I believe this to be one of the greatest community events in wurm, I have heard much about it and seen some screens, but I have never been to one. now that I can do my fair share of the improving I would love to participate in one along with everyone who joins in. And certainly I would love to host it for Pristine and Release, and so I shall! What's an Impalong? Its a player created event cherished by many, immortalized by Willow, a mass gathering of community to come together and party, improve each others wares, enjoy each others company, play games and celebrate the true freedom of Wurm! Who should come? EVERYONE! and anyone who likes to party! Skilled players who would like to give back to community, New players needing a bit more ql on their tools and weapons. What should I bring? Your personal items that Need improving Your Tools if you would like to help improve other players items A branded horse of your village allows you to lead it out of the deed pens safely. A Secure cart to store your belongings in during games and races. What should I leave behind? Dead weight, the kitchen sink, 6 longswords. Where is the Pristine Impalong? Whats Provided? -Priest area for sermons, Secure Imping buildings, Imping materials, Food, Games! public beds are 10i. there is no way to make them free, but if you need 10i just ask me! Celeia will be providing all things fluffy! trait reading, genesis casts , horse breeding! Dksprocket's Magnificent Maze! A Lovely and very tricky maze, that will be standing well after impalong x) Games? ~ I will Host games as I can -Scavenger Hunt! teams set out to collect a random list of items from around the nearby game world. (fun but needs work. back to the drawing board!) -Pan Filling! "Master Su Chef" a 1v1 elimination race to fill a number of pans with various ingredients the fastest, as players are eliminated the number of pans goes up, all meals will go to feed the impalong -All kinds of RACES! from cows to boats, long and short distances. -Fishing competition! you will have 30 minutes to catch 5 different kinds of fish. -Sparing arena! battle it out with spatchula's frying pans, A felled tree? who knows! -Deal or No Deal (made famous by Gumbo)! Hosted by Aum and Explora -The Pristine Triathlon! teams of 2 will have to work together to cross the finish line. Building event! attach a brick to the Obelisk have your name immortalized when its finished! After Party?!?! Massive hunting party on the last day. How do you Impalong?!? in the secure buildings are forges and coffins with signs, you may drop and item in it without anyone else being able to pick it up besides yourself and the main trusted helpers. anyone can imp these items but only you can pick it back up. sometimes you loose the ability to pick it back up after logging off to long, in that case myself or a trusted helper can return the item to you. if of course you Name your items! -additional note: be careful not to drop your items in someone elses backpack or container. materials are in a separate central building, Crafters will be given access to this building. and we can pass out lumps to anyone else who would like to join in imping Every bit of quality you add is appreciated by someone =). ~ A Huge thanks to the helpers and builders, I will name them here! The origional plan was to have the Maze kick off the opening of Impalong but it came to my attention that Dec 20th is a Friday and as such, a work day for many. Taking to a public chat, it seems that 19 GMT may be a good choise for opening time, but the problem I noticed is that that is between 11 AM and 2 PM in US times - right smack in the middle of the work day. To compensate for this, I was thinking of pushing the maze back one day to Saturday but leaving the Impalong opening day on the 20th. What does the community think of this?

As of last year and earlier this year, i posted my intrest in hosting impalong, and keeping our great tradition on Indy. With Willow taking on new endeavors, this leave the event open for others to host in hopes to keep the spirit alive. I am Located on Indy, on the Inner Sea, at 36x 28y on map. This is on Dragon Fang Mountain, just north of halcyon and west of Freedom Market. http://wurm.dhcd.co.uk/map/Indemap.png Last year i had list made up early for people who was willing to help out when the time came. Thorgot was willing to donate 2 90ql looms. Raycg was willing to imp forges to 90ql for our smiths, and possibly mine iron for the event. Hogwash was willing to help do w/e was needed. Boston has said he will help any way he can. Xandra from Kincan was willing to help anyway possible Members of the OTG Alliance was willing to pitch in materials if needed. Rosedragon said she would pitch in more furs then Fo has trees for beds. I myself have a 20+ vein silver mine, as i have concluded this would be great to reduce this number and make god statuettes for favor for our priest. Hussars is willing to help if at all possible. Halcyon alliance will help with anything that is needed. Damascus has already started to send materials this way for buildings. I am seeking the support of the community as a whole. Impalong is a indy tradition and we should keep it here! Events: Gladiator Sport: Enter the arena for pvp. Bracket style, skill will be measured for fair advantage, as well as equipment. Rowboat Frenzy: Of course nothing is better then rowboat races. Foot race: That is right folks, a foot race, 2 Different Routes will be planned, One for the safe and one for the brave. For those of you interested, there is a "discussion" going on about where to hold this Winters Impalong. http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/87162-expressing-intrest-in-hosting-impalong/ The Winter Impalong is a tradition that has been historically held by Willow on Independence. Willow announced that she has retired from organising and hosting the event, so discussions are being held on the future of this event. Options include: New fixed site to be found on Independence New fixed site to hold it every year (on any server) Each server hold it in turn Vote for a site to hold it each year (any village, on any server) For those of you who are fairly new and haven't attended an Impalong before, they are a gathering of people from all over Wurm to a central location to meet and generally have a good time. More experienced players will offer their services to imp your current equipment, free of charge. Everyone is welcome to offer their services, whether this is imping, supplying mats or helping with construction or running of events. Everyone is welcome to just turn up and just look around, have a chat or join in when they feel like it. Sermons and enchanting session can be done. Great way to get your Faith up quickly This post is NOT a canvas to vote for me (I am not proposing this event as a staff member) or for the event to be held on Exodus, but to inform those that have never attended an Impalong before or who don't read the threads on the other servers. Lastly, I would like to thank Willow and all those who contributed to the previous events. Lets hope the future ones stand up to the same quality and fun.

Hey guys, I just wanted to advertise this event and also gather information on who will be lending out a hand to Wraithglow to make this happen. Just post in this thread if you can help and what services you can help with. As you all know it does not matter what skill you have as long as you are willing to help out imping, gathering resources, killing mobs, cooking, etc... Please, Please, no griefing comments, threats or insults. If you dont agree with the event that is fine, leave this thread for ppl that will help and the coordination to make this happen. This will be my last event before I deploy to afghanistan and I want it to be as big and succesfull as possible.

As to hearing this will be Willows last year hosting Impalong. I would like to express my intrest in hosting Impalong the following years. I am looking for community support to keep the tradition going strong. It is sad to hear that willow can't do the event any longer, but i would like to keep it close to home Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This was my first Impalong and I just wanted to say a big huge thank you to Willow for organizing it - and another big huge thank you to everyone who participated, in any way. Thank you: - Everyone who donated materials to the cause - Everyone who donated time to the cause - Everyone who donated prizes - Everyone who helped out with the colossus' - Those who helped keep us fed and watered while we were imping - Priests who enchanted - Everyone who ran a contest Thank you for having patience while we all dealt with the lag. It was certainly a time to remember, and while I'm sorry that it's the last one Willow will personally be hosting I'm really glad I got to see what it was all about. Player run events are amazing, and I'd love to see more of them in the future.

G'day fellow Wurmians. I'm here to announce that season 4 of Deal or No Deal will begin on Wednesday, December 19th. The place... Festival Cove on the Independence server. http://forum.wurmonl...120#entry706973 Last season, players won cash and prizes exceeding 2 gold coins. Big winner of season 3 was Theflash who stuck it out to the end and won himself a set of black Drake armour. DoND4 games will run daily for about a week during this years Impalong. With this new season starting up, that means the slate is wiped clean and all previous players are welcome to try their luck once again. You'll have to be there if you want a shot at playing. Contestants will be chosen by the random key pick (detailed in the rules). You'll all be happy to know that added to the 30 silver case will be a bonus 95ql rare pick axe. Also, added to the 25 silver case will be a 95ql rare needle. Now adding a 22ql steel skiller pick with 97CoC to the 20 silver case. I'd like to give a big shout out to Willow for allowing me to host the games there. If you have any questions or suggestions... please feel free to post em here. Good luck everyone! OFFICIAL GAME RULES - The game will consist of 20 large chests placed within a fenced off 4x5 area. Inside each locked large chest will be a small chest containing a cash amount ranging from 1 iron up to 30 silver, and the Drake set. - After the announcement of a new round, a contestant will be chosen by random. Folks will be required to queue up outside the Contestant Search shack at Festival Cove. Inside the shack is a large barrel with numbered keys in it. One by one people enter the shack and choose a key. If their chosen key opens the locked large chest next to the barrel, that person gets to play the next round of Deal or No Deal. - The contestant will be required to "claim" one of the cases to use as their starter case. After this the contestant will be asked to remove a specific number of the remaining cases in this order (5,4,3,2,2,1,1). An offer of cash will be made to the player (by the Banker) after completing each round of case elimination. The player can either take the cash amount offered by the banker or continue eliminating more cases in an effort to increase the amount of the offer made by the Banker. - If a player makes it down to the final two cases, the player will have the choice of keeping their original "claimed" case or trading for the final case not eliminated. The chosen case will then be opened to reveal the contestants prize. - Cash prizes of 1 silver or more will paid out immediately. If a contestant wins less than 1 silver, a random 80ql iron tool or iron weapon will be given. - Here are the monetary values used in each game - Drake, 30s, 25s, 20s, 15s, 10s, 5s, 2s, 1s, 75c, 50c, 25c, 10c, 5c, 1c, 75i, 50i, 25i, 10i, 1i -------------------------------------------------------------- Other rules and such that need to be stated: -A person may only play once per season, if you had a chance to play this season, please allow others the same opportunity. -Seeing as many of the contestants already own Drake sets, I'm willing to allow any person winning a Drake set to trade it in for the cash value of 60 silvers. -Sometimes mistakes can be made. There's a lot of organizing on my side when the game is on, so please bear with me if I screw up. As we all know it is the impalong tomorrow, i would just like to see if anyone has signed up for public transport to the destination? got a couple questions 1. What Time Should it start officially? 2. Will there be Public boat transport for the people from, lets say black dog canal? 3. Should we bring any gifts? like for a gift to the person you want to make friends with? 4. What games is planned?
