  1. I would like to put forward the suggestion to have deity missions be expanded. This is a two part suggestion: Suggestion 1: Add more than one mission to a Deity at a time; very few people are going to drop everything and "build a temple" especially when it's halfway around the world. Please include other missions, such as building a colossus, or Sacrificing a large number of crafted goods, or a massive number of harvested goods. Suggestion 2: Why not add target missions that could utilize the excesses on a server? Such as sacrificing large amounts of farmed goods, lumber, kindling, etc. (the easier an item is to attain the higher the number of items needed to be sac'ed) For crafting missions, allow crafters to Sac items and have it add to a threshold. using 10, 80QL spears should garner more than 10, 30 QL spears for example.
  2. A GM on my server created a mission and I guess it glitched or something. Now every time we try to set destination to teleport, the mission pops up too, we click send and it says we answered an old question and the mission window is there saying we failed it. We can't set aux data on anything, even packing a tile it pops up this mission. We can't do anything with our GM's because of this. Even manage restrictions on items we can't cause it pops up this mission. We also can't make any other players GM's cause it just pops up this mission and cancels out anything we try to do. What I'm wondering is how can we delete this mission? When we do #togglemission and type the mission name it says failed to find the mission with this name. We're completely stuck, and the only option we have is to reset the whole server, losing everything we did and our other players. Please help us
  3. Iit's very annoying to see bunch of missions like this. Allow spirit gates, obelisks, temples, pylons and shrines to be built at any time, but move them away as mission goals on freedom. For freedom, all of them should be allowed to be built on deed.
  4. Problem in-game: "Description: Magranon urges you to create 40 birdcages lumps." Expected behavior: Should say "birdcages", not "birdcages lumps". Cause: The generic plural for "birdcage" listed in the code is "birdcages lumps" instead of "birdcages". Solution: Omit "lumps" from plural; 40 lashes for developer responsible for copy-paste error.
  5. Valrei scenarios are completely messed up in the last few days. Mag auto-won, carried over items to the next scenario. Nathan killed him. Didn't drop his (old) items, but did drop the items needed for the current scenario, in smaller quantity than he was carrying. It force-relocated a few other of the current scenario items from elsewhere on the map to Mag's home hex. Completely busted and messed up now, and it doesn't look like Mag has respawned since yesterday either.
  6. Rightie.... The scenario/mission system is many years old but its still feels kinda halfdone in certain aspects. Especially the new PMR gods missions which pretty much noone touches atm. So with that said, here is some new stuff to improve it. 1) fix the bug where missions status doesn't switch between enemy/everyone when gods alignment does. (this causes missions to appear doable or undoable while being the opposite) 2) Add colour to the mission progress bar. Red-shaded bar colour for enemy missions. Green-shaded bar colour for missions you have participated in. Available missions that a player hasn't been participated in remains the same as before. In other words: VS It will allow players to quickly identify available missions and easier keep track of the current mission they are doing and also quickly know if they have received sleep bonus from it. Also add a 1 or 2 pixel blue line showing how much you have participated instead of a brand new line. 3) Increase the reward of larger construction projects such as pylons. It's a high difficulty (in other words high fail chance) construction involving 4250 material and terraforming. It takes multiple hours of constructing it and in most cases you are exposed to the enemy during this time. Also divide the scenario points among all participants based on contribution. There is already a list for this... The already excisting plaques. (the plaques list a bit too many players though with no participation... but thats another bug to fix) 4) Greatly increase the scenariopoints/karma of missions that has settlement draining as a requirement and distribute it equally among all players in local that are of the same kingdom as the drainer. 5) If a person doing a valrei structure ritual or tower ritual mission is in a group: Then equally distribute scenario points/karma among the group. 6) Double the rewards of enemy homeserver missions. Increase rewards by half on Elevation. (risk vs reward and promoting pvp) 7) Split scenario point pools of diffrent gods in the spell list. 8) Upon hovering over the scenario point pools currently this is displayed "Scenario Points is a beneficial effect caused by players"... Replace it with information that actually says what it is to newbies. Like "Scenario points are rewarded from missions and have the chance of giving valrei items at the end of a scenario on Epic" 8) Upon hovering over one of the scenario point pools, add a secondary displayed line with the ammount of tickets and the ammount of points to the next ticket and the karma generated from the scenario missions. "Tickets (4), Next ticket (643 points), Karma gained (6700)" sidenote for devs: you only need the already excisting scenario points number to calculate all these things client-sided. 9) Get a ingame valrei map going... ya know... the WIP one posted earlier All the coding excist already and you can borrow some placeholder icons untill proper ones are made if need be Overall I think this will heighten the desire to participate in missions (even if its a PMR god, cuz of that sweet 30min sleep bonus). Especially the more difficult/hostile missions that a lot of people currently pass on. And just in general make valrei and missions feel more complete.
  7. Tosiek now favors Jenn-Kellon kingdoms. Tosiek never received help from Elevation. 5/5/15 882 New mission spawned, still considered enemy. Description: Tosiek asks you to sacrifice 1 of the hidden Soulstruck Eyes. We tested to make sure, sacrificed 1 mission item as a tosiek follower and the mission did not complete. It seems that this system is totally broken, tosiek missions always spawn as enemy regardless which kingdom he favors. I'm not aware of a single tosiek mission completing. If anyone knows any differently please post in this thread.
  8. Playing as a Vynora follower on Xanadu with about 50 Masonry. I tried completing a Magranon foundation pillar mission. The conditions were: SW in Freedom Isles (I'm on Newspring Island... can't get much more SW than that) In a cave (yes) Not on a settlement (the tile I tried to build it on wasn't even on perimeter) On a flat surface (yes; I have enough mining skill to be sure of this) With sufficient ceiling height (I mined the ceiling as much as possible and lowered the floor as well) I tried it in two different caves, each satisfying those conditions, but each time I would get a message similar to "Now is not the time to build this". I asked around, and people are saying that it's possible the quadrant is displayed incorrectly, and that this has happened before. I spoke to a GM about it, but they couldn't do much since the mission had expired by the time we spoke, so they suggested I post here about it instead. I also got confirmation that my religion shouldn't matter for this, since I'm on a Freedom server.
  9. Noticed ongoing mission on Deliverance: slay 40 bulls( Fo's marked enigma). Killed 4 on my farm and got 'epic helper' notifications. After few min noticed mission is gone,. Checked mission window and saw this: You can notice that mission started today at 13:02 my time ( GMT +1) for everyone and 'completed' on 01.01. 70 at 01:00 I joined atr 13:08 my time and mission ended with fail at 13:22 Similar thing can be seen under ' Everyone: Word of Fo' mission, started today at 01:01 my time and says 'completed' also on 01.01.70 at 01:00
  10. The missions is not working the description wants the shrine in the north east of celebration on a 5x5 slabbed area I have the area set went to start the shrine. Received message, [10:27:42]This must be built in the south east.
  11. If it's time for a new mission but the server is down, the new mission never starts. It just happened with Magranon. A mission expired on Elevation during maintenance restart but there was no new mission. It has happened again in the past.
  12. For the tree cutting missions some form of indicator even something as simple as it saying "<diety> dislikes/desires this tree" when you examine the tile would definitely help. I feel like such a greifer chopping whole swaths of forest down hunting for that 1 tree in a 100 doing these.
  13. Don't we all get those times that when you just feel like there is nothing to do, or that you have done something too much and need some change? Not all obviously, but I figure some of us might. Thus, I (carefully) suggest that we add a "chore" -list or a system. Each Wurm day, players are generated a list of chores that you can work around your own village / home, which could be anything from hunting a mountain lion, to mining and smelting a few lumps of a specific ore, to farming some wemp for rope making. Something small and simple, to rich up the wurmian lives. Every player gets a different list. Resetting every Wurm morning, maybe on sunrise? On the rewarding side, I didn't really think of anything, not sure if there even needs to be anything. I'd love to have some decent conversation, throw some ideas back and forth.

Since there's nothing in the Wiki, and the servers are down, I thought now would be an excellent time to provide some info on the SHRINE, a buildable object that is occasionally requested as a criteria for completion of Valrei missions. STARTING THE SHRINE: The shrine, like most buildable mission structures, provides various criteria for the location and terrain of its construction as a part of the mission briefing. As is typical, a 5x5 slabbed area that is flat seems to be the common requirement, as well as a certain area of map, along with various other criteria that sometimes appear (must be greater than 100 steps up, some X must be within Y tiles - i.e. some fruit trees or bushes must be within 5 tiles, etc.). Like most epic mission structures, it can be started with a bit of clay on a slab. Success chance appears to be around 50%, and it did not appear that any materials were consumed or damaged on failure. The unfinished shrine does have a model, unlike the temple and some other buildable mission structures that appear as a question mark bag. In the unfinished state it is approximately the size of a pile of items. MATERIALS: The components needed to construct the shrine (aside from the clay and slab to start) are: 100 brass lump 100 plank 10 small iron nails 10 slab 10 "other items" that are of medium difficulty to obtain. It is not confirmed if the "other items" are constant or randomly generated on each shrine start or mission start, and hence will not be reported or spoiled in this post. CONSTRUCTION NOTES: At time of construction (29-Oct-13), it appears "bugged" like most epic buildable structures, such that on completion you may receive the error message: This can be fixed, per GM replies, by right click -> move -> push/pull one time. The structure will not actually move, but it will become "aligned with the energies" to give mission credit and read as completed. FINISHED STRUCTURE: An example of the finished structure is pictured below. It is approximately 2-3 times the height of a well. It can be improved and repaired using the carpentry skill. Wisdom Mausoleum, located on Serenity/JKH, completed by Covenant and Mirax SCENARIO POINTS/KARMA: Also as of this posting, at time of most recent construction on Serenity, Epic Cluster (29-Oct-13), it appears Scenario Points and Karma are not split amongst the various people who contributed to the construction, despite their contribution percentages being recorded on a plaque on the shrine as with most mission structures. It is not clear if the final piece addition determines who gets the points, or the push/pull action, or the largest % contributor, but as of this post, points were only awarded to one player. GMs have replied stating they would elevate the question of point allocation to the devs for clarification.
  15. Currently the wurm economy seems fairly stagnant. Trade is something only higher level players (or those wishing to invest a fair bit of money) can take up. There are no "small" transactions, only major purchases. The root issue of this is that all currency in game is some investment of real cash. There is also the grind. Why on earth am I digging this patch and putting the dirt back down? What is the point of me making all these needles? You know what, screw this lawn mowing! Pointless activities give a higher reward than meaningful ones, this is a problem that needs addressing. So I propose the following. Each day (24 hour cooldown from completion time) a player can right click on themselves and "seek guidence". A screen pops up with the choices "Crafting" and "Combat". Crafting requires the creation of a certain item of a certain quality. Combat requires the killing of a certain amount of npcs. The general goal is provide about 1 hour of meaningful gameplay. The mission is randomly generated and directly linked to a player's skills, so something like "craft a 50ql needle" is only going to crop up if a player has a mining skill near 50 (49?) and a decent smithing skill.. Upon completion the quest gives a reward Exploration : 25 iron Crafting : 50 iron Combat : 50 iron The reason for a coinage reward is it introduces a small pool of free money that players might be more liberal about spending (15 copper per month per player if a player is on every day). Again, the goal is to encourage minor purchases (along the lines of goods that might normally be thrown out but now have some sale value because people can pay for them).
  16. Hello, I find myself here again to report on some more dubious circumstances regarding Valrei. Libila has once again claimed glorious victory and saw fit to bestow upon her followers a gift of Body Stamina. This gift only applied to those individuals who were online at the time. I'm reporting this as a bug because, as I recall, when Wurm won, all players online or otherwise received a hit to their faith. It seems to me the intention is to reward those players who belong to the winning Goddess's kingdom, however only those who were online reaped the fruits of this labor. As someone who feverishly works to complete missions (High Astronomer Represent), it is a disservice to me, and all others who worked on these goals, to see Libila win as I check my twitter for updates on her progress, check chat logs to see what our reward was, only to get online and not receive it. It seems to me that bugs like this are the biggest discouraging factor for the Epic missions as a whole. Thanks for reading, -Zoots
  17. I know the missions are 'epic only' but I think there should be some community based missions, where you need to work together with other players in order to complete the missions. Anyone else like this idea?

  19. Recently upon doing some very thrilling and nail-biting missions that have made me enter enemy lands and risk everything I own, I realized there's one big drawback. Only one person really gets the rewards from doing the mission, at least in certain missions. For instance: Doing a "ritual" on a tower mission, only one player can do the ritual (unless it calls for two), so even if you go with 3-5 people, only one person gets the reward (1000 karma + rank + sleep bonus). Doing a "kill traitor _____" is a single-reward also, even if 2 people hit the same traitor target, it only gives 1 person the reward. Normally this isn't bad if it's something simple like a deer, or pig, but if it's an enemy tower guard you're likely needing the assistance of others to get there safely and kill it, but then they aren't rewarded. As far as I know the only "group" missions there are like kill 40 pigs, or sacrifice 500 woad is mainly on Home servers, not Elevation. I think it would just be nicer if it gave the karma reward to everyone in the 3x3 area who participated, because merely being the guy who does the Ritual or lands the kill shot doesn't mean they did ALL the work, and it pretty much makes going out in a group to do missions a waste.
