  1. I know that there have already been several threads about this, and yet it is still not fixed. Therefore I feel no guilt what-so-ever writing yet another one and praying it will not go ignored... again. Although the title should say it all.... Please Please get the graphics for the silver, gold, and bronze chain horse bardings working. It has been far too long for it not to be fixed. You all add tons of things to the game and while they are all fkn awesome!, please take a few minutes and fix this one little tid bit. It don't even require a new release, just a little coding fix and a graphics, which you might already have. Thanks!
  2. Inspired by Puertorro's thread regarding his wife's hard work on their own wagon, which you can find here. I've decided to finally post our own graphics on the Wurm Forums for those who may not have seen them. (The earliest forms of our shield were in development long before our founding, I'm glad I got the opportunity to get them put into game) As you can extract the most of the images from Wurm's own .jar archives (please do not modify your .jar files, it is in violation of the EULA and will probably earn you a ban) I'll refrain from plastering my name on them, however as our main media logo has not been submitted to the Wurm Online team in it's current form, I retain any rights to such image and have no problem pursuing action to prevent that image being used in a way I deem unfit. As a side note, the Black Legion tartan used in any of our images was created and registered with the Scottish Government by myself and we retain all rights to the reproduction and weaving of said tartan. I'm probably not the best person to ask with any assistance with design at this time due to real life commitments, but feel free to drop me a line and ask if the fancy takes you, if it's interesting enough I might be tempted enough to say yes. Black Legion Shield Black Legion Banner Black Legion Flag Black Legion Wagon Black Legion Tabard (Torso and Low - Back to Front)
  3. I have been searching for a while now, And am having trouble finding any sort of documentation regarding what the "Minimum Computer Specs" For Wurm would be. I was also looking for examples of High end setups which where able to preform very Smoothly, especially ones that are capable of running multiple clients. Also, if a knowledgeable player or Dev was able to recommend which brand of graphics card is better to use with Wurm, that would be great!
  4. The wemp piles graphic often renders beneath the terrain. Note, I know about the combine.
  5. To the Graphics Team . . . . What a great surprise to log into spring and see all the fruit trees in bloom. Great job people (Many pluses) Skyefox Mayor: Albia Estates
  6. Water reflections are not working anymore today; while it was working OK this week-end. I didn't change any settings; and I hear other players are having the same issue. Cheers
  7. I have noticed some graphic glitches that only appeared after 1.2 1. Looks like most people now have white hair. The beards and facial hair are still normal colour, but all hair on head is white. 2. All animals lost their colour overlay as to blue, green, red, yellow etc. 3. Wooden items decay and shows the decay. When you repair them, the decay goes to 0 damage but the item still displays the decayed graphic. 4. Smoke is teal blue. Spirit templars are blue too. 5. All fish seems to be white, no more purple/blue etc. fish 6. Horses are back to looking plastic and reflecting light in very strange ways. 7. Are oleanders supposed to look only slightly purple instead of nice bright pink? 8. It seems that piles of stuff in mines now break up into single items, you have to pick them up individually. So a heap of ores will just be a heap of single ores, not a pile you can pick up. 9. Dirt is acting strangely sometimes, when you put it in a cart it shows up on the ground in front of you, but you cannot pick it up from the ground as it is in the cart inventory. 10. Very strange shadows on faces of female players, it seems they make black edges and black cheeks, only the eyes nose and mouth sticks out as normal. There may be other glitches, these are not affecting game play so just for information to devs.
  8. Hey guys Got a problem with my graphics... the ground glows bright at night... Sent a ticket and tried most of what was suggested, yet the ground still glows at night... I no longer need lamps or any source of light to move around, which is good lol but hell... my game looks awful and unrealistic So I was hoping to get some help over the issue, thanks in advance
  9. So I Joined Wurm Online today and I have this... What can I do?
  10. Okay, everyone already knows this, but, the UI is horrible, it's clunky, unintuitive, and just plain ugly, what I'm suggesting is a smoother sleeker, and more intuitive UI.
  11. Every block i'm moving the lighting change, i mean i'm getting close to a block with any item or prop which lighting the block and the light not shining until i'm getting on the block and it's freezing for 0.20 minseconds and them it show the light. What to do?
  12. I'm not one for stats so I'll try to avoid giving them. Suffice to say a lot of people who do not stick around on wurm do so because the combat is so bizarre. The irony is that it works like the standard combat in an mmorpg, adds in the depth players who play mmorpgs always ask for and generally is not too unbalanced in PvE (no idea on PvP). The first phase is linking animation to action. Troll swings a club at you? You'd best be taking some damage rather than watching it pass through your head. Aiming high? Lets have your attack animations reflect that. Again, no changes to the combat mechanics, just aesthetic alterations. I realise this is the biggest change as it will require more server resources. Then again if smartly done it might not require as many as some people think. The next phase is polishing the interface. Some kind of notification other than text (sound, picture) when you alter an action in combat (flashing icon to indicate you are intending to switch stance/target). A sound when you have selected a target for combat and/or changed your target would not go amiss. A more complex idea is the notion of a progressive interface. People hate greyed out buttons, they confuse the player who thinks "why are they greyed out, am I doing something wrong?". This alteration is aimed at redesigning the targetting interface to only show buttons when/if they can be used. Missing spots evoke a better reaction than greyed out icons. Either that or indicate why an icon is greyed out so players know how to make them active! Also adding taunt to the UI would be nice Custom targetting models for different mobs. Why am I aiming at a human shaped model when I am fighting a wolf? A simple ui alteration based on the mob/creature you are fighting would help reduce confusion and make combat far easier to understand. Armour is very hard to understand for a new player as it works very differently in wurm. I would suggest adding some kind of graphic to indicate if a body part is armoured or not (as well as letting players see where they are armoured/not on their paperdoll). This would go a long way to helping players fight more tricky beasties.
  13. Hmmm. Since the latest updates (Client 3.29b, Java 7.49, and Win 8.1) the Graphics has been driving me crazy! Tiles are not appearing correctly (only the tile in the "combat radius" is appearing correct. Objects seem unaffected. I've changed a variety of in-game graphics settings to no avail. I'm using a Nvidia Optimus graphics card which never had problems previously. I'm 99% confident that the solution can be found in the settings or a changing of settings, but I'm at a loss of what to try next. Here is a screenshot... https://www.dropbox.com/s/lfoi5p873uc9pn7/wurm.20131122.1015_1.jpg
  14. Seems like every time I log in anymore, half of my deed is glowing sort of like it's rare, but without the shimmer effects, it's just a constant glow on everything, and it's pretty headache inducing after a while. Edit: One more screenshot.
  15. Sorry, wrong section, please close.
  16. I've just started playing and I'm having an issue where all of the leaves on some trees and bushes are not properly displaying their transparency. Instead they're made up of black squares with leaves printed on them. Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/aZB1p4x.jpg Someone in the CAHelp chat suggested I try reinstalling, so I followed the instructions here: http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Reinstall That didn't seem to work, so I tried 'Verify all packs' in the launcher. That gave me the error "Could not copy graphics.jar to graphics.jar.bak" Googling that lead me to here: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/62100-classjf-could-not-copy-graphicsjar-to-graphicsjarbak/ After deleting graphics.jar and redownloading, I can now verify all packs without any error, but the draw problem remains. I checked to make sure I'm running the latest version of Java (ver 7, update 25). My video card drivers are all up to date (it's an ASUS HD7850 card, if that matters). I've tried googling, searching the forums and the wiki, and I'm stumped. Any suggestions or solutions would be super helpful, thanks! -Hikahi
  17. Hello, I've just started playing Wurm on a new laptop and I seem to be getting these weird ropy grey lines that wiggle around a bit. They look like stone wall texture-ish or something and if you move the camera, particularly to look up, they vanish, but come back again in the same situation. I did track down a bunch of lines to what I think was a horse, but as the image was all crazy I couldn't tell. Definitely an animal though. They seem to go on infinitely in whatever direction, but straight. Sometimes they go through houses/the floor. Otherwise everything is normal. Thanks for your help/time I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Z585 with Windows 8, I'm using Chrome as the browser.
  18. The normals on the bottom of felled willow trees alternates orientation.

tutorial area I`m guessing it has to do with my integrated graphics card and also the 1Gb of RAM but still this game is actually supposed to be runnable on old pcs.
  20. so i tried to log on today and found that there was an update and thought "yay posable bugs fixed!!" When the update was at 100% the thing stopped and errored... and the reason is because it failed to make a backup file of "graphics.jar" i went to the folder holding "graphics.jar" and tried to delete it after closing the client and found that it was in use by "java TM Binari" so I ended that process and tried installing again Which I recomend however for me that did not work so i deleted the "Graphics.jar" file and started the client again. this installed the graphics again and i could play. Before you do any of what I did you should also try going to "Pack Updates" and unchecking the one that is stuck at 100% Graphics or Sound and try again. this didnt work for me which is where i went with the thing i did above. Notice that deleting the Graphics.jar and starting the client again and having it update will take longer then the update from when it had the file there, since it has to add the file again. which is why I went with the fastest first.
  21. I did a big update to my Linux system (Debian Wheezy), and lots of Java stuff started doing weird stuff. I couldn't even run the client until I explicitly set the java alternative. The game runs and I can log in, but the graphics are really messed up. I spoilered a couple screenshots. I tried a bunch of java implementations, including the Oracle one, as per instructions here I did notice something amiss when I was building the debian package: dpkg-shlibdeps: error: no dependency information found for /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 (used by /tmp/make-jpkg.rfC1XQhgwA/install/usr/lib/jvm/j2sdk1.7-oracle/jre/lib/amd64/libprism-es2.so) There was no error reported at the end of the build, however, so I went ahead and installed it. Everything worked pretty much as before, with the same washed out graphics. I noticed a lot of errors in the console log this time, though. Probably just overlooked them earlier. I'm not a java developer, so I really don't know how to troubleshoot this. Screenshots: This one has a special feature that might be a clue. The moon is in the foreground! Console log. 22. Ok so I have to say the graphics have been going really well. However, the calves......well they look a bit........disturbing haha!! Look at them lmfao (they look worse when they move) So are they in the graphics changes?? Hahahahaha poor little guys. If not can they be please?
  23. So I'm in the market for a new computer for gaming.. preferrably under 5-10,000 usd. Though 1-2k would be more reasonable of course. Games I plan on playing... Archeage (when its out), Diablo III, League of Legends, Wurm Online. I also Watch movies via Hulu and Like listening to music... Now Obviously I need a system that operates all of these quite well... I want to be able to run on maximum graphics and not lose a beat. Also I typically will run somewhere between 2-4 clients currently of wurm... use to be 8-10... before version1.0 I would like to be able to run 8-10 again... on maximum graphics if that is at all possible on any system... I also tend to run diablo and league of legends in the background... and watch my shows with constant alt tabbing... yes terrible for skill gains on wurm but hey I like to have options at my fingertips Most computers Seem to have the same problem with me running this hard... Fans overheat and stop working. It has to be a laptop as i play in a semi truck. So.... Let the talks commence! What would you guys suggest I look into buying for my 2013 Computer? If it isn't terribly expensive it doesn't have to last too long... 1 year or so... maybe more... if its over 5k I'll plan on using it for atleast 3 years. probably more. =] I use USB for headset/Mouse and Prefer a full keyboard built in but I don't mind using another usb for an external ergonomic keyboard. =] Thanks for your time!

  25. Ok - I know that you *can* play Wurm on a modern notebook, but I'd like to find out what kind of mobile PC you need to get a reasonable performance and graphics quality. I'm currently playing Wurm on a desktop PC (Intel Core i7-2600K, 3.4 GHz, 8GB RAM, Geforce GTX 580, dual screen), giving me excellent graphics and a good game performance. Now I'm planning to buy an ultrabook with Intel Core i7-3517U (1.9 GHz), 4GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 - and I have no idea what Wurm will feel like on such a machine. Will it be pleasant to play - or wil it be slow and awkward? I bet some of you are playing on a similar hardware platform, and I would be interested to learn about your experience. Are there better alternatives than the one described above? What do you recommend?
