  1. I was able to forage through a plank fence to a node on a tile just outside my deed. Not sure if that is intended.
  2. I recently saw this problem on Dracaa's Twitch wurm stream (I hope she doesn't mind me posting a bug report!): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1600475686 A lot of people use low rope fences around their boat docks as a decoration, because the low rope fences supposedly don't prevent access, and yet still look good in the maritime setting. Dracaa was able to load and unload cages through a low rope fence, and was able to board a ship through it. However, when it came to disembarking from the ship onto the nearest tile (through the low rope fence), the low rope fence blocked her and she had to disembark into the water. (I believe this is due to a more recent fix to stop people disembarking through high (solid) fences into buildings and other private areas) Please fix it so that the low rope fence does not block disembarking - it shouldn't ever block access on any occasion. Thanks!
  3. The hit box for the camellia hedge for animals is too small they can literally hide there and sometimes its hard to click on them, though for players they can't get close enough, but for the animals they can almost as if pass through it. Here's the image https://imgur.com/a/i3SVjWB
  4. Ok I have a marble chain fence on my perimeter .. I need to repair it as you can see. But I do not get a repair option.. so I run to fence just like it ON my deed, and there I did have a repair option. I tried marble bricks and shards and just a stone brick.... the stone brick worked on my ON deed fence.. so I run to my off deed fence and the repair option appears..........BUT...........it just appeared just once... After I did the initial repair it still needs worked on but once again i am not getting the option to repair.
  5. Bridges are magnets for critters. They get trapped and die on them. I now have like 8 corpses on one of my bridges that are stuck. I can't access them from on or off the bridge. Looks really bad. So, I've decided I'll be fencinng off my bridges from now on, locked with the exception of allowing kingdom to pass. Keeps bridges safer and cleaner. However, this breaks the highway rules I believe (or so I have been told). So, can we do fence gates on bridges, or anywhere else for that matter, if we always keep kingdom permissions on for public access? Thank you!
  6. I am trying to fence in a small part of my mine on deed. When I try to put a fence at the edge tile of the deed in the mine, standing on the deed side I get this message [12:19:20] You are not allowed to make a fence in a cave when not on a deed. I am able to build fences in the mine without it being reinforced on other tiles, but because I was having an issue I reinforced the edge tile just to see if it helped, but it did not. I went to the CA and gave them the information and they suggested I post it here. [12:17:31] <Timothymarker> If you can please make a screenshot and post in on server bugs forum, it may be a bug or unintended behaviour, sorry, needs sorting out I fear I thank you for your time and look forward to your solution.
  7. hi. Trying to build a stone fence at the highlighted border. There is a pottery T arch there, which shouldn't be a problem. There is a camelia hedge adjacent to the left. There is a rendered wall at 90 degrees to left. Error reads: [20:49:14] There is a fence or wall there. Action not allowed. Will attempt taking the hedge down and report back if it makes any difference. Edit: Taking down the hedge didn't help. There is also a pottery T arch where that rendered wall is. So it is a corner made of 2 pottery T arches. I suspect that may be the problem as on the other side of the house, I used a regular arch on one side and had no problems.
  8. After completing the new stone L/R arch combination I tried to build a pair of stone and iron parapets under it. With my bar and bricks in inventory I activated my trowel and right clicked on the tile border, just like I do with the legacy arch. But I get no fence option with the new arch. However I can still build parapets under the legacy single tile arches.
  9. Perhaps we could have a better looking option for gates in a chain link fence. Take the model of the current chain fence. Place a ball or other ornament on the top of the masonry post. Opening animation could have the chain lower to the ground, much the same as an incomplete chain link fence. Yes? No? Better Ideas? Mal
  10. I'd really love a fence that players can cross, but animals can't. Could we add that feature to woven fences? We could make it so that animals can't cross unless they're led across by a player. I wouldn't mind if a new type of fence was made for this function, but it may just be easier to modify the already existing woven fences.
  11. I have several issues with buildings and fences in Wurm. Problem 1: Fences require 1 unit of rocks, shards, planks. Yet they only restore a flat 10 damage, and always take 30 seconds. No skill adjustment, no quality adjustment, nothing. For a repair: I suggest the repair is completed like any other item, and will consume quality as the item is repaired The amount of quality reduced would be dependent on the construction skill of the repairer. The amount of damage repaired would be dependent on the repair skill of the repairer. The timer for such actions would be 30 seconds - ((10 * repair skill)+(10 * Construction skill)) Allowing for as low as 10 second repair actions. For an improvement: I would suggest that the improvement process is just like any other. The primary building material or tools be used. Total improved cannot exceed quality of material? Total improvement would be Material QL/ # of primary items in construction. Thus 1 stone brick at 60 quality would at most improve a Stone Fence by 6 points, and will not improve the wall over 60ql in total, however tools would improve beyond that. Problem 2: Walls and fences don't always require their building material for repair/improvement. Rope fences require planks. Is built with shafts and ropes. (planks work with this how?) Woven fences require wood scraps. Repairs with Wood scraps. (only problem is you can only get this by making other things.) Round pole fence Low & High repairs with planks, and is make with shafts and nails. (this should repair with shafts.) Crude wooden fence: repairs with planks, (this at least makes sense.) Wooden fences: (works fine as is) Hedge fences: There is currently no way to improve these fences. Perhaps a hedge could take damage over time at it's highest growth stage, and this could be reduced by pruning. The hedge could also be improved in a similar way, if it is pruned and on a growth with 0 damage it would improve slightly? I'm not going to list the stone variants, as I think the list above makes my objections evident. I want to also take a moment while requesting this change, that this is not all meant to be implemented. It's a series of request.to make the repairs a little more in line with the rest of the system. Thanks!
  12. Ok so we have seen some player made responses to rifts. Most notably is creating safe pens..... however months of rifts have left us with so many fences rotting in the rift areas. I propose a 'barricade' that you can plant on the edges of tiles... kinda like temporary fences that are heavy and hard to move, yet provide you with a movable pen so you dont have to keep rebuilding fences and letting them rot. They can be plantable, very heavy so hard to move them, and rot rather fast.... we are already making safety pens for rifts, this will help eliminate more rotting junk on our servers.
  13. I found it extremely difficult to destroy a partial rope fence. The fence had these stats: [22:56:16] QL=9.901449, dam=0.0 I used a large maul with a QL = 18 and it was destroyed, useless and tossed away. Then I used a maul of QL = 27 and it was destroyed, useless and tossed away. Lastly I pulled out my large axe of QL = 69 and it destroyed the partial rope fence, but took 29 damage in doing so. Since I made the ropes I know they are not made of titanium! So is this a bug? If so, please fix it.
  14. A fence will limit wall construction (wooden or stone) on any floor above it to only an arch. With an arch and fence already built on ground level, all floors above can only have another arch built on that tile border, no other wall type options are available. Presumably also the case (though untested) if the fence is already constructed on any floor it would block those above (and possible even below) (Originally reported in game by Nyuna on Xanadu, but reproduced by myself to double check)
  15. So this has bugged me forever, but never posted about it. Does it bug anyone else? * You can (and must) start a fence while standing on a tile that the fence/title border is connected to. However, to finish the fence, you have to move to another tile or be on the very back edge of the same tile, away from the fence. Why not just let the fence be created and finished from anywhere on any tile that is touching that fence border?
  16. So riding down a slope to a fence, I did not intend to try riding through it, I wanted to turn and follow it a short distance to get around it. As soon as I got near the fence, this was on a 33 slope I bugged into the wall and could not move in any direction, as well as being dismounted from the horse. This seemed to be the same effect as described when the source salt spell is cast to create a wall. Photo is from after I relogged, but before I dragged the horse out of the fence. This occured tonight on the chaos server after the latest patch.
  17. While waiting for an abandoned off-deed structure to decay so that I could liberate it's contents in the name of humanity, I decided to see if I could bash the fence which was so sadistically imprisoning innocent BSB. Assuming this was prevented by structure permissions (as the structure was intact) I was surprised to find that I could bash the fence but was given a stern warning by the unsympathetic server over-mind; The fences surround the structure which consists of only arched walls with no doors. Every piece of the structure is intact and apart from likely being marked as abandoned, is still under item protection. After reporting the bug I was informed that the bug is in fact in the warning message, and not in the ability to bash the fence as fences are controlled by deed, and not structure. I was instructed to report the bug in the name of science. I shall await the destruction of the building and hope that I may find comfort in the dream that the cruelly subjugated BSB may one day return to the wild.
  18. I don't know if this is asking too much. I think it would be great if in addition to the wood and brick bridges we can currently build, a new version without the guardrail/parapet so after completion we could have the possibility of build any of the fence types we have on game now. Currently bridges are nice, but is hard to blend it into current projects wen the parapets doesn't match with the fences we have. Since bridge tiles/blocks seems to be a solid object and bordless maybe this is not possible, or too hard to implement, but i had to ask anyway.
  19. I started new project, the stable. When I was building, I saw that... [18:45:31] You cannot place a fence where a structure exists. It makes impossible to continue my project.
  20. Building chain fences on balconies and noticing how there is about a 1 meter buffer, that prevents me from getting up close. Other fences I can touch. This seems like a bug or unintentional. I think it is the best looking barrier for stone towers and the low profile is ideal for preserving the lovely views, but that buffer is so bad, it makes looking down over the edge impossible, unlike other fence types.
  21. Our options for fencing off house walls aren't very attractive in most cases. I'd love to see actual banisters or railings. Could have many types: Wood, Iron, Copper, Brass, Marble, Stone, Silver, Gold... Also, Rustic and Elegant versions. This would allow our houses to look so much more complete, rather than sticking farm fences or castle tops inside the house to prevent falling off the balcony. Currently, I'm finding chain and rope fences are the least ugly options. Seems to me, now that the mechanics are working for regular fencing, we could get some great Wurm artists to put a few options together Rustic Wood:
  22. I would like to construct a barn and put stables inside, but in order to do this I have to be able to build fences and gates anywhere inside of the structure on the first floor. I think a lot of people would appreciate this option! I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
  23. I would like a chain fence gate added to the game. We have these nice chain fences now but if we use them as edging around say a garden area with trees and shrubs we block off all access to that area or are forced to put in a huge gate in comparison to the small chain fence that the other tiles have. The only other option is to bash down a fence every time you want to make changes or repair any statues/decoration in the garden area. To make it visible as the gate just put a lock on the center link or something
  24. Well since it has been told that fences on the bottom floor might take more time to implement i was wondering if we can get an arched wall type with a railing/fence built in at the bottom of the existing arched walls? We not only can put these to use as balconies on the upper floors but also make a nice effect for barns and pens on the bottom floors as well. If implemented having a gate/door version would be great too but i will settle for just the arched fence if that is all we can get.
  25. Is this ever going to happen? It would make houses have so much more options and designs, without adding putting too much effort or manpower towards new models, not to mention the code already exists for upper floors. I tried surfing around the forum but I couldn't find any discussion on this anytime recently. It was a bit of a let down once I got my house plan finished only to find out you can't do fences or gates for that matter, inside. Now I'm stuck with trying to come up with temporary solutions that would still look nice, yet do the same thing as planned. Please Rolf, please let us have them on the first floors aswell. Pretty please? (See below)
