  1. I fear the black shading has something to do with the "Terrain/shadow Resolution" options, as when I change them, the blackness renders closer or farther. Another thing to note is that when there aren't black slivers like in the photo, slivers of other terrain types show up. When I move about, while my cursor hovers over a dirt tile, I will see slivers of a cobblestone tile, for example. Is this common?
  2. I've noticed that rather often, when I start swimming, snow effect will break, and I get a visual of snow falling... but only below the water line. Sometimes it's a localized effect, and above the water line I can see some spots where it's snowing and some where it isn't. Screenshots: Note that snow is visible underwater but not above water... or maybe it's the reflection that's visible? Who knows.
  3. if you see the red rift beacon reflected in water it shows as the white model like it was the "White light" on elevation/chaos.
  4. Okay so I switched over to a new computer with Nvidia Experience. Brand New computer, I updated all of my drivers and downloaded the game, ran it, and got on the server and the ground textures are glitching and not displaying the correct tiles. They change from grass, to dirt to crops and sowed earth. please help? Here is a gif of my issue. I really hope this helps. This is very annoying. https://gyazo.com/c43f87e15ccae6572dd6310cac22b876
  5. Hello Im new and my FOV and other advanced graphics options are disabled. I have looked everywhere and cant find as to why they are disabled... Im trying to play and i cant stand FOV at 80. Pls help
  6. Dragon's model has a slightly rubbery toe that stretches various distances/directions based on angle and position to the dragon.
  7. Hello, Now, i know this topic has come appeared and there has been several answers to the problem. But after 2 days of googling and trying almost everything, I've yet to find something that works. Basically, The ground tiles all move when I move. The tile that my character stands on looks fine, but the others appear to move and look weird.(I don't own these images, i didn't take them either) http://i.imgur.com/Nd4r7Vd.jpg http://s21.postimg.org/yt3oipa6v/wurm_20130719_1723_3.jpg I have tried(In no particular order): Restarting the game, several times Restarting my Computer, several times Updating my graphics driver Updating my Java Reinstalling Wurm Unlimited Turning all my settings to the lowest settings Turning off FBO, GLSL, and VBO I read about pbuffer, but that doesn't show up on my options, or i can't find it. None of these have worked. Here is my setup: Windows 7 Professional Intel i7 32GB RAM Using the Integrated Graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4600) More than enough storage (1.5 TB) Thanks in Advance!
  8. Hello, I am experiencing an issue while rendering the floor (and anything i.e. the cart on top of that tile) when looked at from a certain angle and it seems that it started when I upgraded to Windows 10. I have already tried disabling the GLSL shader and it did not work. The following url shows how the game from two different point of views standing at the same point: http://imgur.com/a/SjzA0. Below are my graphics settings followed by my hardware specs. Note: Turning off CrossFire did not change anything. And just to complete the picture, I want to add that I have the latest drivers for my card.
  9. Just want to get a sense for what people are noticing since that last big client graphics update. Personally, my laptop now sounds like a hair dryer, unless I run on very low settings and only 1-2 clients at a time. CPU, RAM and GPU are ALL working much harder for me. Mostly the GPU though. I used to be able to load up to 30 clients on one machine. Now if I load 10, my laptop will lock up. At 4-6 clients, it is pushing very hard. Just one client on good quality settings will make it run loud. What is your experience since the update? Let's let Code Club know and maybe they can use the feedback and modify the update to run more efficiently?
  10. Is there a solution or workaround for this (see pictures below - makes the lighthouse rather pointless)? Would the same happen with a Marble Brazier? 4 tiles away: 5 tiles away:
  11. Since the last update, I'm experiencing the same glitch on 2 different systems (AMD 7870 XT & R7 370). My studded leather helms look like this (on two separate characters):
  12. I've been having a graphics issue with both wurm online and wurm unlimited and am unable to fix it. I have tried all the things suggested in previous forums such as changinging the FBO and VBO settings, manually installing a graphics card update, and running all graphics at lowest possible settings. None of these have worked and this is my last ditch effort in hopes someone has a resolution to my issue. I am using an Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series with 8 GB ram, i5 core, and an intel HD 5000 graphics card. I've read a lot about how intel and wurm do not work well together and I'm at the point where I'm starting to think this isn't fixable so hopefully someone has a solution for me. I will provide an image with a detailed description of what is wrong. Graphics Issue Image Link The trees, grass, buildings and characters look just fine and I have no issue running the game at high quality graphics. However, the ground textiles move around and don't show what they are supposed to look like. I end up having to hover over every tile in order to know what I'm actually looking at. As I've said before I have tried all the previously suggested fixes from other forums and the problem still persists. Hopefully someone can help me with this!
  13. weird circle of wrong textures around me. http://i.imgur.com/qtz42KL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/f9Wh88s.jpg
  14. Guys and girls How about we share a bit of tricks (no myths or hearsays) that actually work for getting the best bang for buck from the config? I have given up on "ultra good" looking stuff on my already high-end (skyrim ultra capable )system, and I have decent looking reflections on the water, OK looking shadows. Two things that disturb me that I can't sort out though, is: 1. Models loading in the NEAR distance, while you walk, causing a 'glitch' every few metres of walking (seen while grass/stuff/trees pop up in front) 2, Seeing more details a bit further. I can see flat looking, blurry tile textures just 10 tiles ahead. Things that improved my graphics without making a fps difference though: Overriding wurm's anti-aliasing and anisotropy (8AA and 16 Ani) - huge improvement, fps stayed the same in game for me. Reflection quality high, and Almost Everything - didnt make much of a difference. Model loader threads: 4 Priority: low (improved the walking glitchyness a bit) It seems that it's almost possible to up everything and not see a framerate drop.... until you enter freedom market or a fancy settlement. Then boom, you're down to 12 fps. Now this sounds to me like culling isn't actually working? If you're standing out of sight of most models, why is the rate still that low, if culling is enabled? People have suggested many things (running in admin mode, etc) - but I have found these to not make any difference. Maybe Wurm can benefit from some multi-threading/multiprocessing stuff (i can see it using only one core). This is not really a "help me" thread, merely a share one. We just want to have 30 or 40, not asking for much, just smoothness in all areas, not just night-time
  15. The great, the meh, the ugly... I love the artwork for the Tall Stone walls. I also love the wood trim on stone buildings. Alas I hate the fact they don't line up... Suggestions: 1.) Increase height of Tall Stone walls so the wooden area lines up with the stone building wooden trim. (Area indicated with red) 2.) Modify stone parapets so they match the same graphics of the "parapets" on the Tall Stone walls. (Change area indicated in orange to match area indicated in green) Example 1: Example 2: Recap: Green = Great Orange = Meh Red = Ugly
  16. I have a scar horizontally across my forehead and a bugged head ! http://i.imgur.com/7HPckm7.png Seeing a bald head when mining / digging is not fun http://i.imgur.com/nuhsZSZ.jpg And when bear hat is off, having a half bald head is not fun either http://i.imgur.com/nUM93VI.jpg Please can my character's graphics be fixed ?
  17. Hey, So here is the issue. I log in, I look around, and I can't see other players or AI characters. All I can see is the floating hair and sword of human characters. Any Ideas on how to fix this issue. Thanks in advance, Ool
  18. Hi I've just install wurm on my new workstation and i've come across a weird graphical error that i've never had before. -- as you can see the model looks as if its t-posed and then the mesh or something has fun and bugs out. This also happens to animals and other npcs'. if anyone has any idea how to fix this i would be indebted to you.
  19. I am getting a split second flash of a red line today, after the update. Noticed it while farming. Asked on freedom chat and someone else said they were seeing it after today's patch. Will update if I see it in other areas of game play, than just the farming or on farm fields. Edit: Also getting rapid flickering of ground cover (grass, paving) at certain distances, around 5-15 tiles distance.
  20. Hi - I cannot see walls or floors - i think i might have messed up the graphics settings, including the default and dont know how to fix this - please help.
  21. Hello, I have a question about client graphic settings. I notice in-game that the closer I am to certain textures they're a higher resolution, and the farther I am away they're a lower resolution. Mainly terrain, such as gravel. What is that called? Can it be changed? I know this might be a n00b question, but any help is appreciated for bearing with me. Please and thanks. -K
  22. When I disable GLSL to fix the Model bug of the player, guards, and traders it bugs out how the terrain is loaded. Only fix I can find is to turn GLSL back on to Core. Is there any known fix to this where I can have both the models and terrain showing up normally?
  23. Dear development team, Please, make holiday .jar files separate. Much like we can select sound or experimental. Can you make it so we have the option to download and use a file that overwrites the Graphic.jar or not. This will save you bandwidth, petitions and make some of us happier. Thank you, Baloo and Disgruntled-Cub-who-is-fixing-her-install-due-to-a-bug
  24. I would like to suggest a settings option, that sets all settings to max performance, for those really laggy situations, like massive crowds at Impalongs and Boss hunts. One click to turn off shadows, bloom, animations, render distances, etc. Everything but screen resolution. I know we can create our own custom settings to do just that, but requires a relog in most cases. Would love to be able to click to low graphics/max performance, in the middle of game play. Nothing worse that getting crashed out, right as the red dragon dies. Most games allow for quick performance settings changes on the fly. A settings change that does not require a person know what all those individual settings mean, like antialiasing and bloom.
