by one side, and possibly. IMO, this would be a huge improvement over the current system, where people don't have enough of a reason to go out and fight other players. Sub-Idea: An addition to the above idea could be a total removal of preset kingdoms for the server, and making it a huge map (4x Chaos? more?) where players spawn into the map as one default kingdom (Freedom?) and then can choose to create alliances based on villages, and basically acquire and hold sovereignty by capturing chokepoints and placing deeds/etc. in them (or something.) This would allow large groups of players to settle in many spots throughout the map, and because of the size, only really interact with other alliances close to them. This server would of course be 100% FFA PvP. Quick background(blabla): At the moment the two main PvP servers (I'm not counting home servers because raiding isn't exactly a regular thing, and intra-kingdom PvP is punishable by banishment of accounts) are Elevation (Epic Cluster) and Chaos (Freedom Cluster.) From what I've seen of Chaos, it's got a huge land mass with more of a territorial aspect of warfare, and even then things progress slowly (again, idk much about daily Chaos PvP/gameplay so I won't talk much about it lol.) On Elevation, on the other hand, the server is very small (2048x2048 tiles) and each kingdom has their own little corner of the map, with the hota steppe in the center. There is very little territorial progression, as the map is tiny, and players don't see much cause in spending hours catapulting/digging through defenses of deeds into a part of the map that they won't occupy anyway. The main issue seems to be that Elevation is a tiny map bulit on the idea of kingdoms wanting to expand their territory, which doesn't happen. There's no reason to go raid an enemy except for the lulz and possible loot, which is ok but most players simply won't go out and do this, and there are not really any other options beside that (at least that happen more than once or twice.) If you have thoughts or suggestions to this idea, please post them! IMO, Epic could really use a totally different style/inspiration for warfare, and if you think this idea sucks, or have more to add to it, please post about it! I didn't provide many details, so feel free to add some if you like the idea!

  20. Hello, I know this is yet another thread about the same old fighting system however I am trying to shed some new light to the problem. I will not make any concrete suggestion yet since I am waiting for yours first. Here are a few problems that PvP has and need to be adressed. I formed these idea mostly from this thread and my own experience in attempting to PvP. http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/93673-brainstorm-for-pvp/ 1. I think the most fundamental problem with getting new people in PvP are the high prerequisites before entering the battefield, You basically have to do everything except PvP to prepare for it. 2. The combat mechanics are not rewarding by themselves, it depends too much on stats and the knowledge on how to juggle the system. 3. Wurm is a Medieval Fantasy world, yet PvP tactics have no solid corespondence with the real World, instead gatehopping/champtroll. 4. Battle Outcomes can be very predictable, Why fight if you know you are going to lose or achive nothing if you sacrifice youself. Wurm has an Intense PvP experience. You enter the fight with everything to lose and you can't simply respawn after you are defeated. Fighting is only the end result of a bigger system that involves resource gathering, crafting, politics and planning. This is in my opinion one of the strongest points that make Wurm different from other games and it should be exploited. So do you think these points are accurate? Is Wurm PvP forever doomed to be unsuccessfull due to its sandbox nature or things can change?
  21. A very rough idea off the top of my head for more pvp-conquerable locations. Have not given it much thought. Ley lines crisscrossing the planet of Wurm. Areas where the lines converge or vortices can be rich in life, extremely unstable, etc. Some vortices can have more than two lines intersecting, thus more power. Vortices can move randomly over long periods of time until metaphysically anchored by structure? Structures built upon the exact vortices can tap into the elemental powers to enhance their respective enchants. These structures can be destroyed or conquered. Protected by Valrei animals used by the respective god. Priests of certain faiths can feel the locations of vortices that resonate to the powers of their respective gods. Higher faith needed to channel their god and find more powerful.

Create a new map the size of chaos for epic without home-servers but "home islands" that are factored into the size of the map, because as it stands the current epic maps are either ruined by Valrei events or lack any true definition in land(lack of real mountains,real islands, or just in general lack of contours) or too small(Affliction). No skill resets just a map and item resets.
  23. This is an interesting idea that I had, that I want to test the waters and see what people's thoughts are. Would people prefer if Mag Res/Res stones only protect the gear you have on? I don't think this is a change Epic will want, as they already have the looting code, but I do want to see the response to the idea I had. Also for the Chaos people I added an option to express your desire for the Epic loot code.
  24. So, since I'm unable to post in chaos forums, I'm hoping this is the best place to put this, if not can someone please move it to the correct section? Have you ever wanted chaos to be a bit more "clean?" Less drama? More players? More...Alive? Well, we may share something. I'm thinking about creating a new PMK on chaos, though not your standard PMK. One that's focused On being neutral/allied with all (yes, all) kingdoms. And isn't exactly "at war" with them. I want it to be focused on bringing and training new players, and pve players, how to survive on chaos. There are many things on it that don't exist on Pve servers that are quiet fun. (Valrei mobs for example) The PMK will be aimed more towards helping each other out, surviving, and (maybe if possible) once respected & trusted by each kingdom a "trade" hub (if possible, it would be nice to be at-peace with each kingdom. Not sure if that will ever be possible) overall, were here to let people come to chaos, have a safe place to live, and see what chaos has to offer, before they decide what kingdom/PMK they want to join for the war efforts. (If they ever do, if they wish to stay in the PMK and help out, or just to have fun on chaos, that's great!) It will be our goal to make people want to play on chaos, and to hopefully make the server in general more interesting to everyone. Pvp can be had, and fun, without griefing, blaming, arguments, and drama. What are my personal goal of this? Overall, I want to live on chaos, have that adrenaline you get walking into the wild knowing you could be attacked. But that's not enough, I want to actually be apart of something. I want to be able to craft weapons, armour , tools, and see people using them to defend our kingdom. If you know me from Deli, you know I've made many items, and have only sold once in my entire time crafting. I like crafting for others and making friends with it, not silver. And I'd rather see what my crafting does (defending/assisting the kingdom, watching players raise there skills ect) in short, I want to see what I make actually being used to do something. I also want to be apart of a kingdom that is respected for being helpful to the pvp community as a whole, instead of what everyone "thinks" about the current ones. I know it's a lot to ask for a pvp game, but It's been done before. A long term goal would be to have every kingdom consider us a "ally" though I'm not to sure that would be possible. If we could manage to train players to live on chaos, and then they go to a kingdom of there choosing (or wish to stay in ours and help with what direction we choose) that would be great, and my "overall" goal. I guess would be to create the perfect "safe" environment for players wishing to play on chaos. We of course will most likely need pure pvpers too for this, I doubt every kingdom would leave us alone even if we're not wanting to fight them in any way. So we'll need defenders and if peace is ever broken, attackers to fight back. (Though the PMK initially would try to "ally" everyone in every kingdom/PMK, it most likely won't be plausible to fully do this. I'm sure someone would wish to attempt destroying us) For that reason, we will most likely need a few pvpers that know what there doing, and someone/multiple people that know how to control a few groups of pvpers. (Though we could also use these people for other reasons: teaching people how to pvp, how everything in chaos works, ect) If, we get forced to start raiding someone, there would be a rule. No griefing, take what you thinks valuable if you wish, but screwing things up "just for fun" wouldn't be allowed. (There MAY be exceptions in the future if someone really try's to mess with our own PMK, it could be discussed on trying to fight back and this may be needed, otherwise I don't want to see people purposely making others gameplay miserable) And a overall rule (even if we're at war with them) No arguing with other kingdoms. By this, I mean the forum pvp we always see, and I'm sure it also happens on the game. I'd love for this to be a respected PMK from all other kingdoms/pmks. There won't be any "X just wants it so they can be more powerful" or "X just wants it to screw us over" you get the idea. If someone outside our PMK makes a suggestion, think of how it would benefit ALL of chaos, not just us or another kingdom. The goal of are PMK is to make life better for everyone in the pvp community, not ruin it for others. Anyone and everyone would be welcome to join, as long as they understand we're working for a friendlier community on chaos. And respects that and works for it. As for the PMK itself, there are still many things I need to learn before going through with this. Mostly what it takes to run, and the mechanics. And obviously where we'd put it. But for now I'm just seeing if people think this is a good idea in general, if they think it would work. And if anyone's interested In helping out with it. Edit: Also, I will be paying for the PMK to start it, so no trust issues will go on. (Though, I'm pretty sure by now every knows me for character buying ) but just so everyone knows. And would be nice for every kingdoms POV on this also... Do you think you could work with a "neutral" PMK that is trying to help everyone, while at the same time enjoying chaos? Or would you see us more of a "helping my enemy" type deal? I'd try making it as neutral as possible (can a kingdom even be friendly to both WL and BL though?) and try to make it as fair to everyone as possible. It would be pretty cool to see it become a trusted trade place between all kingdoms instead of having to travel to a freedom server Imo! and if possible to sell services to all kingdoms (if that's even possible) So, what does everyone think?   25. Bow Solution for ALL priests so most people seems don't want all priests to be able use bows. Bows are extremely important on both Land mounted pvp, Boat pvp, and defense where you need to be able to shoot over a low wall. Since both ice shard and fire heart are worthless and work in 0 of these situations ( thou at lest mag gets to use a real bow ). An give then new ish armor changes where now there is a listed glance chance on both frost/fire and acid damages. I suggest the removal of fire heart and ice shard, not sure if fo has a direct attack to remove and unsure of libs direct attack that could be removed. and instead replacement them with a summon-able bow that deals damage comparable to a bow but uses priests skills instead aka channeling / sd /st religion and so on. so a vyn priest should shot ice based damage arrows with no physical component mag fire with no physical component fo acid with no physical component and lib would shot physical arrows that deal an infected wound. removal of bows from mag and lib would be required sure people will have a fit about that but would be required to make the system work how bows decay and number of shots work could be talked out but this at lest provided the basic idea on a priestly solution. edit sigh wrong sub forum
