  4. Hey all! It's just under 2 weeks now until Wurm Unlimited releases! Excited? You can pre-order the game from DLGamer and get 20% off the initial Steam price if you want. The first batch of updates to the permissions system went live this week. Tich told me to tell you that she's sorry that there were some teething issues - like settings not always transferring to the new system properly - but we hope it'll be well worth it in the long run with just how much better the new system makes things. I'd strongly recommend looking at the Wurmpedia article on Permissions if you're unsure about anything - the Wurmpedia team (in particular Keenan) have put a huge amount of work into making it as accurate and complete as possible. As for devs, they mainly continued with general polish and bugfixing work on Unlimited this week. But we do have a few other things to show off that might interest you, like visible adamantine and glimmersteel armour... catch it all below! The Week In Patch Notes The big story this week is the new permissions system, though there were quite a few other things that went live this week; like the awesome new deed plan viewer & exporter. I've seen some crazily complicated deed plans that people have effortlessly been able to export from directly in-game! There were also some general fixes. 06/10/15:New Permissions System! Adamantine & Glimmersteel Armour Textures This week, Saroman worked on textures for addy & glimmer armour so that it can be made to display correctly. Yet another thing for you Wurmians to wear! Oh how we spoil you. DeedPlanner Updates Warlander sent us a few pictures of his latest coding successes with the village planning tool DeedPlanner. He's getting ever-closer to being able to go live with bridges, which we'll also add to the in-game deed exporter so you can export on-deed bridge designs to the planner too. Screenshot of the Week This week's eaglespirit-themed screenshot was taken by Borgir, and happened to coincide with an eclipse too. It's quite mystical! What does the Eaglespirit want?!   6. Due to cynical placement of wardeeds both legitimate and one placed by use of a bug with converting within opposing influence this would be a useful mechanic to introduce to the chaos server. Appropriate compensation would have to be given to deed owners in the area but it would make it far more difficult for any single kingdom to restrict access to the hota zone and go some way to reintroduce a semblance of competition at the event.

Simply what the title says - remove seryll, glimmer, and ada items/lumps/ore/etc. from the mission database, as in - no missions should ever spawn for Valrei that require sacrifice of the base ore/lumps or any items derived from them, of any quality level. Almost every other mission I can think of is possible with enough population/time/effort, as the resources needed are available in the persistent world, or are driven by skills (i.e. create 20 colossus may take forever and not get done in a given mission timer period, but with enough people, there's no reason it couldn't be - clay, stone/bricks, and people - nothing outrageous there in terms of need - if the desire to get the mission done is present). Currently there is a "sacrifice 500 decent seryll lumps" mission up on Serenity - - there's no reason this mission or any like it should be included in the mission database. While technically possible, it is not feasible or plausible - even if the server were to have a full 400 population, all of whom save every lump of seryll they've ever obtained ever for a mission, and then all sacced it - it's questionable if that would be enough lumps, let alone enough of 30 ql (decent). I'd wager that 500 decent seryll lumps haven't even been generated on Serenity ever. These moon metals are rare enough and valuable enough as it is - there's no reason to include missions that require them, as there is no plausible way they will ever get done, even if player desire is at 110%...amounting to stalled missions, stalled Valrei progress, and general frustration. I'd add in remove sacrifice 1000 decent white-dotted flowers too, but that'd be a bit of a hijack of my own topic. Every mission should be doable based on persistently available resources, skills, creature counts on the servers, with enough population, etc. While making 50 caravels may not get done - it COULD get done without relying on limited-spawn resources like moon metals. Otherwise, these particular moon metal-related missions just amount to the RNG deciding which faction gets shafted in a scenario, and that's wrong - elements of randomness are fine of course in the mission selection, but every mission SHOULD be REALISTICALLY doable - even if that means the server had to be at full pop and work non-stop through the duration of the mission, so be it - but missions involving obscene numbers of ultra-rare materials don't do anything for the gameplay except create roadblocks and dictate event outcomes that should be dictated by true hard work and sacrifice by the players, not losing RNG roulette.
  8. Well we have been getting rewards added into the mix and they are great so i am suggestion a new one. Make it so you can get adamantine, glimmersteel and seryll ore/lumps randomly when mining just like the other things they have been adding.
  9. Okay, so i know Glimmersteel on small weapon is useless, because the swing timer is capped so it cant get any faster, but what about Adamantite, does the damage bonus still work on the smaller weapons (Small mauls, Shortswords, Small axes)??
