Currently Floor Boards require 21 planks and 2 large nails, which is a huge amount of actions and material for something who's only purpose is paving. Reducing the materials to 4 or 5 planks and 1 or 0 nails would bring it's effort closer to that of other paving slabs.

I am building wooden floors for my house, and I came up with an interesting idea. My idea is to have different types looks for each type of wood for the boards on the floor. (Just like boats). Just a suggestion, please leave some feedback.

Do floorboards come out looking the same no matter what wood is used? Trying to match some existing ones, but doesn't specify when examined so I'm hoping that's the case.
