As a follower of Nathan I can't tame corrupt horses/animals. Which I find weird as Nathan is a negative influence god that requires negative alignment and you convert/priest to his religion at the bone alter. Unless I have completely missed some statement that only Lib followers can tame corrupt horses and it is as intended I don't see any reason why a dark aligned god wouldn't be able to tame corrupt animals.

I thought to ask to be able to hitch an animal to a tree with a rope, and that may be great, but would have an effect on how trees are used in the game. So how about a hitching post - it would be a post or rail that you could tie your animals to? Why this matters to me is that I have a new deed, I'm collecting animals from the area but I am not ready to fence them in - the land isn't ready. IRL, I'd just tie em up to something solid. In wurm, I have to deforest an area, and create a paddock.

Hello, I was thinking about the value of horses and the dead market regarding horse breeding. I was questioning myself, what would make horsebreeding more interesting, what would value time and efford people put into it and I came to one solution: Make horses better with training! If you could train a horse to get more speed, you would give people a) something to work on, b ) something to hire people for, c) horses would become more interesting in comparison to hellhorses because they would be as fast as them without the unhitching/ biting burdens. So they could become more valued means better priced again. People that would put real efford into their horse business would stand out from those that just mass produce. Mass producing would infact make no sense anymore because you would need to much time to train all those horses up to selling status of 7th speed. My idea would mean you train a horse with riding it, (working cart horses should not become automaticly faster without any efford), maybe you would need the skill too, like 60 animal husbandry for 6th and 70 animal husbandry for 7th speed. d) This would give AH a new push because atm most people dont raise it much higher than 50 because this way they get all the speed traits they wanted without breeding useless other traits into the horses. e) You would give even training stables a chance to pop up, where someone could give their horse away for some time and get it back fully trained. f) And people would come out of their deeds more, because they need to train their horses. This way some forgotten landscapes would maybe become racing-grounds and more populated again. What do you think about this? Cheers

So I looked at the forum to find anything about saddlebags and indeed the community has quite a bit about wanting it. So, I will not go into detail about it other than... Saddlebags would be a great addition to wurm! Seriously. Now onto the Small Carts. "But wait Enigma... There are small carts." Yep, I think it would be a nice addition to the game to have the ability to hitch one horse to the cart. it makes sense to me considering that is what people do with horses. They hitch them to stuff they would rather not pull on their own.Of course you would still have to lead it. The other thing that would be a nice addition is the ability to load a single Large Crate or two Small Crates in the Small cart. I cannot count the number of times where I needed to carry just one or two crates somewhere or needed a crate in a location where horses are unable to go. Hitching up a large cart for one crate just seems... excessive to me. In these instances I am forced to spend a large amount of time pushing or pulling it to the location. Even if the ability to hitch is not going to fly, loading into a small cart would be awesome. Well theres my 2 cents worth of Saddlebags and Small Carts!

I've relogged and the horses are fine, until I embark again, then this: Cart seems to work just fine. Just looks like I am mounted directly on the pair of horses wearing a cart. Edit: Doesn't happen to me with the Stable client.

I would love to see where you can unhitch a certian animal from your wagon or cart instead of all of them.

Played on a server in WU a while back that had somehow relaxed the restrictions on the slopes a horse can climb. I've always felt the horses in Wurm Online were strangely limited. A horse can climb a pretty steep hill, even with a person on their back if the person leans forward to help out (weight over withers). Having that restriction relaxed a bit was a really nice difference. So... a few ideas. @JockII suggested a new trait of "Goat legs" here. Another option: I think a current trait like Very Strong Leg Muscles could be used as well. It currently allows less speed penalty on a slope. The algorithm could be tweaked to allow a steeper slope w/ speed penalty && the regular slope w/ less speed penalty. Carry More Than Average could also come into play. Perhaps require both traits on a horse to unlock the extra slope capacity of Very Strong Leg Muscles. Or, relax the limit across the board on every horse everywhere without condition. Sounds a bit boring as a solution and a missed opportunity to add a bit of value to animal husbandry Problems? PvP: Defensive designs are based on current horse climbing slopes? If the steeper slope carries a speed penalty with Very Strong Leg Muscles, that would leave the enemy vulnerable even if they could get over a slope on horseback...? PvPers ain't afraid o' no slope. Welcome to Hindleap Horses! Situated in a peaceful forest just west of Summerholt, I breed the 8 'new' colours mainly, but I generally get other colours too. I'm aiming to produce a mixture of horses bred for speed and draft traits, ideally with the 'certain spark' trait which increases horses' life span by 3 months to a total of 9 months of life. **Notes on the new traits system** Since the recent animal husbandry update, there have been many changes to the traits system. The details on the update can be found here, but I'll put a brief explanation on what it means for horses, donkeys and mules here. Instead of the old 5 speed horses which were the best you could make, there are now 4 speed horses. These are functionally the same for riding. Horses with 3 or more speed traits have the new 'hot blooded' body shape, which is similar to that of real Arabian horses. The new speed traits are: You'll notice that only 3 of those traits affect movement on land, which is what we're doing 99% of the time! So if you get a 3 speed horse that's only lacking the accustomed to water (AW) trait, you have as good a riding horse as a 4 speed. There is a 5th rare speed trait, 'it is unbelievably fast' (UF), which means the animal is 'always on speed bonus similar to hell horses'. Rare traits are, obviously, rare; but when combined with the other 4 speed traits will be the fastest horses we can get. We now also have draft traits which affect an animal's ability to pull vehicles. Horses with 3 or more draft traits get the 'cold blooded' body type which is like a real Shire or Clydesdale horse. There are 4 common draft traits which are as follows: Similar to the speed traits, there is a trait that doesn't affect pulling ability, but the damage taken to gear (EG). This again means that draft horses with only the other 3 traits will be as useful for pulling vehicles as those with 4 draft traits. There are 2 rare draft traits, 'it seems stronger than normal' (SN) which gives a bonus to their ability to carry, and 'it seems more nimble than normal' (NN) which increases the maximum ridable slope. Draft horses are better than speed horses for pulling vehicles, but remain reasonable riding horses when equipped with good gear. **How to find me** Hindleap is in G23 on Xanadu as shown above. There is a main road from Summerholt and the turnoff onto the gravel path to Hindleap is signposted. There is access by water from the north and just to the south at the Nexa Market and Sanctuary.
