  1. New community map project 2.0 In Acaos' absence I have decided to update the map myself. I will update the thread's title whenever I update. I am currently hoping to update at least once a week. The map is still a work-in-progress! It is based on Acaos' last updated map plus the updates that had been posted in the old thread since his last update. Please inform me of any errors or other updates on the map. It's also been completely revamped, so please do leave feedback. The grid is the same from Acaos' map. That way deed locations are still sitting on the same coordinates. What do I want? Your deed locations, public mailboxes, public traders, merchants, rare fish, public tar pits, and public clay pits. Regarding roads To be included on future map updates roads must be either two or more wide or have sand on either side. They also must be publicly available. Regarding deed submissions If you are not the mayor of the deed you are submitting, do not submit it. Some people want to keep their deeds private and off the map. If you find your deed on the map and didn't want it on the map, send me a PM on the forums or in-game to have it removed. (You can find my name, and the names of my alts I'm likely to be on in my signature) Links: Shorter, less scary URL http://pristine.wurmonline.info/ (Thanks, Eject!) 2. From what i've seen, there are several roleplaying communities throughout the servers scattered about. This is by no means an attempt to unite them all, but rather just a group (approx. 4-8 people) interested in either joining an existing roleplaying community or starting fresh with like minded individuals seeking the same. Now this is starting to sound like a sketchy craigslist ad. There are a few forum posts about people starting roleplaying groups here and there, but the latest post seems to be over a month ago. We're on Freedom Isles, Celebration. Possibly interested in relocating. Disclamer we're looking for mature players and mature roleplay. I don't mean erotic roleplay. Open to ideas and reaching out a friendly hand to any interested parties. ~Sammond
  3. The Chaotic Brotherhood Hello all, and welcome. My name is Vinzen - also known as Priest, and I am leader of this multi-gaming community called The Chaotic Brotherhood. Before I begin I would like to make it clear that we do not currently own a deed (subject to change), but we are a multi-gaming community that has now expanded to Wurm and has made Jenn-Kellon it's home. The Chaotic Brotherhood is a multi-gaming community dedicated to making it's mark on the gaming world. We come from an ocean of different games searching for that one keeper that we can play any day, and all day long. We believe Wurm to be that keeper, and we need your help to find out. Our leaders come from a variety of different communites, and in their time with those communities they have gained a series of leadership skills. Unfortunately most of those communities now lie dead, however everything must one day die, as it begins it's life. Therefore we are hoping to make this community last throughout the years, and we have every ounce of dedication to do it. Rules Constant disrespect towards the community or any of its members is not toleratedWhile there are no activity requirements, all we ask is that you log in at least once every 7 daysTeamspeak 3 is essential for important tasks - (raids, defending our base, group exploring, etc..)We will never ask you to donate in-game or out-of-game money to the community, however we will ask for you to contribute in some wayYou cannot make any major changes to the land we build on or the surrounding land unless you inform a leader of your intentionYou will not slander our name while you represent us (This means do not be an annoying troll or mean soul in any form a chat towards other wurm players)You must be able to work in a team and follow instructions if given (Lone wolf's don't make it far with the Brotherhood)Do not attempt to unlock anyone's chest without their permission or take any other contents from itDo not repeatidly ask The Brotherhood and it's members for money (We take care of our own here, and if we can pay for your premium we will, however do not beg)If you are caught stealing from us you will be removed instantlyIf you are caught attempting to kill any one of us you will be removed instantly (We don't tolerate the whole "I was just playing around" speech)Do not be a sore winner (If you've got something to say to someone, use your weapon, not your text)Be loyal to us as we are to you*Defend the brothers and sisters of the Brotherhood Gaming Essentials Chaotic Brotherhood Website Teamspeak 3 Address: chaoticbrotherhood.teamspeak3.com Steam Community Registration For more information on joining our community, and the community itself.. 4. Hello Wurmians What it's all about: Since I play Wurm I heard a lot of ideas about how mining is done best. To verify the best methods I just started to enter my mining data into a Google Document. It's free for everyone to contribute. But please don't change anything someone else wrote (of course, right?). Requirements: If you wanna contribute you need Ago's great Wurm Skill Ratio tool. IMPORTANT: For the Wurm Skill Ratio tool to be able to work properly you have to set the skillgain increments to always (Wurm Settings -> Text -> Skillgain Tab Updates -> Always). (Thx Yaga) Oh... and a pickaxe of course. The Results: If we get enough enough data and I improve my Google Docs skills we should get some nice diagrams in the end showing us exactly what to mine at what skill to get the best results. Assumptions: - Circle of Cunning (CoC) gives a percentage increase in skillgain (f.e. a pickaxe - CoC48 increases the skillgain by 48%). - It is assumed as well that sleep bonus doubles the skillgain. - Wind of Ages (WoA) reduces skillgain since the mining timer is reduced. But since it is much harder to tell how much less skill you gain when using WoA tools I'd like to exclude WoA completely from the test for now. Assuring accuracy: To assure that the results are as accurate as possible the test requests that you only enter data if: - the mining session was at least 50 actions - (100 would be better but my time won't allow more sometimes so I won't ask it of you ) - you used sleep bonus the whole time or not at all - (no entries if sleep bonus ran out halfway) - you have no Wind of Ages (WoA) on your pickaxe - (I hope we can all agree that it reduces skillgain plus would make the test extremely complicated) - you are on Freedom - (since on Epic servers skillgain is somewhat increased) If anyone has any objections to how I wanna run the test or can show me a significant error in reasoning feel free to reply here. So if you wanna contribute you can find the document here: Mining Test - Feel free to contribute Thx for reading, Tekari TL;DR-Version: Mining Test to verify best skillgain method - if you think this thread is TL; and you DR then please don't contribute
  5. Hey everyone, I want to start this thread to coordinate so we can make a bridge from Independence to Deliverance once they are implemented. The project is not gonna be easy we are gonna need tons of dirt dumped into the ocean to create 1x1 tiles in order to be able to create the bridge. The construction of this bridge will improve transportation and it will also boost economy by opening land connections to deli. I know they have not announced a date yet for the implementation of the bridge but a lot of materials will be needed for this project as well as high skills diggers. Please give me some constructive feedback about the project and wheter you think its worth it or not.
  6. After a long talk in our freedom chat. I'm posting here about a new community project. We heard a lot about that kind of stuff, there were many tries... but here you are, directly out of the deed planner : Deliverance Stadium ! You can visit the stadium with the deed planner here : http://pastebin.com/d6gbdq0s How do I see the project : Due to the access tunnel to get inside the arena from both gold mine doors we will need a really close rock layer, that can be achieved with both terraforming and raising the rock with concrete. The project needs as well lots of mats, 13k bricks and mortar at least for the walls, 366 marble slabs and so on, it's a crazy huge project the complex alone is 15x28 on 4 storey high. It can be done by a single man, but will be way better to be conduct by the whole community. I would like to see that stadium and the buildings around on a deed with enough perimeter for people to have some hunting ground around and see the stadium from a wider area. As well, if the deed can have a public trader to pay for the upkeep it would be a must have. Templars are obviously a no-go, how will you do some PvE if the templars are helping you. Guards tower can be helpful though to the visitors. I would have first your insights on where we can plan that project, would you like to help, what kind of event would you like to see. Project worksite / Where to find us. Edit : Fixed typo / poll Edit2 : Removed poll - no longuer needed - results can be seen here :
  7. Getting Bored of Your Settlement? Looking for new project's & ideas? Enjoy a challenge? Look no further! After Playing Wurm for a few years, owning and living on numerous deed's and residing on few different server's, I have experienced a lot of things in this wide and wonderful world. For the past few months, I have been playing mostly solo on a small deed, one that's development has finished long ago and this has left me searching for a new challenge. The Idea! An Idea I have been kicking around for sometime is to assemble a group of like minded players, And break off into the vast unknown to start a new project. One that is a challenge, requiring planning, commitment, dedication, and an Overall sense of community! A place to hone skills our skills, both in the creation aspect as well as a crafting haven providing most everything we shall need as we develop. Of Course, this is merely in the planning stages, So any opinion's and idea's from players interested will be compiled, until we can strike on something that everyone is thrilled to work towards. Idea's may include anything from a magnificent deed to a central market, our personal island or mountain retreat, and anything else one's mind can come up with! As for location, I would prefer to keep it located on the old freedom cluster, any server as long as we agree upon it, but If we can stay away from Exodus I would be thrilled. Nothing against that server except the fact in my experiences, there is no dirt layer which makes it more challenging to work with than it need's to be. Also Chao's if it is something we are comfortable with but that requires the trust of a tight knit group, and fair amount of planning and communication between an existing faction. The People! Anyone is welcome, New players or more seasoned veteran's! Premium is not an issue, bit I do request a little bit of in game time to be sure that this idea Is right for you. The ability to work with others is a must, and some sort of voice communication program would be ideal. So please, reply on this thread, send me a PM, or hunt me down in game if this idea appeals to you! What One Person Considers Impossible, a Group Can Accomplish Within a Shortened Time Frame. When One Mind is Stalled, The Power Of Collective Thought Can Prevail. As a Group, You Can Move Mountains, And Who Knows, We may Just Do That
  8. Looking to maybe start a large community project, that is of course if the community wants to be part of the project. For no other reason than fascination and the desire to accomplish daunting tasks; I would like to create a very large wall made from dirt. The wall would be 600 dirts high, going up in increments of 200 dirt per tile for 3 tiles (200, 400, 600 with all slopes being at 200 value). The top of the wall could be 1 or 2 tiles wide depending on how much work is desired to be put into the wall (and if a highway road is destined to line the top of the wall). We could also add small castles or even villages along the wall at various points with pallisade gates to make way for passage between the slopes of the wall. Of course the project would take a lot of effort and would span many many months worth of work, but in the end it would be pretty amazing to see the community design such a true "colossus" of nature. If you have any ideas for names for the wall feel free to comment and give suggestions! If you'd like to help on this project comment here or message me in game: Slickshot. All help is voluntary. This isn't a paid project, only a massive feat to be conquered. Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

  10. Hello! I am recruiting for my current settlement Elwynn Forest, and am looking for players, new and old, to join me in having a good time. Goals: My primary goal in this village is to promote a fun and active community on celebration. I want to help new players learn the game, and give older players a place where they can spend time with others while playing. Details: We are a 25x32 sized settlement with room for expansion. Just a 3-5 minute walk from Amish Paradise Market & Port All the necessities a new player will need, including a large pine forest, An on-deed mine with Iron & lead, food & water, farms, animal space, and of course their own personal space. Looking for possibly 5 players at the moment. Album: Full album here
  11. Skulltooth Cove (X20 Y48) is a small community with two very active and dedicated members, YukiAkari and me (LordByte). (All are on GMT +1) We are looking for other dedicated members that can fill in the tasks left empty by their predecessors (or take over some of the multitude of tasks that are still open and filled by us by necessity). We're looking for players that have already proven, or are certain that they want to stick with the game, but we place no stock on skill values or age alone. Most important is that there's a match, that you fit in (we're not elitist ogres, if you're nice to be around you'll fit in ) [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIc2Y-KzEGc Our philosophy You do what you like, in between you try to fill in the open tasks to help out with the others. If you're the primary (highest skill) you're expected to fill in a bit more, and if you're not: anything that gives skill to the primary is expected to be left to them. Again the most important part is that there's no pressure, we're here for fun foremost. Everything in the village is shared, and we expect it to stay that way, the locks are on the outside of the wall, so that our members can be free to do what they want and have the right tools to do it. We talk and we try to cooperate to make our village work and look nice! We're usually on Teamspeak and have a lot of very active players in other games, we expect mature behaviour, but we won't stick an age on it (though most of us are around 30). A microphone is expected and at least a little command of the English language. (Clarification: Our entire gaming community has been active on voice-communication in some form or another since 1998! We're used to it and have noticed that when there are others who aren't they tend to split off rapidly because it's much harder to make a bond between two sides using different communications). Our history We started out in december, a couple of friends had after much pushing by me started playing this instead of some other sandbox, so I had to get in fast... This is our story: We set out on a lone winternight, the four of us. Modzo and Creuss had already set out before but the wilds had taken them, luckily the spirits had pulled them back to Sloping sands. They were working hard when I walked through the portal. Shaping clay pots for water and preparing some basic tools. When Gazef arrived we set out, the plan was to travel northeast, there were untilled lands in the northeast, near an enormous lake that would supply us with fish, and possibly a new ship for our crew. The map was a rough drawing and wholly inaccurate as we found out. And the trek was harsh, and filled with dangers... Many times did we have to run back down from the hills we climbed, because giant spiders and mountain lions would attack us as we crested it. Then Creuss would bandage our wounds, but as supplies were running out we had to forage for more healing herbs and berries to keep us going. Wounds started to fester and we were losing hope when we finally got out of the wilds and the lands opened up to reveal a wide stretch of tundra... and WATER! Beautiful shining lakes in the distance, but many creatures blocked our path. We were running low on water and our wounds were bad so a fight was out of the question. "If we reach the water they will leave us alone." said Creuss. "We will never reach it, too many are in the way and the distance is too great to do in one run with our wounds" said another. But a plan was made and we would, attack a mountain lion and rat on our path, that would give us enough of a break to get to the water. We fought the creatures and luckily didn't take too much damage, allowing us to escape to the waters, chased by a multitude of spiders and hellhounds, but we made it! Now we started looking for a place. We found a seemingly abandoned iron mine, and made it our home! We were beautifully situated near a nice pond that supplied us with fish, in a dale between two large hills, with access to the southern lakelands, and the northern great lake. The mine was apparently from a neighbour a bit further on that we hadn't met in our first few days, but he allowed us to stay if we allowed him access, which we did. We toiled hard, and built many great buildings, the most fantastic one was a large stone inn, but the disadvantages were soon apparent, the beautiful forest I was planting with all the trees our area lacked, were ransacked often by others. Often without regard for their age. As more and more settled nearby our lack of settling rights was becoming an issue too. I traveled many times to Sloping Sands as I had found a hidden pathway that was safe to be used, and would get us past the many creatures safely, oftentimes for recruits of our old crew that had walked through the portal as we did, as we regaled them with tales of those wonderful lands, but the need for new lands and the wanderlust was great! One day Modzo finished a rowing boat and we set out to discover new lands, a new map had been created and we had spotted a very nice area in the far south. So we set out and pulled the mighty oars and sailed for days... We reached the area, we now call Skulltooth Cove safely and noticed while many parts were occupied, the most promising part (after a very steep climb) wasn't. We travelled back, picked up all that we would need to build a new and better village, bought a deed, and set out! I traveled for days bringing supplies and people over, and in a record time we settled the area, built a great wall that would keep our lands safe, and our forests pristine and an enormous mine-shaft was built towards the sea so we could enter our lands safely and easily! Many have left us for other strange lands, but me and YukiAkari still toil away, wishing for other to join us to keep Skulltooth Cove alive. And we still have to kill a dragon! What can we provide? We provide large tracts of deeded lands, on which you can build (or just use the beds in the hostel), all the materials you could want and need (all types of wood, massive quantities of plants, iron, copper, incredible amounts of zinc, marble, gold, silver, lead,...). Ships to travel to faraway lands, high quality tools (50+) and weaponry... Everything is walled and safe, and we can ship your items and goods (and yourself and any alts) to our lands. What are we looking for? We have a shipbuilder, farmer, blacksmith (YukiAkari) and woodcutter (me) (and both are skilled masons and carpenters and miners), all other jobs are open if you're up for them, but we're not specifically looking, just more people to enjoy the game with. Armoursmith, leatherworker, Alchemist (zinc into White paint anyone?), tailor.... would be nice to have though! How to contact us? If you're interested or have any questions, message LordByte on release, in this topic, or with the PM button.
  12. Hello Wurm Community, I was wondering if people would like to have 5 euro for 1 month and 1 euro for 1 silver wouldn't that be nice? ---> Just make the payments less so there will be more buyers, without profit losses. This website says that it is possible: />https://www.paypal.com/gb/webapps/mpp/micropayments

  16. Ah the fun part, naming stuff. As with previous maps there are a few ground rules. Most importantly however, is to remember that the names on the map are simply the names on the map; you may call your island/mountain/bay whatever the hell you like. I do recognise that a map name tends to stick, which is why I have the ground rules. So; This thread is for naming the listed bodies of water only. Islanders should be consulted for the islands, hence we are not voting on those here. Naming features after deeds or alliances is not accepted. Arguments over names by residents for any feature will likely negate any names suggested. I will not be changing the names of things just because new people move in and want it changed. I will not consider or accept any suggestions that contain 'Oak', 'Birch', 'Pine' or any tree type. Preferably, we will avoid naming things after spiders or other unoriginal claptrap. Decisions are final. Further complaining won't do you any favours. I'm not nice, so don't make that mistake. I will take suggestions here for the next two weeks, judging winners by popularity here and by asking kchat at various occasions. If you haven't participated you have no right to complain about not having a say. Suggestions so far; #1: Needle Point Lake; Fang Point Lake; Heart Lake; Corda Mare (Sea of Hearts); Crab Claw Lake; Moon Lake [uNNAMED] #2: Left Turn Lake; Tailfin Tarn; Northwall Lake; Black Dog Lake; Sharkfin Lake; Lake Pythagoras [NAMED] #3: Spawn Lake [NAMED] #4:Hand Lake; Fingers Lake; Key Lake; Rorshach Lake; Amoeba Lake; Smog Lake [NAMED] #5: Fiordland Bay; Southern Fjords; Erosion Inlet; Erosion Fjords [NAMED] #6: Southwind Harbour [NAMED] #7: Anaconda Anchorage; Slipknot Bay; Poseidon's Birth [uNAMED] #8: Bag Lake; Bay of Aegis; Bulwark Bay; Warden Bay; Bigfoot Bay [NAMED] And now, the locations; The NE Lake The huge lake in the north The lake just south of SS The long western lake The south-western inlet The other south-western inlet The massive southern coastal bay The large sea-linked lake of the east

  20. I was thinking about priests on independence today and noticed that black dog sermons aren't really that central, So I thought maybe the community of this server might want to get together and build a 'Central Sermon Centre', The sermons would be held as often as possible and the priests attending could then discuss who was to hold the next sermon. (I would appreciate any feedback or advice on this matter Facilities would include Beds Animal pens Ovens Altars of each deity Farms Forges Mine If you could find anything else to add please PM me (shads) If any player is interested in helping out or thinks this is a good idea, please comment below
  21. A few weeks ago I saw a travel documentary showcasing a horse race through the streets of some European city. The streets were quite narrow, and lined with thousands of cheering fans on both sides. This left only a small path for the riders to navigate their speeding horses! And the track was dirt or sawdust, and curved bent and twisted around a very few small city blocks. Everyone looked extremely excited and engaged - and the riders were really worked over when the event was done. There was even a huge wreck with horses and men falling to the ground and piling up on one another ... spectacular! What does the community think about establishing some form of horse racing across the islands of Wurm? />http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horse_racing There are of course the modern forms of horse racing that could be matched - - but - - it might also be very interesting to put a medieval or Wurm'ian twist on the sport! It is, after all, a different World!
  22. Multistory collective skill pooling for construction This idea is more of conceptual or brain storming. We don't know the limitation yet. I want to see big buildings and hope this might help justify their creation. The main idea is that multiple people can pool their skill into one common pool to plan and build bigger buildings. I'm not sure if planning contributors (not the house owner) should have to endure a cool down. If a character's skills can only applied towards one under-construction building it could unfairly tie up a contributor. This would be similar to how it currently works. One issue is that a player could employ others and the employer might not finished the house limiting the other players ability to make more plans. Here are some solution. --A hard core extreme version would be to delete the building, free the contributors, and destroy any added materials if it isn't finished within some reasonable time frame. I not a fan of this at all. --Condemn the building, release all house planners, let the owner recover some of the building materials before destroying it. --A no penalty option might be whichever of the follow two happens first. The building is finished or a cool down period has passed. I can only think of one reason to limit who can build the walls once its plan. If we want to limit or slow down the construction of multistory it could be achieved by only letting characters of equal skill to the planners do the building. An even slower progress would just consist of the planners. I don't like the idea of limiting it, its here none the less.
  23. Black Lighter PMK Hello, people of Wurm. My community and I have played this game for about 2 weeks and ever since we have fell in love with everything we have come across. We like to address ourselves as a multi-purpose community, based off of PVP, PVE, Casual, and Hardcore players. We have played through a bit of the aspects of the game, but altogether have a lust for PVP. However, we wish to become our own Player-Made-Kingdom because we have a passionate desire to fight for ourselves and friends. We have made many friends throughout Wurm, people from all kingdoms. We have seen the good side, and the bad side of each kingdom. But due to recent events we are now known as Black-Lighters, which are people that everyone else exaggerates about. The Black-Lighters are actually a kind, welcoming, blood-thirsty community which suits our needs. We are in love with the Black Light, the constant PVP, the vast array of mobs that surround us, everything. That is why we would like to start this discussion on why the Black-Lighters should be able to make Player-Made-Kingdoms. My reasons are listed below: Horde of the Summoned is a heavy PVP kingdom that should be allowed to expand It would bring a lot of the exiled out of the darkness to rise up and join a community they are welcomed in It would attract more of the hardcore PVPers to the Black Light without restriction Popularize the game for people who are new to the Black-Lighters and accidentally turn Make PVP in the Epic servers more intense Give kingdoms a new awesome template to use while in creation These are some reasons why I believe we should be able to make a PMK through the Black Light. I will continue to play Wurm with my community for an extremely long time, we will make a PMK only when this becomes a possibility. In that time we ask that you all support our cause to ensure that we can make this happen when the time comes. We plan to begin recruitment for our community shortly, we only hope you are all there to see it succeed. We will love you now and forever, Wurm. Tired of seeing tree farms around every corner? Let's do something about it. Feel free to toss out your ideas about where, and when, We'll get a feel for whats best for everyone and go from there. Contests, prizes, fun and games with your community. Oh yeah, and start saving your sprouts now, several thousand last time and we ran out a few times during the process.
