My shield skills won't raise and my shields are not being used. The character name is Adje and I'm on Independence. I've been playing for quite a while, about 5 years (I think) and I have never ever gotten any use out of a shield. I tried all general fixes such as shield bashing over and over (which I did for a very long time and still no skillgain however I could bash) I never parry with a shield equipped or anything. This problem has never been submitted because I didn't feel the need to. I contacted GM's ingame and they told me to go here. Thank you in advance, Zealord (Adje)

so im looking at some posts for deeds and some say they have traders some say merchants. whats the diffrence between them?

This sounds like a good idea particularly for PvP to create stronger buildings but it would also be good for PvE for making a beefier looking wooden wall. I also like the idea of iron rimmed windows, iron for floors and visible iron floor supports for upper floors to give a different look to ceilings. Then to top it off an iron enforced door maybe with a + look of iron bars and then on the borders of the door. I think this would make wooden buildings look nicer.

Hi, It would be nice to have the sum of coin value displayed somewhere in the windows (trade window between players, merchants, traders, also in inventory). Could work on that way, when someone select some coins the tooltip will show the sum value (currently it shows only the number of coins). Like it does while we select multiple items for combining, but with the value of coins appear instead of the number of them.

Here are some improvements to the newbie tools and for their first days of living in the wurm. Compass - Who is more lost than a new guy who recently joined wurm? And where is his compass after he first gets killed by a mountain lion or any other animal? Nowhere. The compass should be an non drop starter tool like other starter tools. Even an 1ql compass is better than no compass at all. I could wait 10 minutes standing still if i only had any clue where i am! Sickle - Why are the newbies hated the most? Because they cut down the trees around the starter town and never replant. Why? Not because they dont know how to use a sickle. They dont have it and its really hard to make! Iron - What do they want the most after they join the game? After they cut their first tree? Iron. The starter town, in every server, should have some kind of access to a iron vein for all. Any quality. Is it too hard for Rolf to cheat the game so much that the starter towns would have 10ql iron veins for all that wouldnt ever run out? Roads - After you leave the starter town where should you go? To that ---> direction and never come back? What about if you die there? You start over and never figure out where you was. The server should have long roads in to the wilderness and further. So your second house could be in somewhere in between.... Those are the most important things for me. Would have been when i started. I can now kill the spiders and bears but how many newer people than me can when they take their first steps in the lands of wurm?
