  1. There has been much ado in tech news lately in regards to OpenAI and ChatGPT. In gaming tech this has been considered a way of making NPCs more interactive or "real" in interactions. As one such example, see this built-from-scratch, voice-interactive AI companion mod for Skyrim. Granted Wurm Online by design is very light on NPCs; however, we do have a handful of such. Let alone guards, humanoid monsters, and the Halloween talking skeleton statue. Atm the few that say anything in local use a randomized list of preset phrases. It would be interesting if they were all given more liberty in their interactions. Some of the mob summons alone could be spiced up this way. Imagine summoning a horde of wisecracking skeletons. Granted summons and pets in general need quite a bit of an overhaul in general. Summon skeletons in particular is practically worthless. Course Im sure theres other ways AI-generated content could be implemented in Wurm. Not to mention implementing a "cutting edge" gaming tech. Certainly would be the kind of stuff to rave about in press releases... alongside Wurm VR. 🥰
  2. It's been 20 years or so since first emoji's and and better late than never. Can we please have Emoji's in chat. Also the option to color text with like CSS, BB code, or something similar. Bring Wurm chat to the 2020's level of tech. . (even if it was strictly PM's, alliance, or village locked)

Hi, I attempted to move all my Tabs into the Event Tab Section so I could have 1 Area on the HUD with text boxes and when I did i noticed that when you speak in any of the chats it doesn't show any words in those chats. - I then tested with local because it shows text above your head naturally and the same thing happened, only this time the text did show above the head, just not in the Local Chat Tab. - Also when this was done, I was not able to open a Private Message with anyone. Even right clicking Friends List > Open Chat did not open the chat anywhere. Event tab is NOT able to be moved into other Tabs, but moving tabs into event tab causes this ^ - Devorn
  4. Probably someone has noticed that I spend time in Non-English Help, offering English/Spanish/Basic Portuguese translation. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world and in my personal estimate, the 2nd most abundant language in games in general, forming large communities nder the moniker of "Hispanic". That said, the channel, intended as a multi-language CA help is slowly degenerating itself into a all-language Global chat, with mostly Spanish speakers coming together and talking about topics not related to asking for help. This is in large part due to the excitement of finding other speakers of the same language. In addition, not having another place to interact with others, as well as the fact that culturally, few Latin Americans (which holds the large majority of native Spanish speakers) can speak or understand English makes the channel a natural place for chitchat. All things considered, I believe Spanish global chat is direly needed, and I personally see it as something that will benefit the whole community. I believe Portuguese speakers would benefit from a channel since it is also an abundant community, and despite not being fully versed on the topic I would like to take the chance to speak on their behalf. It's a smaller community with more average knowledge of English, should be noted. I propose as well to enforce moderation in currently existing Non-English help to become essentially an all-language version of the English-Only CA help. I would like to offer myself as a possible moderator candidate; I did not proposed myself initially out of humility, but because I don't want to sound like "we need more resources (people) and we are already short" I state my volunteering.
  5. I have invited two people into my preexisting alliance. The first time I invited a person once they accepted both mine and their alliance chats showed only us. Both of our maps had no alliance annotations. We both logged. It solved the alliance chat but not the annotations. After a second re-log everything was fine. The second person I invited the same thing happened to them and I only lost annotations. I re-logged and was fine. They however rel-logged twice before seeing annotations.   6. Please would it be possible to toggle off the pulsing glow on the chat tabs? GL_Freedom for example pulses away all the time and is quite distracting. It is useful for private PM's but it would be nice to be able to switch off some of these tabs individually such as CA_Help, and GL_Freedom. Thanks for listening.
  7. Hello, Wurm Online team! I write it message behalf of a Russian language community. I want to thank you for creating Russian help channel on chat. But we faced a problem. Many members of Russian community want to communicate on distracted topics that are not related to the Wurm in game chat. But we are bound by the limitations of chat rules - "Only help and looking for group". Given the above, could you consider the chat mode and allow discussion of topics not directly related to the game in the indicated channel? We hope for understanding.   8. Hello, all. I have tried playing Wurm Online from Steam and normal download. I'm on Linux Mint 64-bit, and everything is going fine, except that I can't chat. In the chat bar, I can only TYPE, backspace/enter don't work, just space does. IDK what to do, please help.
  9. Add emoji to in-game chat to enhance and liven the in-game communications. 😜 I hear some of you grumbling already... "Don't mess with my nice neat wall of text". LOL I am well past half a century on this earth and maybe use only 3-4 emojis, however my kids(young adults), use emojis all the time. I see them on social media, on games, interacting with their coworkers using emojis to communicate feelings and ideas. If the game and interface is to progress it would be good to consider in-game usage of emojis. I can't speak for the technical difficulties of coding for WURM, but I can say it is not too hard coding a C# lookup function of a Unicode table and should not be too much effort. (https://www.unicode.org/emoji/charts/emoji-list.html) Any more emoji ideas? - Perhaps create or assign symbols for specific Channels? Example in the Trade channel: WTS, PC, WTB symbols or perhaps add them to the text color setting options? The Trade channel could auto-convert "WTS " to a unicode symbol or colorize it based on the user's preference.

One of the staples of a MMO to me is chat also appearing overhead on a local player/character talking to you, I find this feature should really be in Wurm of all games, Lots of MMORPGs have/had it and I see no reason to lack the option to toggle such a thing. It really draws you in to look at the person talking to you vs just looking down at chat. It may seem simple but I assure you it is a powerful tool in the art of game immersion. This feature would be a good addition to the UI changes that are being looked into. Ability to toggle it and it would not in anyway change the normal chat windows, this would be a second option that can be enabled/disabled and font size change along with being able to set the fade timer on the bubbles and their transparency along with font color.

Setup instructions: Install mod following instructions of Ago's Client Mod Launcher How to use: In the game console type "filter" to get the usage description. Example: "filter add :Event You create" will filter out any messages in Event tab containing "You create" Note: don't forget to add a colon at the beginning of "Event" when you add new filter

Hi All, So I've played on a few servers which have a chat channel called "Info" which contains useful information for new players to the server i.e. map url, places of interest, mods installed etc. I'd love to incorporate this into my server, does someone have a mod for this they could kindly share?   13. Pretty simple. When you need to say something to a player that is offline and don't have time or ability to do the papyrus/mail system - maybe you are out in the wilds and nowhere near a mail box. Simply put, everything you type into a chat PM to an offline player, with be saved and displayed for that player when they next log in. ***While you were away*** Hey buddy, I finished imping the plate for you and put it in your armor stand. ***End message***
  14. There are a ton of upgrades to chat I'd love to see, but this is just a little baby step. Won't make a huge difference, but every new player that starts the game is usually confused by the chat channel naming. Would it be hard to rename the Freedom to whichever server we are actually on? If crossing servers, just create a chat entry, saying "welcome to "x" server!", so people can see what server the chat was coming from.

  16. Back in the day we had proximity voice comms. Some people hated it, some people loved it. As I understand it the system was a bit wonky and so it was removed. That was about 6 years ago. Would be cool to see it resurrected and brought back even better than before. Perhaps make a way to mute specific players the same way we /ignore their chat messages. Just an idea. What do YOU think?
  17. Hey! My husband and I are wondering if there's a way to increase the amount of text you can enter in on one go, in the text box. As it stands currently, it is very limited (Maybe enough for one vaguely descriptive sentence) and the breaks can cause for some chat confusion. Additionally, me and my S.O. are avid role-players and would enjoy having the ability to use Wurm as a font for creative writing. Is there any way to manage a script that can extend the chat by any large amount? Or does an option exist already? I have been searching for it thoroughly but have come up with no results, thus far.
  18. So, how about a "global" chat channel for all of the Wurm Unlimited games? So those of us that play solo, or on very low population severs can still have people to talk to, ask questions, maybe swap servers, etc.

  22. Dont know if this has been done, but couldnt find it so... I would like to see a way to pull the chat areas (local, trade, ect) to a separate window/screen. I run multiple screens, as a lot of people do these days, so i would like a way to pull these sections into a different screen. would even like to pull the sections apart into separate windows, say a 3x2, or even a 4x3 grid with a chat section in each window. Possible to do?
  23. Looking for a mod to simply show a list of all players within the local area (just like the local chat window does). My server communicates mostly on global and other channels and I would like to know when people move in/out of local instead of having to switch back to Local tab every time. Thanks!

My suggestion is to link chaos trade channel whether that be MR, BL, JK, or Player Made Kingdom trade channels to the main Freedom trade channel to better promote a cross server economy of goods that come from Chaos. The reason for this suggestion, Is that Chaos is still one part of the Freedom cluster, and being PVP or Not, should share the same level of commerce as the rest of the servers in the cluster.   25. WTB - Chat Mod

    There are a few different routes (and extra features) I can think of for this mod, but the basics we would like to achieve is: (For Epic / Home Server / PvE) - Adding the "GM" tab logging feature to the Trade channel - so that all players can see a logged / moderated Trade 'board' - Adding a "Realm" tab enabling full-server wide chat. I'll put a bounty on this for the next 30 days.
