I responded to a post by sailingsuzye (below) about saddle bags, that I would like to see pack horses. It was suggested that I start a new thread, so that's what I'm doing. I have long thought that it was strange that in Wurm we do not have pack animals. To me the easiest solution to this would be to allow to attach pack panniers to horses and then lead them. Pack animals should be available to all players either being lead by a rider on a horse or someone on foot. This would allow new players that can't ride horses or carts the ability to move a small amount of supplies, maybe 250kg without having to carry it in inventory. They could still then out run many predators since they aren't carrying a bunch of weight. This idea was brought back into focus for me recently with the removal of crops as sacc'ing items for my Libilia Priest. While Libilia as always had the option to sacrifice butchered items, the amount they weigh as always meant they were left behind due to the ease of using crops. Along with using chopped veggies I now also collect butchered items and forage for all the new cooking items. It doesn't take long to get a lot of weight in inventory. Wandering around the back country on horseback is much easier than driving a cart. While I think that using horses as the pack animal is the easiest for coding, there may be other issues that argue for another type of animal such as a mule or donkey to be used as pack animals. This would provide for additional breeding options. There is a cave bug spawn in the desert close to Mistwood Haven on Release, yet no cave bugs anywhere either in the desert or the caves around there. We have been looking all over though, not just there, and all of us have been looking in all caves we can find and only found two. How does this work? It seems cavebug spawns are bugged... Or perhaps I just don't understand how the spawns work. Can someone please clarify? I have had two horses diseased, which I placed in camps on enchanted grass and groomed. One died after a week and the other is growing (was young when diseased) and is now quite a bit older, yet retains diseased status. He is constantly on food and gets groomed. Can diseased horses now only be healed with Fo priests? Or is this a bug?

Added 2 more: 22Aug 2020 I made some new skins for some creatures (not just horses!) if you would like to use them, have at it! I will also make available some skins from the old creaturepack mod that I can't find elsewhere. For some of these textures, I bounced off of other textures done by other people. Thank you to Malena! The new horse colours introduced to WO were amazing. These skins are super simple to use. First you will want to close the game and its launcher, or you will get an error when trying to copy files into the graphics jar. You will need WinRAR or something like it, to be able to open the file. Find your WurmLauncher/packs folder. Find the graphics.jar, and make a copy of it. This is your original, keep it safe somewhere. Then open it up with Winrar. For a creature skin, navigate to /creatures (or /creatures/horse) and you will see the file names that you will be replacing. Simply name the file what colour you would like to replace, and then drag and drop it in here! Name examples listed below. Final step: click okay to the box that pops up when you drop the file in. Simple enough premise really. This is to encourage the use of proper infrastructure and deed access on the part of the defenders who hold far more advantages atm than attackers. Now what constitutes an attack? That would be a deed alarm set off by a 70fs plus account ( surely some check can be written into the code) and this will block teleports for 8 hours. Low fs alts and mobs shouldnt block teleports. Others can elaborate on this perhaps in a constructive fashion

I have recently returned to Wurm after a few months gone. I am on PRISTINE, and have searched all over for days, to find a wild horse, there is NOT ONE, NONE, NADA, NO HORSES, NO WHERE, not in the water, not on islands, none in the desert, nor the forests, no tundra spawns, there are no Wild Horses on Pristine. I have had people come by asking me if I had seen any wild horses, and I tell them the time I have spent looking, and come back with nothing. There are tons of bison, deer, sheep, pigs, cows bulls, dogs. I am hoping that maybe this could be looked at and fixed. Per the Wiki for Chain Barding: Steel, silver, seryll, glimmersteel, and adamantine barding do not show visually on a horse, but still offers protection and reduces speed. At least in the case of steel, this is no longer true. Model is in-game and visible. Can't vouch for the other types. See image below. Normal iron chain barding (left), Steel chain barding (right). Here in the next handful of days I'll be releasing several ponies from my stables into the "wild". These will be ponies with 3 speed traits or less, with a few possibly having undesirable traits as well. I'll post a list of names here as I release them, so if you find a "lost" horse in the H19/20 area check here to see if it fits the listed names and if it does go ahead and keep it or whatever you'd like. Just don't return them to me please. I'll update this post when the compassionate release has taken place.
