  1. Hello, this might not be very popular. I dyed my toolbelt today. i wasn't sure why i was able to. You can't see it. Would it be possible to add a graphic to the avatar that represents the toolbelt? Does anyone agree that this would be a good thing?
  2. I think we should use lye to prepare wood, prior to dying, to give the dyes a better chance to show the correct colors. The lye should bleach it down to a very pale grey color, that will have almost no impact on the dyes color.
  3. These two images explain it all: About the dye + fence issue. The more desirable end result is what we see in the walls. So if fences should follow the values of walls, not the other way around.
  4. Since we have berry bushes, specifically blueberries, please allow harvesting them then making ink out of the fruit. Woad is scarce and linked to botanizing skill which is a pita to grind. Other ways to get blue dye and pink dye would be awesome. (Many people ask for woad plants but since we already have blueberrry, perhaps just introduce a new craftable item from there...)
  5. I was reading this: And agree with it completely, then it made me think, why don't we have multiple options for creating all the dye colors? We have flowers, berries, trees and many critters with various butcher parts. Plenty of ways to get dyes in different forms. This is a purely cosmetic part of the game, so it won't break PvP to expand on dyes. Give fighters that can't garden a chance to find all the colors. Give gardeners that can't mine a chance to find them all, etc. Just keep the QL of the dye tied to the skill of the dye making process.
  6. Hello fellow wurmians i am here for all your color needs in a bland wurm world anything from 70ql-90ql paints most colors are easy pm me or post here with any questions or jobs. Prices start from 11c kg to 55c kg depending on colors Thank you for your time
  7. Hellu, so currently we require 5.4kgs to paint a sailboat, 26kgs to paint a large cart and 66kgs to paint a colossus. Seems about right... But then to paint bulk storage bins and food storage bins, we need 128kgs of dye to paint just one. Seems a bit 2 much for this items. Any chance of reducing that amount so we can actually start seeing painted bsbs and fsbs in our homes pls?
  8. I'm looking for dyes in the following colours: Red: R=255 , G=0 , B=0 Orange: R=255 , G=128 , B=0 Yellow: R=255 , G=255 , B=51 Green: R=0 , G=255 , B=0 Blue: R=0 , G=127 , B=255 Purple: R=127 , G=0 , B=255 Pink: R=255 , G=0 , B=127 If you have or can make any of these, please let me know your price per kg
  9. I'm not sure why it's literally impossible to make dyes in primary colours, but I think this needs to be changed. It's fine if creating primary colours is hard, and takes a lot of time, skill and materials, but it seems silly to make it completely undoable. As things currently stand, there are two factors that prevent us making primary colours. The first is that there is a limit to how high the RGH values go. I think I heard somewhere it was just above 200? Since for any primary colour you need either red, green or blue to be 255, 200 makes it impossible. The second factor is that for some reason, all of the different coloured ingredients don't contribute only their own colour. For example, a cochineal is for red, but if you make red dye with a cochineal, the dye still has green and blue values. Either we should remove this, or make it possible to strip certain colour values from a dye, as you're not going to get primary colours without two of the RGB values being 0. I wouldn't even mind if the whole system was made harder to make up for these changes, but I'd really like to be able to make primary colours. We'll also need woad planters, as mentioned in another post, as woads are the only materials that are practically not available even to people with high skills.
  10. I'm trying to paint my walls rainbow coloured, but I can't work out how to get the colours I want. For example, for red, even when I use water and a cochineal, I get R=168, G=87, B=87. For the red I want I need red 255 and the other two zero. Does anyone know how I strip out the green and blue values? These are the colours I need. If anyone has the method/formulas for these, please let me know! Red: R=255 , G=0 , B=0 Orange: R=255 , G=128 , B=0 Yellow: R=255 , G=255 , B=51 Green: R=0 , G=255 , B=0 Blue: R=0 , G=127 , B=255 Purple: R=127 , G=0 , B=255 Pink: R=255 , G=0 , B=127

  13. http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Small_brazier Question came up today in CA Help about if you can dye a copper brazier to change the color of the flame. As it was found out, you cannot. I would like this information to be reflected under the notes section. Thanks!
  14. Unsure if black sheep already give black-dyed wool; however, if not, then this would be a nice aesthetic. RGB of the resulting sheared wool could be based off of the quality.
  15. Now we've built an extra level and a roof or two it would be pretty decent if painting a roof with Dye was an option. The wood shingle roof for example is pretty stark in it's standard colour. Just an idea though, the extra floors and built roofs are awesome
  16. It was an inevitable Would it be possible to allow us to paint bridges? possibly dye the sections one by one

This is because the colours either require more materials or are harder to acquire. If you want to order a custom colour use the tier system below. Find which colour is closest match to the one you want and that'll give you a rough idea of pricing. ------Tier 1: 10c per kg------(White, Green) ------Tier 2: 20c per kg------(Red) ------Tier 3: 30c per kg------(Yellow, Orange) ------Tier 4: 40c per kg------(Blue) ------Tier 5: 50c per kg------(Cyan, Pink, Purple) ------Tier 6: Varies, PM------(Black) These pictures were taken with white lighting and on a Pinewood surface. Your results may vary. I will however attempt to match or meet your required colour as close as possible. Please remember the surface you are painting has a massive effect on the overall look of dye. If you are unsure about which surface types are best and how they'll look, feel free to ask. ------Custom Dye Orders------ If none of these colours match what you desire then this is the area for you. Simply tell me what surfaces you intend to paint, what colour you want on the surfaces (RGB is normally the best) and I'll take these both into account and make the perfect match. In-terms of pricing, its the same as above, simply find a colour which is the same shade then you'll gain an understanding of the price range. Or just ask, I'm more than happy to help out! 20. What can i get for that if i should sell? i might be doing that.
  21. we know we can dye walls, but what about roofs? or thatched roofs?
  22. I noticed this bug when creating and mixing dyes. First i was making pure red dye from different ql cochineals. I combined dyes by dragging from waterskin to barrel and noticed higher ql and higher rgb-value dye actually lowered rgb-value of exiting dye in barrel (ql increased). Example: there was 3kg of 192-37-37 dye in barrel and i added 1kg of 229-26-26, end result was 4kg of 191-36-36! Other more visible bug i noticed when mixing white dye from zinc. Same as above happened few times but worst was when i finished mixing and put part of dye from barrel (16kg) to waterskins (2.5kg each). And then put the SAME value and ql dye back to the same barrel i took it, doing nothing to it, only moving from container to another and then back. Rgb-value dropped! Ql stayed same. This was easy to repeat. Didn't happen each time but about 1/3 times i tested. Please check the dye mixing/combining! - Cormax

  24. Hey, I am quite new to this forum so I apologize if this idea has been posted in the past. However, I have been researching some stuff about dyes and was thinking maybe we could add some more colors, since making a ton of blue or green dye just to level up is a bit useless. Based on how to make dye in real life, I had in mind the following: Pink Dye - Strawberries Purple Dye - Grapes Golden Dye - Cameleon Plant Yellow Dye - Daffodils or Sassafras Brown Dye - Walnut Orange Dye - Carrot I feel like Pink, Purple and Orange should be rather easy to make, Yellow and Brown a bit more difficult, and Golden could be difficult. Of course, the plants required would have to be added (at least some of them), but I feel like Carrots and Potatoes aren't too different, so at least that one does not seem too difficult to add. Optionally I feel like Pumpkins can maybe be used instead, if carving off the sides, but I am not certain that is actually something that can be done in real life as I have not tried it. What do you think?
  25. Ability to dye saddles? I would love to have a red saddle on my white horse...
