  4. Yunia's thread on optional starter packs and the ensuing discussion set me to thinking about a couple of things. 1) The current starter equipment is a pretty good selection for a generalist, everyone's got a different play-style and different in-game goals, and some items may not be used much if at all in the first couple of in-game weeks. 2) It's currently really, really hard to get rid of middling-quality tools and other items because the absolute beginners who might have some use for them don't have any money; by the time you get your hands on any coin (or decide to go premium) you've probably skilled up past the point where a 8-12ql mallet or pickaxe is any good to you, even at a handful of iron. So, why not solve both these problems by letting newcomers select their starting equipment from Wurm's economy? The way I would go about doing this is as follows. On completing the tutorial, every player receives a non-transferable voucher for... well, whatever the current starter equipment would cost on the open market I guess; three to five copper, I think? When purchased with a voucher, this equipment cannot then be sold or traded to another player; the in-game description could mention something about it having the owner's name carved deeply into it or painted on with tar or something. Improving it by a lot, ie at least fifteen levels or so, would be the only way to remove this restriction.
  5. Hi, It would be nice to have the sum of coin value displayed somewhere in the windows (trade window between players, merchants, traders, also in inventory). Could work on that way, when someone select some coins the tooltip will show the sum value (currently it shows only the number of coins). Like it does while we select multiple items for combining, but with the value of coins appear instead of the number of them.
  6. I'm selling off a few gold coins in exchange for Euros (or USD) through PayPal. My location is Celebration, but I can deliver to any server on any cluster, including Epic, if requested. Currently I have 0 for sale at - 65€ ($83 USD) per gold coin. Either PM me on the forums, or you can try and get ahold of me by either /tell Xallo, Dark, or Alyeska. I've done plenty of transactions through PayPal before and have never had an issue, and hope to keep it that way. Happy purchasing!

  9. I've been playing (and paying) Wurm for a couple of years. Just came back after a short hiatus and thought I'd post some suggestions that I think would make this game really wonderful and add some long-term paying customers (such as myself and all the members of my village/group/guild/whatever we're calling all the pasty white people I play with since EQ1) I'm listing these in order of importance (for attracting continuing and new paying customers): 1) Towers and Mult-level Dwellings I know there's been some hesitation from the team about adding access to the Z plane, but I beleive building up is imperative. Dwellings should be able to be formulaically built. With a certain level of both carpentry and masonry, you should be able to build a second and third story on a building. Stairs would obviously have to be part of this, but I think this is the next needed expansion. Internal pillars to support second and tiertiery floors could be required once a first floor is (for example) wider than 1 square wide. Internal walls should be included - potentially as mandatory to be "load bearing" for upper floors - more for the look/feel and the requirement to build. Towers players can build and climb including walk-able walls would lead to Castles and this would be a HUGE benefit to Wurm - especially on PVP. 2) Bridges - wood and mason both Wurm worlds are quite beautiful once a healthy community is built up. There are many places a bridge would be perfect and look great as well as be functional. There are gorges (natural and player made) that spanning could be done via bridge. Some could (like cannals) be community projects. 3) Bigger worlds - by factor of at least 10. If you are anything like me, you feel Wurm is VERY,VERY crowded regardless of what server (carebear or PVP) that you're on. One thing I very much enjoy about Minecraft is that the world is HUGE. When the new PVP servers went live, we built a village and didn't have a neighbor for almost 2 months. Now we have 12....ugh... There HAS to be Frontier. I would gladly abandon the villages we've spent months building up if there was untouched land somewhere!! (And pay for it) 4) Dragons - Now I'm wishing! Hellhounds and horses are great, but where are the dragons? There should be dragons that spawn. I don't care if they are centered on certain areas, but there should be fight-able and ride-able dragons in the world, and it shouldn't be easy to beat or easy to ride. 5) NPC Villages - raidable but unbeatable There should be NPC villages that spawn and have loot. There should be AI humanoids that fight as a group so these places are formidable. These could be 10 and 20 group requirements to raid succesfully, but in the end once the village leader is beat, there is some kind of loot and the village quickly rots I love Wurm - it is a great game and I've spent a lot of $ on it over the last 2 years and with some improvements, I will spend a lot more on it and time as well. I think it is the greatest sandbox game out there and hope the devs take this to heart! Thanks Longs/PalletBoy
  10. Hello, Relatively new player here, but I really love Wurm so far. I went sailing around Exodus and Celebration for a bit yesterday and today, and really could not find a barren piece of land I could place a deed that I liked and gave me access to the water. Soooo, I'm looking to buy some instead. I'm talking $USD ka-ching ka-ching. (Or E for you brits and whatnot.) I've got a Paypal business verified account, and can send proof if you need it. What I'm looking for is a large plat of land, around 1 whole map grid in size. (800+ total tiles - Ideally as large as I can get). Relatively flat or hilly, easy enough to terraform. This can be a deed you currently hold, an old abandoned deed with rotting buildings that no one has taken yet, or a blank slate of land you've been holding on to. Alternatively, I will pay a finders fee to anyone who finds some nice land for me to settle on. What I'm looking for: - Very Large - Relatively flat or simple enough to teraform. Not looking to build on a cliff. - Coastal (needs access to the Ocean) - Access to resources within walking distance (at least for trees and iron ore, Clay and tar within a short distance) - Near nice hunting spots. - Ideally not an Island - No preference on server, but I'm quite fond of Exodus. The people are pretty friendly. - Not too developed. Looking to do things myself and experience all I can in the game on my own. Don't really need anything else, other than it to be monster free when I place the deed as I'm not strong enough to survive much yet. I know I'm asking for quite a lot and maybe too much given from what I've seen, there isn't a whole lot of free land available near the water. I'm willing to pay somewhere from $50 - 100 USD/E. I can go higher if need be. My in game name is Lynxis.
