  1. Hey, Since some time I'm trying a way for good transformation of screenshots of my merchant contents into text using OCR software but it takes long time and results are, uhm, unsatisfying. Could I please have option from merchant writs that will export my merchant contents as a table or raw text into some file in Wurm folder? In future also having some type of data logger for all merchant writs would also be handy to know who is buying what and when, maybe some notification in yellow on event window similar to you have a moment of inspiration? If i had less merchants this would have not been that problem for me, but since I got 12 of them trying to find out what I got on merchants and what I don't by browsing everything, also trying to make some list of items for forums takes very long time. The Monk Temple is now looking for initiates! we have been working on our temple for some time and are now prepared to start housing more players, with our public housing barracks for new recruits now under construction! each initiate will be assigned a bedroom with a bed, chest, and a Bulk storage bin. upon joining they will be shown efficient techniques for grinding experience and learn to truly hone their skills. From a great architect to a master of martial arts, our goal is to grow as a whole, and not just leave our initiates fend for themselves. Through this modality of cooperation and coordination that we have managed to maintain, we have managed to make much progress on the soon-to-be monk temple. with the courtyard, cook-house, tailor, stables, a high Ql quard tower and a fully functional farm, we have everything we need to accommodate new comers. upon completion of the monk temple there will also be a blacksmith, barracks, dojo, shipyard, and of course, the temple itself! our long-term goal is to build a strong and profitable commonwealth with our kingdom allies to the east.   4. Just a couple of things I've been thinking about the last few days: Allow deed owners to dismiss other peoples' merchants if they are empty. Any money would go to the merchant owner's bank. You could also add a timer wherein they can't be dismissed until a certain time has passed. Add a permission to writs to where you can allow/disallow people to place merchants in a building. This would greatly benefit public markets that want to add public buildings but don't want to see any merchants plopped down into them. You could even add the possibility of allowing only certain people to place merchants in selected buildings (friends, alliance, guests, etc.)

  7. This has been suggested many times in the past, or at least an alternative version of this suggestion, but I couldn't find any active threads when using the search function. This suggestion contains parts of what I'm looking for however: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/88890-merchants-to-show-exactly-what-they-have-sold/?hl=merchant The problem The current merchant interface is pretty stripped down as well as slightly confusing (in my opinion). To manage it you have to right-click "Manage traders" (which in itself is confusing since there is a distinction between traders and merchants). That presents you with a box containing some text and some information about the merchant. The information is presented on a single line and if you go outside the box you have to sidescroll to read it all. If you want to see what is left on the merchant you check the box named "Manage prices" and click send. After that you're taken to the merchant's item list. The item list is presented in alphabetical order and the QL, DMG and price are displayed to the right of the item name. The list is not re-sortable (I'm happy it's presented alphabetically nowadays though and not randomly like before, and that the name of the item is shown. That's a great improvement so thanks to whoever fixed this!). The suggestion Create an interface for the merchants that is more intuitive and that you can control a little bit more. One idea would be to present general information about the trader (such as "Last Sold", "Sold Month", "Sold Life", "Ratio" and "Free Slots") in a separate grouping since those are all things you can't modify. The information which is currently printed on the "Managing merchant" page should be moved to a separate page which you prompt with a button, since you'll most likely not be interested in reading it everytime you manage the merchant ("Merchant Info"). The options for "Dismiss" and "Manage prices" should be separate buttons that you click on, instead of checkboxes. They would be in a grouping clearly separated from the non-modifiable stats, together with the "Price modifier" field and the "Use Local Price" checkbox which would have a confirmation button ("Send"). The confirmation button would not close the window. The current presentation of the item list is good, I would like to see a sorting function on it though and add a field called "Seller" where the name of the seller can be entered (to aid those of us who share a merchant with others). Another thing I'd like to add to merchants is a button that creates a dump of its current inventory ("Dump Inventory"). Nothing too fancy, a text file similar to the one you get when making a skilldump would be perfect. With a txt-dump it'd be possible to check what's sold since the last dump and what hasn't. There should also be a button that closes the window ("Done"). Explanatory pictures I created some pictures in MS Paint of what I had in mind, to make some of the things more understandable: Image 1.   8. Problem #1 (NPC traders): Publicly accessible traders are difficult to find any more. When you do find one, it has no money and requires exact change to trade. Traders in this state won't allow a trade unless change is exact. Solution: Add a "keep the change" checkbox to the trading dialog. If I want to trade 11 iron worth of cotton for a 10 iron spindle that the trader has, I should be allowed to. Problem #2 (NPC merchants): Although their new models are great, merchants largely all look the same and it's miserable trying to find one that's well stocked, never knowing which have been abandoned. Solution: The merchant should vanish or somehow visually "close shop" when they are empty/abandoned/poorly updated/poorly stocked. Problem #3 (NPC merchants): Areas with many merchants (freedom market, etc.) or poorly located merchants waste a lot of players' time to locate what they are looking to buy. Solution: Merchants could be linked within a 20 tile radius so in places where there are dozens of them the player doesn't have spend all day locating them all and going back and forth trying to compare prices. A column could be shown in the merchant's interface identifying the name of the merchant the particular goods are on (so the seller still gets represented to the buyer). Solution2: A different spin on this is that the merchant interface becomes available to players within a certain distance of a merchant. Essentially you could ride into the center of town and launch the interface via a button on your screen, it would let you cycle through the wares of nearby merchants, buy what you want, and ride off into the sunset. Problem #4 (NPC traders): All traders in my area are inaccessible to the public. Solution: Traders should be publicly accessible. See Problem #3 Solution#2 - allow a GUI-accessible interface to become available whenever the player is within a certain distance of a trader.
  9. i think a better way to allow new playersto make money woul be to allow merchants to buy items. even better if u allowed some kind of linking to bsbs to store what they buy. i seen that in other games and some people will try to abuse it with ridiculous prices,but that happens already with merchants and i dont think its a big problem.
  10. It would be nice to allow members of my Village or my Alts to manage merchants though a permissions system setup by the owner of the Merchant Contract. Its a real pain sometimes to have log in and out to remove or add items to my merchant. With a simple check box system you could allow or disallow Friends, Alliance members, or Village members to do help lessen this burden. Allow/disallow removal if items check box Allow/disallow addition of items check box Allow/disallow removal of money on the merchant. Allow/disallow removal of the merchant There are many instances I have encountered where this would be very handy. Thoughts?
  11. A Merchant owner can opt in to a system where the merchant's goods are uploaded to a searchable index or database. Each item's listing would need something to help locate the merchant, ability to examine the item, and all the things you see now when interacting with a merchant. If we could accept map coords that would be great, otherwise the name of deed the merchant is on would suffice as location. We could leave prices off the listing. My goal here is to help folks find who has what where. It is not to make it easy to undercut other sellers. Wasting time finding things you want to buy is not fun. YOU CAN NOT BUY OR STOCK GOODS FROM THE INDEX! Dealing with physical goods require you physically be next to the merchant. I'm not sure where we would access the listing. Some options could be enchanted bulletin boards, an out of game web page, or an in-game UI window accessible by default. Search options don't need to be overly complicated. I'd be happy with searching for say a, "shovel" and sorting the filtered result by quality.

  13. Welcome all! PUZZLE PLAZA MARKET AND EVENT DEED: LOCATION: 25X 32Y DELIVERENCE SERVER Hello all and welcome to the Puzzle Plaza thread. The Plaza is up and running, The event section should be open in time for a Christmas event. After wroking long hours, Puzzle Plaza is now the main MarketPlace for the whole Deliverence server. I would like to Reach out to all the players that helped with DMP and watched as it fell. The DMP was a place built by many good players all with the right intentions. The reason it was built and the person who birth the idea may have been alittle less forth coming of why. So to all that helped I hope Puzzle Plaza will be in your travels for the future. Accomplishments: Since opening the Market has attracted over 50 mercahnt and has Hosted 2 major events: The server wide god spells were successfully casted on the 22nd of september 2012 and the Troll king was slain one week later on the 30th of september 2012. We are working toward a great place where the whole community can meet up and have fun, make friends, and celebrate this wonderful game we all love to play. Something new: Webbler, Monctonclown, Tep and Snoo have been working on a desert and when complete will be 16,500 tiles in total, making it the biggest desert on Deliverence server.   15. Is there any way we could get a list of items your merchant has sold, in the manage merchant box. Quality of item and enchants listing would also be beneficial in the manage prices listing. Also listing how much tax they have paid, and highest demand items. I think just a few of these could increase overall productivity.

With the upcoming new house Arched Walls, would it be possible to have some kind of bench or a smaller Merchant Stall that could be placed inside a house, while purely decorative, it could be crafted by a carpenter as a base item and then customised by each of the different craftsmen by adding different items to it? Sort of thing I mean is a Sturdy Workbench is craftable by a Carpenter using 4 Shafts (legs) 2 Logs (20kg) and 2 planks to make the surface. This can then be combined with tools/materials from each craft, to customise the bench and it's appearance to suit that craft. Blacksmith - Small Anvil, Hammer & Iron Lumps = Blacksmith's Bench Carpenter - Saw, Mallet, Nails & Carving Knife = Carpenter's Bench Tailor - Square pieces of Cloth, Strings of Cloth & Scissors = Tailor's Bench You get the general Idea, this could be rolled out for quite alot of professions, Tanners/Leatherworkers, Alchemists/Healers, Shipwrights, Weaponsmiths, Armoursmiths. What do you guys think? Viable?
