  1. Quite often new players spend time performing 'mine' on a rock tile, and can't understand why it never opens a mine. 'Mine' is for surface mining, and they need 'Tunnel' to actually open up a new mine to use as a newbie base. They don't know that until they ask in CA_Help. The problem arises because Tunnel and Mine are both verbs AND nouns - you can tunnel a mine, and you can mine a tunnel, and it's all a bit confusing for the new player. Could we please have a mouse tooltip over the tunnel and mine options? - or at least point new players towards the Tunnel command a little more clearly? Perhaps we could change the options to 'Tunnel a new mine' and 'Mine rock surface' whilst we are outside of a mine, rather than just 'Tunnel' and 'Mine'. What do you think folks? Interested to hear from those players who have had this problem as a new player, as well as those seasoned vet surface miners that use the external surface 'Mine' command a lot.
  2. I am trying to fence in a small part of my mine on deed. When I try to put a fence at the edge tile of the deed in the mine, standing on the deed side I get this message [12:19:20] You are not allowed to make a fence in a cave when not on a deed. I am able to build fences in the mine without it being reinforced on other tiles, but because I was having an issue I reinforced the edge tile just to see if it helped, but it did not. I went to the CA and gave them the information and they suggested I post it here.   4. Hiring players willing to mine for tools. I can offer 60ql tools wit 50 coc & woa. I just ask for mining/tunneling of 6 tiles of rock & reinforcing for each tool. I can supply plenty of beds, meals, water, torches, bsb's for rock & mats for reinforcing (i think that's all you'll need) oh & tools. It's just basic underground tunneling in a straight line so it isn't complicated except for making sure the walls are prospecteed for veins before reinforcing coz i'm trying to find all the veins on my deed My deed is at Q25 on Xanadu (I'm still waiting for the community map to change the map name from "North Wood' to 'The SIlk Road Silk Wurm') Any querries plz pm here or my main in game Seraphrattle
  5. Lazurite, blue dye. Blue is a word many languages lack, because of its to-hand rarity. although woad was in use by many tribal cultures, this is the mineral that made the colour truly accessible. we all know our dye/paint system needs some love.. without disrespecting effort spent. woad is a crying agony.
  6. There's been a few posts that beg for this. The need, especially since levelling tile borders is now possible outside, has become imo somewhat imperative.   7. So I have my own server to be a hermit in, and after deeding I made myself a mine. It was a terrible mine and took me days to find any iron, but yesterday I finally did it. Now I shut down my server when I'm not using it, and I'm the only player. Today I started up my server again, and after doing a bit of smithing I turned around to see ABSOLUTE CHAOS. My mine entrance had collapsed, but in a way I've never seen before! It had turned into a massive pit, hitting the water table below. Now I've (hopefully) fixed the terraforming with my GM so I can get mining again, but what on earth happened? Why did my mine collapse by itself like this? Is there anything I can do to prevent it happening again?

  9. Hello, I play on a server and we regular players play on other people's servers and we suggest mods to the owners and they look into them before adding. I always look at the mods however I don't know if anyone suggested this yet. If so, well I'll just bring it up again. I'm sure many want the same mod. But it is that we all can't use "disintigrate" to destroy veins. Instead, we would ask a fellow staff of our server since we cannot hit to destroy them in 1 hit like GMs can. Sure we can simply mine them, but would you, yourself spend most of your time completing thousands and thousands of actions to destroy a vein, and having too much of stuff you won't use like sandstone, copper, almost everything? We've all been there, sooo much lol. So I like to have a mod that will allow us to use a blunt wep like a large maul to destroy veins that are in the way by ourselves so GMs arnt helping with them. They may help to be helpful, but it's not rlly their job to hop around destroying veins for players who are too lazy. And sometimes, GMs don't have the time to come on, or come by every time. This is what I would suggest. Thank You.
  10. My latest crazy idea is based on firepillar (type firepillar into console below ground to see where that tile is when you go above ground, it looks like lava but it not). Fire pillar shows that the game can link the 2 tiles. With all the great new below ground building options I'm sure lots of people have expanded their deeds underground. My idea is a ladder you can build below ground on a flat paved tile, then build a corresponding ladder on the tile above ground. A little bit of teleporting magic and you have a new entrance type! Simple, I think, it would be useful for me. Ideally it would support high ceilings too, maybe even some ceiling graphics if possible.

(once clad you wouldn't be able to mine it until you remove the facade with a crowbar, obviously.. I'm not sure about reinforcements requirements, i figure it's already reinforced on account of not being made of stone, we have no way to reinforce tiles adjacent to veins) thank you

(at the end of this first post, is a list of mobs that do not respect and may pass through locked doors, building walls, or locked or unlocked fences underground) Ok, I put my dog inside a building (building name: South Three Interchange) underground on 12 Nov 2016, around 2am-ish EST on my deed Cornersville on Independence. The building has 3 locked doors and is a 2x2 underground. Once I released the dog (branded to my deed, Cornersville, Aged dog 'C0r f f2016111') I untamed it. I later found the dog wandering the mines outside that building. So I had to run go do other thing, when I came back, that same dog had wandered out of the area I had spotted it in and then thru another building I have underground (building name: Cornersville Long House, which has 4 doors on it, all locked), and it had wandered off deed. No way for it to get off deed underground, in that area, unless it passed thru a building with locked doors. THE PROBLEM: The problem is, my dog is walking out of a building underground. As far as I know in wurm, such an animal as a dog, should not be able to just walk out of a building that only has doors as access? right? Plus, the doors all have locks on them, with permissions set. Forums was down that day, so I submitted an in game ticket (#54917 12/Nov/2016 08:55). CM Moogien responded and stated that there may have been a forum post on this bug before, but wasn't certain. Dogs are not supposed to be able to just walk out of a building that only has doors on it for access. CM Moogian suggested that I submit a forum post, this topic, as soon as forums was back online. That is the reason for this post. Work around: My dog is not lost. I have my dog. I put it in a top side (above ground) fenced in area w/ gates. This dog appears to have no problems obeying the 'do not go thru gates game rule' above ground. Please fix this, so that I can release and rest assured my animals will not wander out of closed buildings underground.   13. I just noticed this today, but it looks like ambient light has been messed with in caves and mines making them far too bright. Mines and caves aren't supposed to be bright enough to see clearly without a light, they're supposed to be dark and mysterious, and a light source should be absolutely necessary for vision. Whatever was done has completely negated this, and the torches and lamps I do have now make it so bright it washes all the color out.
  14. This is something I've long been meaning to suggest. When inside a mine, you can hear two different sound loops: A crumbling sound, as if sand and pebbles are flowing down A soft blowing of the wind through the tunnels The creepy crumbling sound has always freaked me out and made me feel like I will, at any time, be crushed to death by a collapsing mine. I do LOVE that we have it though, so please don't get me wrong. I would never want it removed. I think that sound is one of the things that makes going into a mountain tunnel so exciting and thrilling! But wouldn't it be cool that once you've secured a mine with mine supports, that the crumbling sound stops and only the soft wailing of the wind sound is left? We all know that immense satisfaction of getting those mine supports up there, but imagine how much more satisfying it would be if the mine sounded more secure as well!?

  16. This may be meant? But im almost sure that i've worked on a ceiling on top of a bridge before and it hasn't acted like i was in the water beneath. The ceiling is not out of reach, yet when i try to flatten it, or mine it, the client tells me it is. I did pass it by CAhelp before posting here. I apologise if this isn't a bug.
  17. I found a mine door, when I examined it, I got no data in event tab. It only says... [07:18:45] You see a hole. On Independence, N17-ish on in game map. I then found another mine door w/ no 'examine' data in event tab, same 'you see a hole' dialogue. Looks like these wooden mine doors are missing the quality data. These doors, I can walk right through them. I can not tell if they are locked or not. Cursor over does show the 'Mine door' words...just the examine data is not showing up in the event tab. TeeeBOMB

  19. We can allow a role to pass gates, but not mine doors. I do a lot of mines and have a lot of mine doors. I'd like more control of those door through the roles in settlement management, rather than having to set all the individual names on each door.
  20. I was leveling the floor of my mine today on the tile next to the entrance and got an error message. [12:21:27] The roof sounds dangerously weak and you must abandon this attempt. This same error also happened when i tried to flatten the tile. I was able to mine it down manually and get it level but thought i would post it anyway and i am not sure if this is a bug or is intended because it is on the tile next to the entrance.

    I am selling a small deed with utmost veins for gold, silver, copper, iron, and zinc. They all have at least 5000 ore left. There is also a VG tin. The deed is undeveloped. I had planned to build an underground facility, but I am too focused on my main deed. The deed has about 1 month upkeep. Starting price: 5s Bid Increment: 1s Reserve: none Snipe Protection: 10 minutes The deed is on the east coast of Crystal Lake, Independence Server. A couple alliance members have asked that I delay this auction so I am closing this for now as it has no bids anyway.
  23. When you mine out a tile through a double door you can not level the floor tile it gives you the message.. [10:24:34] The plain stone double door is in the way. If we can mine through the doors/arched ways we should be able to level the floor through the door too so when we expand we can get the same height floors.

I was building a mine workshop/entranceway and ran into a snag: Evidently you cannot build a floor above (ladder) section inside a mine unless there is enough room for a complete floor plan (although you can build just a floor above). So we all know that sometimes the ceilings in mines aren't always flat, especially near mine entrances, so naturally if you want to build a second (or higher) floor in a mine you'd need enough room to do so. But what if I only want access to the roof of the building, like at a large mine entrance so I can put a parapet overlooking the entrance? Long story short, my suggestion is to remove the restriction to build floors above in mines, as long as there is enough room on at least one tile edge for a full wall.

In my recent travelings i have fell in love with a new location where I'm looking to create a home and settle down, therefore need to sell my old deed. Server is Release, Coords are M15, StarsHollow is the name, bigger lake on ingame map. Deed comes with a cave (very good silver vein) and loads of mines closeby with more silver and iron veins various QL (up to utmost) ; minor pen full of black sheep both male and female, aswell as a breeding pair of unicorns and its baby ; altar of Vynora that gives 70,5 faith bonus ; house-guest house and workshop furnished + Love tile made in the courtyard. I have off deed rice farm and animal pens(hell horses/bison/ cow/sheep/deer) that buyer can take over aswell There is resource tiles nearby : tar, peat, moss, clay.
