  5. Here in the next handful of days I'll be releasing several ponies from my stables into the "wild". These will be ponies with 3 speed traits or less, with a few possibly having undesirable traits as well. I'll post a list of names here as I release them, so if you find a "lost" horse in the H19/20 area check here to see if it fits the listed names and if it does go ahead and keep it or whatever you'd like. I happen to hit (keybind) take on a banner as i passed by and got the steal action "[21:01:37] You start to steal the Jenn Kellon tall kingdom banner" which filled the action bar, but did not complete similar to standing in the way of a fence. In addition, i could not interrupt or escape out of it even when it the action bar had stopped, i had to disembark from wagon to interrupt and once i figured out what happened i tried again and had to get back on wagon to interrupt. The item was planted and in perimeter of a deed [20:59:33] An elegant symbol of allegiance and faith. The Jenn Kellon tall kingdom banner has been firmly secured to the ground by Paulofdune.   10. I found the concept of the priest great but wow not with this restrictions, its realy not playable. Priests typically cannot do any of the following actions, with some exceptions. See the table below for details. Improve, continue or destroy/bash items, walls or structures, or repair structures. However they are permitted to create and plan items and structures. WTF it forces the players to make an alternative character if the trying being a priest, this is a total misconception on the freedom servers in my mind.

I'm looking for a freedom deed to be around other players, and learn more about the game. I'm generally a fast learner, and easy to get along with. I am currently a premium member, so my skill gain isn't capped at 20. Thanks.
  12. Pretty much what title says. Ive got a server running a custom map, with freedom kingdom. Epic setting is on and i see the game refer to its cluster as "epic" now and then, but the locate artifact spell gives the "The artifact was cloaked from sight by the gods" message. I would really love to add the artifacts somehow. Any way to mod it? (I know i can simply spawn them in, but this is not a creative map. Its with other players playing fair adventure. Simply spawning em in random and giving em to people would be somewhat retarded. Ive thought of some workarounds if its not possible, like having people make a specific number of mats, items etc and "sacrifice it" to my gm for a random artifact. The sacrifice being extereme and worthy of an artifact) Pretty much i want everything wurm has to offer available on my server.
  13. Since the enclosure rules were removed, it's essentially "deed it or lose it" on Freedom Isles. This is an absolutely horrible policy and makes the game less attractive. The game already costs money to play with full features. Why should I have to pay more to protect my things in a PVE server? I think enclosures should be protected again. The enclosure rule had a measure against inactive players already. (If a fence decays, it's no longer an enclosure and people can do whatever to it.) I was considering buying premium time, but since I found out the enclosure rule had been removed, I'm hesitant. This may tip the balance in favor of me going back to Minecraft or RuneScape rather than continuing to play Wurm, which is expensive with only subscription fees.
  14. Just a quick survey here everyone. I recently spoke with someone in a topic concerning roleplay and its place in video games. I suggested to one of the participants - Malena - that I would help construct a roleplay village if she could find enough people interested in the concept. Today I'm curious to know how many people would be interested in playing in a proper roleplay village and/or alliance. I'm talking good structured roleplay, with rules to reinforce the atmosphere/setting, backstory, possible "quests" and even village/alliance specific currency. If anyone is interested in this level of roleplay within Wurm, please do comment here. If you are not interested in playing in such a village, then please do not respond. I'd like this thread to remain void of any derailment or hatefulness. As I told Malena, if there are enough people who would seriously enjoy this kind of playstyle then I'd be happy to lend myself and what resources I have available to construct such a village.   15. Being on one of the 'dead' servers, Exodus, I often wonder if there are any big villages out there on any server. It seems most of the deeds I know of only have 1-5 active players. Are there more active places? Does anyone know the most active and/or the deed with the highest population? Does anyone know the most active and/or the server with the highest average population? (Xanadu is a given, but there's so much more land to cover)

  17. I'm considering coming back to Wurm. I'm looking for to buy an account that is similar to the one I sold in Freedom. Fighting 60-70 Things that I like to do (40-50s -but not mandatory). Mining Blacksmithing Cooking Digging Masonry ---------- My budget is flexible but I would like to keep it cheap unless it's a stellar account. I am not interested in the deed. Mid level items/armor are OK. Thank you!
  18. Let's say Player A has a deed. She minds her own business on a PVE server. Let's say Player B lives nearby. He, for whatever reason, has warranted a KOS on Player A's deed. Case 1: Player B minds his own business and never returns to Player A's deed. This is fine. Case 2: Player B does not mind his own business and enter's Player A's deed. Player A's deed is not a highway, so he is not welcome and the KOS is legitimate and allowable. Player A is justified here, whereas Player B is not as he should not be entering an area where he is unwelcome. In this case Player A has low FS and bad gear, so he leaves when attacked by guards. This is fine, but current game mechanics do not punish him for returning to the deed multiple times. Case 3: Player A's deed covers a highway. This is not fine. Player A has forfeited the right to KOS players by deeding over or building a highway. This is not the subject of my suggestion. Case 4: Player B does not mind his own business and has high FS and good gear. He kills all of Player A's guards and stays on her deed just to harass her. This is not okay. Regardless of Player B's age and status, he is unwelcome on Player A's deed and therefore should not be there. To rectify case 4, I will make a few suggestions. These changes to KOS should be restricted to the pure PVE servers, but Chaos and Epic players who also play on Freedom servers are welcome to comment here. The suggestions are independent and are designed to be +1/-1'd independently (and implemented independently if at all). Suggestion 1: Boost the combat rating of all guards on deed by 100 vs players on the Kill on Sight list. This applies to spirit templars and tower guards whose towers are on the applicable deed. This should be enough of a boost to deter even the strongest unwelcome players from harassing others. This has no effect on cases 1 and 2. In the event the situation is an example of case 3, Player B should have a /support ticket open anyway for being KOS'd from the highway. Until it is resolved it is unwise to enter Player A's deed. This suggestion therefore has no effect on case 3. Suggestion 2: Auto-kill players who remain in hostile perimeter for too long or who hop in and out of hostile perimeter too many times. An auto-temp-ban situation may be required for players who choose to park KOS'd alts on hostile deeds for "fun" and then re-park them once they die (i.e. run to deed, die to guards because KOS, respawn and repeat). There is a nice little time limit already in-game for us. When a KOS'd player is on your deed for an extended period of time you get two messages: [00:47:42] Something is wrong. An irritating feeling comes over you and you cannot focus. Your normal skill gains suffer. [00:52:42] You now feel greatly disturbed by an enemy presence. While your normal skills still suffer, your aggressive actions are probably more effective. When the second message appears, the KOS'd player should be auto-killed. Retention of inventory contents is optional and up to the developers. This has no effect on cases 1 and 2. It also has no effect on case 3 for the same reasons as suggestion 1. Suggestion 3: Allow players to kill other players who remain on deed long enough to get the second "enemy presence" message. This is for players who choose to take matters into their own hands and is potentially very problematic. Again, no effects on cases 1, 2, or 3. It may cause a problem with case 4 as it involves player vs player combat and the deed owner may die in this case. Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Please post here. If you decide to +1/-1, please add a reason.

To make the point of this thread simple and sweet, here is the goal: collecting data and compiling research as to why new players often quit playing Wurm early into their Wurm life, or what inspires them to continue playing Wurm and developing friendships within the community. Whether you're a veteran or a new player, please chime in as to why you believe new players leave Wurm so suddenly, or why they find good reasons to stick around. I would especially appreciate the opinions of new players on this matter, as these testimonies will come from first hand experience. Be sure to list several reasons, in detail, that you feel qualify, such as: Population density - too many people on a server, not enough people, or just the right amount?Game mechanics - maybe it's difficult to understand some features, or perhaps you enjoy the challenge?Friends - hard time making friends, or were you welcomed readily with open arms?Early Stages - is it hard to get past the early stages of leveling up skills, or do you find it relatively easy? How do you feel about the ratio of successes to fails when crafting at low levels? Is getting started on your first projects (such as a house) a good or bad experience?Premium - is it hard to make the leap to buy premium, or did you go all-in and subscribe as soon as you could?Goals - not sure what to focus your efforts on, or do you already have dreams of castles and kingdoms just waiting for you to build them?These are just some ideas to provoke thought and encourage new players to share their experiences. If you're a new player reading this, please share your frustrations and your joys of Wurm Online. If you'd rather keep your feelings and ideas private, you can pm me instead of commenting here. Special Request: Keep it civil in here amongst yourselves. Bashing other players directly or by name isn't what this thread is about.

I’d rather not spam the suggestion forum, so since all of my suggested items here affect Chaos and PMK’s (I cannot speak for Epic in these issues, so I am limiting myself to talking about Chaos and Freedom here), I will have them here as a package of changes that I believe should be looked into for the Chaos server moving forwards. Wild/Chaos is an old server, the oldest in the game. Some would be happy enough to either wipe it clean or even have an entirely new map. I believe this is a short-sighted view which does not take into account the broader history of the server and the game in general. Balance is not a static thing, sometimes it can take a year or more for a problem to become apparent. The creation of the kingdom system, changes to the kingdom system and the introduction of PMK’s over the years have included changes meant to improve Chaos. Resetting the map will not change what actually needs changed, it will simply wipe away the lessons of the past and fail to address other core issues. So, that all being said, here is in my eyes some of the main things that needs to change in regards to Chaos and possibly PMK’s in general. Replace MR/JK/HotS templates with a Blacklight one and Whitelight one. Upon founding (or conversion in case of existing kingdoms), you would pick your light and your patron God(s) from that light (possibly two, to allow a better mix of champs).​ Kingdom deed cap: 10-15 max, possibly the higher number available through an upgrade from Kingdom to Empire status. Intended result would be to help make deed warfare less likely and more considered than currently. Reinstate alliances between WL-WL and BL-BL alongside smaller kingdom sizes. Full member list for the Chief, ability to kick offline and off server players (similar to village screen maybe) and possibly even whom they were invited by. Ability to change Chief title upon founding and at coronation. New Kingdom title: Chat moderator, with associated powers within Kingdom/Alliance channels, but not village. Add a loyalty variable to towers, similar to alignment. Any tower beyond around 200-300 tiles from a deed would begin to slowly lose loyalty until reaching 0. At this point it would switch to no-known-kingdom status, with no influence and attacking anyone. The intended result here would be to make territory more of a fluid thing away from permanent settlements, while still allowing a kingdom to hold their core territories. Change Chaos’ name back to Wild. The change seemed contrived, trying to bury an ugly past. Chaos as a name is worse in fact, with its connotations of entropy and decay. Wild, somewhat chaotic but fun at the same time is what the server should feel like to play on, it should reflect that in its name once again. (okay this first one is mainly a personal preference, I admit it.) Change the Freedom cluster server arrangement to give Chaos more prominence while allowing free travel around it. On the last issue, I believe it would integrate Chaos better into the Freedom community and make PvP an easier option for anyone interested. The old kingdom templates (if not completely wiped) could be used to bring attention to the server on Freedom and showcase certain features. The below image is one method of doing this and would include GV being repurposed as a Blacklight server and a tutorial island being constructed on Xanadu. All of the templates would be locked in an alliance with freedom kingdom and each other, ensuring the continuity of peace outside Chaos.

This is a supreme example of the item, with fine details and slick design. A mallet must be used on the toolbelt in order to smooth out a quirk.   22. Ever since the update that added our most anticipated feature, bridges have been springing up all over the place in Wurm, and the interest doesn't seem to be dwindling. With that in mind, I thought it might be nice to compile a record-book of such for the largest bridges created in Wurm to date. If you're interested to see how your bridge project fairs compared to the efforts of others please do comment and give the Intel regarding your creation. The information I'm collecting is fairly simple, and with it I'll compile a list of the top record bridges depending on category. This is what I need from you: Bridge material (Rope, Wooden, Stone, Marble) Bridge format (Flat or Arched or Sag %) How many bridge segments Total length of the bridge (segmented and single segment bridges will be listed separately) Bridge Width (1,2,3) Flat bridge height (specify over water or just over land) Arched bridge height (specify over water or just over land) Amount of materials used total (not including any dirt for dirt spires/ramps) Bridge name The different categories of records along with which bridges hold the records will be updated in 1 week from today. As new bridges are built and surpass old records, the records will be updated. I hope this will be a fun little bit of competition for everyone and an interesting insight into the massive projects of others.
  23. Hey I have a Knarr that I do not know what happened to the key for it. I went to try and lockpick it with an 83QL lock...but my chances were at 1% and lowered with each attempt. I wondered if there was a way for me to put it up on a "salvage claim" and somehow get the lock removed through that by a GM. I figured maybe this wouldn't be an issue as I do have proper ownership to the boat, and the player I got it from is the one who lost the key. I have a lock to replace that one with..but I can't get it off. It is currently on my deed, and moored. I wouldn't mind paying the salvage fee if that is what it will take to get the lock removed so that I may replace it with the one I made (which has a key). I just would hate for the key to turn up elsewhere and off goes my boat. Can this be done or is lockpicking the only possible way and somehow I must get it up even though I play on a non pvp server?
