Wouldn't it be great if the high ceilings in caves could be lit with some floodlights? - the entire space could be lit up with beams of light falling from above. Perhaps some spotlights that hang from the cave ceilings and walls to give that underground 'stadium' effect. It would be good to have some more lighting options to show off these huge underground spaces - even the ability to hang coloured lights on ceilings and underwater, and to hang torches on high cave walls would be wonderful! We need a medieval/fantasy light system, rather than modern LEDs though! Please add your ideas!

Different ceiling finishes are a popular request. I understand that developing different ceiling models would take some time, however we almost have a solution already... Carpets. If a small change was made to carpets, we could align them, not just with floors and walls, but above our heads as decorative ceilings. If they were positioned just below the cave ceiling, or the wooden beams of the floor above they could look really impressive - and be dyable in a range of different colours and designs. If we could also have some small round mats - like carpets (only circular), we might be able to ornament our ceilings with plasterwork roses such as this:

This is not a new request. It has been requested so many times that I think that these requests should be brought together in a thread to show the depth of feeling on the subject. Please let us add concrete to a mine ceiling to lower the ceiling. If we can mine a ceiling higher without changing the floor (using pickaxe), then is should be possible to do the opposite - lower the ceiling without changing the floor (using concrete). A minimum height could be agreed (say 33 dirt) and a check would need to be made for mine entrances, bridges and multi-storey underground buildings which could be affected. Just this evening another newer player asked in CA Help if the mine ceiling could be lowered using concrete - intuitively it should be possible, and useful, and that's why folk keep asking. If it is not possible by reasons of deliberate design, then the reasons for this should perhaps be made clearer. Thank you!

This is more or less the same thing as floors but built facing down instead of up so it covers up the awkward space between the roof and the walls inside of houses. (alternatively you can make a ceiling roof that would be the same as a plain roof but it just has the ceiling built in when you install it.
