  2. seryll bug epic

    I butchered some deathcrawlers on Blackbone (starter deed on BLH) on epic the other day. One of the deathcrawlers produced a seryll lump. I was not able to "take" it, I had to steal it. The other items Meet, glands, and the valrei item I was able to take without stealing. It was just the seryll lump I had to steal :/

  7. This suggestion is for Epic and Chaos players only. In Elevation all the villages of the same Kingdom are in the same Alliance. The Alliance has a capital. After winning the HOTA there are items that are sent to the token of that capital. These items are: - 5 glimmersteel lumps - 5 adamantine lumps - 1 Hota statue - 1 medallion After playing on Elevation for 6 months I have not been rewarded any of these items. I have participated in HOTA more then 20 times with the winning Kingdom. Here is my suggestion to stop letting just one person control these items. m! If yoA point systeu attend the HOTA you are rewarded 1 HOTA point. You have to be online and in the HOTA zone to get the point and of course in the winning Kingdom. The person with the highest amount of points gets a item. After you get an item your points reset back to zero. Example 15 people go to the HOTA and they are all the same kingdom. They win. Everyone is rewarded 1 point. 3 people are left without an item. Well, the next time they go and win they will for sure get something because the other 12 people have 0 points while the other 3 people have 1 point.

  9. I looked around for other threads before posting this but couldn't find anything about anyone suggesting a spell to locate missions, however I am sure it has been mentioned before. Since Epic was based around the whole Valrei, gods, missions and scenario's theme it seems to me that most kingdoms only do their own server missions and do not OFTEN travel to enemy servers to complete them. My suggestion is to have a spell for ALL Priests that works similar to Locate Artifact, when cast it will give you a general direction to where the mission item/object/animal etc is. For example: Location: Affliction Mission: 4 of you must perform ritual of healing on tower Touchmee 334 located in the south regions. Players of WL would travel to Affliction and sail to the south of the server and cast Locate Mission facing North (for example), the Spell could be 60favor possibly? I don't know what other people would class as balanced/fair. After casting the spell you would receive a message the same to Locate Artifact. I believe this would work for the following Missions: Towers, Pillars/monuments etc, traitor animals and gifting items to avatars (to locate the Avatar). What you guys think?

  11. Radiant Valley A Heavy Role Play Alliance http://roleplaywurm.enjin.com/ The wars of far away kingdoms have effected the lives of many civilians across the lands. Homes have been destroyed and lives taken, leaving nothing for those who are left behind. Seeking the safety of the hills, small groups of refugees from many different kingdoms seek solace in the Radiant Hills. These people seek to reclaim the freedom and peace they once had before everything was destroyed by the invading armies. They will not be hopeless sheep though, they have vowed to never let another so easily change their lives. They strive to grow stronger with the sword in bow while also creating a community that can self sustain them while staying out of the political strife of the lands. Dreams of having a safe haven are once again close to being realized. Basic Information Villagers can build wherever they like the in the centralized area near the main household. The feel of the group is to be like pioneers with separate homes in the wilderness who create a village center for meetings and trade. The villagers should work together and share commodities; supporting each other in a barter like system. Guilds, churches, and politics are all future goals of the village to create story lines within the village. Characters talents (in character skills) will be loosely based on their skills in game. Although the focus of this group is not about grinding and more about role playing, your character can't really be a master swordsmen if the character has a fight skills of 2. More guidance on this will come later. The main story line of this group is about families who've moved away from their old lands to come to the wilderness and set up away from the dangers of war. They hope that they won't be troubled here but it may be possible. Many of the characters have most likely suffered loss. Griefing and stealing from one another will not be tolerated, unless by chance your character is a thief type and then plots may be constructed for your thieving ways. Once caught though, the community may see to remove you from their paradise in character. Death will be handled in character as well. With each death a character suffers, the character will suffer a major scar or other change to their body and actions. We will see death as the character being knocked out or severely wounded. If the character has died more then 10 times in game, then that character will die in character as well. The player will then have to make a new character to play under the name if they wish. Role play will be conducted by using the /me option and describing many of our actions included with dialogue. RP will be conducted in the Local Channel while OOC will be held in the Village chat. An Epic Problem ***Disclaimer: I am a Jenn-Kellon player on the Epic cluster, with not much PvP experience, so while I am trying to be open-minded and unbiased, there are many things I don't know/haven't experienced, especially about Chaos, and other kingdoms on Epic; this isn't supposed to be about kingdoms.*** TL;DR: Hey Rolf, the PvP environment on Elevation sucks! Maybe try implementing a server with landscape-based, conquerable chokepoints and campaign-style warfare. I think the majority of players on Epic (focusing mostly on Elevation here, as it is the "Main PvP Server" for the Epic cluster feel that currently there is a huge lack of PvP content on Elevation. The skirmishes forum thread (main thread for discussing PvP/linking deaths tabs and logs) is filled with players blaming the opposite kindgoms (or kingdom) for lack of action/fun. Idea: Have a server north of Elevation that is approximately the size of Chaos (or bigger, w/e) where there are 3 main kingdoms (or whatever) with similar kingdom mechanics as on Elevation/Chaos, but there is a totally different style of gameplay that involves a huge emphasis on territory, expansion, and incorporates some type of campaign format for warfare. I am bringing in aspects of games like WWIIOL and Planetside into this idea; the entire map would be covered with chokepoints/capturable areas which would provide resources for players, as well as hopefully provide some sort of momentum, so that the entire map would be conquerable by one side, and possibly. IMO, this would be a huge improvement over the current system, where people don't have enough of a reason to go out and fight other players. Sub-Idea: An addition to the above idea could be a total removal of preset kingdoms for the server, and making it a huge map (4x Chaos? more?) where players spawn into the map as one default kingdom (Freedom?) and then can choose to create alliances based on villages, and basically acquire and hold sovereignty by capturing chokepoints and placing deeds/etc. in them (or something.) This would allow large groups of players to settle in many spots throughout the map, and because of the size, only really interact with other alliances close to them. This server would of course be 100% FFA PvP. Quick background(blabla): At the moment the two main PvP servers (I'm not counting home servers because raiding isn't exactly a regular thing, and intra-kingdom PvP is punishable by banishment of accounts) are Elevation (Epic Cluster) and Chaos (Freedom Cluster.) From what I've seen of Chaos, it's got a huge land mass with more of a territorial aspect of warfare, and even then things progress slowly (again, idk much about daily Chaos PvP/gameplay so I won't talk much about it lol.) On Elevation, on the other hand, the server is very small (2048x2048 tiles) and each kingdom has their own little corner of the map, with the hota steppe in the center. There is very little territorial progression, as the map is tiny, and players don't see much cause in spending hours catapulting/digging through defenses of deeds into a part of the map that they won't occupy anyway. The main issue seems to be that Elevation is a tiny map bulit on the idea of kingdoms wanting to expand their territory, which doesn't happen. There's no reason to go raid an enemy except for the lulz and possible loot, which is ok but most players simply won't go out and do this, and there are not really any other options beside that (at least that happen more than once or twice.) If you have thoughts or suggestions to this idea, please post them! IMO, Epic could really use a totally different style/inspiration for warfare, and if you think this idea sucks, or have more to add to it, please post about it! I didn't provide many details, so feel free to add some if you like the idea!
  14. I know this is by no means a new observation - but imo something should finally be done about it. We all see them hundreds of times a day: annoying messages like are spamming the event tab on all Freedom servers, and they also do so in the Freedom twitter channels. Unless I'm missing some important secret information, these messages seem to be directed to Epic (and Chaos?) players only. Devs, please: playing on a Freedom PvE server I simply don't care about these events and I feel annoyed by that kind of event tab and twitter channel spamming! If I am not mistaken about the nature of these messages I consider them appearing on Freedom PvE servers a bug. Please remove them from the Freedom PvE servers and the Freedom tweets. (I'm pretty sure this must have been discussed before, but I couldn't find an official bug report - so here it is!)
  15. Hello, I know this is yet another thread about the same old fighting system however I am trying to shed some new light to the problem. I will not make any concrete suggestion yet since I am waiting for yours first. Here are a few problems that PvP has and need to be adressed. I formed these idea mostly from this thread and my own experience in attempting to PvP. http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/93673-brainstorm-for-pvp/ 1. I think the most fundamental problem with getting new people in PvP are the high prerequisites before entering the battefield, You basically have to do everything except PvP to prepare for it. 2. The combat mechanics are not rewarding by themselves, it depends too much on stats and the knowledge on how to juggle the system. 3. Wurm is a Medieval Fantasy world, yet PvP tactics have no solid corespondence with the real World, instead gatehopping/champtroll. 4. Battle Outcomes can be very predictable, Why fight if you know you are going to lose or achive nothing if you sacrifice youself. Wurm has an Intense PvP experience. You enter the fight with everything to lose and you can't simply respawn after you are defeated. Fighting is only the end result of a bigger system that involves resource gathering, crafting, politics and planning. This is in my opinion one of the strongest points that make Wurm different from other games and it should be exploited. So do you think these points are accurate? Is Wurm PvP forever doomed to be unsuccessfull due to its sandbox nature or things can change?

I made an alt yesterday and sent her to Epic MRH first then had intended on moving on over to Pristine but when i tried to use the portal and selected Pristine nothing happened and the game locked up on me. I closed the game out and logged back on to see if that helped but was not able to try to teleport again as the hour timer was active. I waited till the time was up and tried again this time the portal was only offering me the option to go to pristine and that was fine but it locked up on me again with the same error. [09:51:11] An error was reported from the login server. Please try later or report this using /support if the problem persists. [09:51:11] You can not transfer right now. That is the error message i keep getting and a CM told me to report it here on the /support i filed. The character's name is Anabella and is still stuck on MRH. I tried it again this morning with same results.

Create a new map the size of chaos for epic without home-servers but "home islands" that are factored into the size of the map, because as it stands the current epic maps are either ruined by Valrei events or lack any true definition in land(lack of real mountains,real islands, or just in general lack of contours) or too small(Affliction). No skill resets just a map and item resets.
  18. Hello! Dun Jore is looking for active players (new or old) to join our village. Or land is 29x35 with plenty of room to expand. We are an active and friendly group who just want to set up a great settlement with friendly villagers. We are apart of The Repbulic, a new and upcoming alliance with many members.   19. This is an interesting idea that I had, that I want to test the waters and see what people's thoughts are. Would people prefer if Mag Res/Res stones only protect the gear you have on? I don't think this is a change Epic will want, as they already have the looting code, but I do want to see the response to the idea I had. Also for the Chaos people I added an option to express your desire for the Epic loot code.

  21. Now with the implamentation of BL PMK's, Devs should look into the PMK creation system. As it is, the system requires 40 or more players to be ale to create a PMK. Lets be realistic, it is almost impossible to gather 25 ppl in wurm together at one time, let alone 40. I made this poll so we can let the Devs and Rolf know our thoughts and give them some suggestions on the amount of players that should be needed to create a PMK. If you think 40 is good, by all means post your constructive opinion without insulting or trolling. Please take this thread serious as it is a very important feature on Epic and Chaos.
  22. Hello, my name is David, I have been playing Wurm for a long time and have recently been thinking about writing about my experience and have decided to do just that. However, this is the first time I have ever written a short story (although I have always wanted to) let alone a story people will read (I hope), so as this will be a learning experience for me you may find my style of writing will change from time to time, although I will attempt to make it consistent. Furthermore, I have never been known for my ability to spell, although I would class myself as an average speller, some mistakes may crop up, so please bear with me. Before we get into the story I would like to go over some of my game history, just so it makes it easier to follow. I started in Wurm about 4 years ago, however my first attempt was very brief as my old PC wasn't up to running the game so after a week or two I gave up, in that time however I fell in love with the concept of the game and knew I would come back. So about 2 years ago I got a new laptop and within the first week I was wurming. I do not remember my first character, but when I joined the second time on the new laptop I became Bandon and settled on Desertion. I played as Bandon for a few months but never really accomplished anything, nothing that I remember anyway. Then I took a break from wurm again, I have taken a few breaks over the years, some voluntary and some due to technical difficulty or something of that nature that prevented me from playing. I will be referencing these breaks in my story, but to keep with the theme I will be referring to them vaguely, such as saying “I wandered into the woods and was not seen for some time†or something of that nature. Now this story will be about my third and current character Anarion, who is on Serenity. Some may know the name, not very many. I will be talking about Anarion's adventures in the third person and I will be keeping my story based on actual events that happened in game, although I will be adding some extra content for more depth in the story, especially at the start, but all of my adventures will be based off real in game experiences. (note- the first chapter is complete fiction for the purpose of setting up the story, the second chapter is loosely based on the tutorial.) Now, without any more delay or dilly-dallying and with no further ado what soever..... let the story begin... Chapter 1 – A life of Adventure In a small village in the heart of Desertion a soft wind blew, rustling the leaves of the trees in the orchard and stirring the dust on the gravel road. The town was like any other small rural village in the are, the people kept to themselves and travelers on the road were a rarity, although as the years progressed travelers came more frequently and it was for this reason that the mayor had decided to build an Inn in the heart of the village. It was by this Inn, that was rising from its foundations as the workers toiled with bricks and mortar, that a young man stood. He watched the workers laboring and marveled at the Inn, the first stone building in the village. But what really filled his mind was the thought of the travelers who would one day dwell within. The young man, Anarion was his name, had always dreamed of travelling, it was noted by other villagers that all he seemed to talk about was distant places he had heard of or about travelers he had seen and what they had said. The behavior was considered odd and so was he, it was not like normal villagers to obsess about distant places, of course when a traveler passed on the road everyone stopped to have a look, but not for long and they were soon forgotten about as the daily tasks took preference. But Anarion would not forget, he wished for nothing more than to join those travelers, to leave his small village and see the world. Anarion's desire to leave was always put down to his lack of friends within the village, even before he was considered “odd†he had very few friends and no one could say they knew him well. As a child other mothers would tell there children to go play with him, but Anarion didn't want to play, even as a child he was reclusive, preferring to learn a new skill than charging around a field with the other children. When his parents asked about this he used his size as an excuse, claiming that the other children were bigger and even if he did go with them he wouldn't keep up, his parents didn't push the issue as they saw no problem in a boy putting practical skills over playing. Now as young man he still kept to himself, although not exactly friendless, though you would never see him in the local tavern. His lack of friends was not the reason Anarion wanted to leave, nor was it his dreams of adventures or his parents passing a few years previous, although they were a part. It was Anarion's greed that was the source of his desire. Anarion's village was not wealthy, although not exactly poor either, but with no valuable resources it was never going to be a village known by any save those who lived there, even those that passed through were oblivious to its name. This is the reason that Anarion wished to leave, in books, of which the town had few, he read about cities and great markets, of ports with massive ships and about the richer world outside his village. He was sure that if he left and made for the town of Strong Box, where every adventure he read began, he would find a place to make his fortune. He believed he had the skill, the knowledge and the determination to make something of his future, so one morning as the sun rose and the day broke he stepped out the door of his family home, with his fathers old short sword on his hip, his savings in his pocket and a few items he would need in a backpack he left his village. As he looked back to his old house he considered what would become of it now that he was gone, it was a brief thought, as he turned his head back to the road in front of him he didn't look back again. His village was his old life, this was the begging of his new one.

Hello, there are a lot of you who know me, and know ive been playing for a good little while now, first i would love to say i have deeply enjoyed you all as a community and have enjoyed my experience in the world of wurm, but i will be leaving for the U.S. Army corps. sometime this fall/winter, and i no longer can play wurm as my time and attention is devoted towards training.   24. Nearly every single update seems to affect either freedom or epic in a bad way. It's really time to split up the code so both sides can enjoy the game to its fullest. This way for example freedom players can enjoy their fast guards again, and epic can finnaly have it's animal cap removed. Neither freedom or epic should have to suffer from mechanics added to solve problems which are non existant on the other side. A different playstyle means a different set of rules. So split the code between Epic and Freedom. Ps: I cannot speak for chaos, but I suspect that they would enjoy having their own ruleset aswell.
