  1. Gelding

Its come up before off and on, so nothing I can take credit for. Snip snip. Basically it enables one to sell traited male horses without having to worry about the buyer using the horses to breed his or her own. EDIT: Not to mention makes them a little more docile around other horses, assuming such is even a factor. Not to mention a vital ingredient in certain recipes, depending on animal breeds.
  2. So currently there is no reason to breed sheep and cows, unless you are in a corner of some remote area where these animals never spawn. My idea is this, since the current animal traits add nothing other than maybe extra life to cows or sheep, there should be a new category for these animals. Traits specific to the farm type animal, which currently would be pigs, sheep and cows. New traits can lead up to a better animal that could produce better ql and quantity of milk and wool and if butchered better meat and other assorted parts. (these are just a few things that come to mind, but I am sure there could be enough various traits that could make it worthwhile to breed 5 or more traits into the farm animals) If a breeder has high enough skill enough of these traits would be present that you would have a chance at winning the blue ribbon at the fair and a new market for selling farm animals with better traits. Another trait I was thinking about would lead to animals breeding more true to the parents traits, this would work for horses as well.

  5. Hello Wurmians, new and old! Rather than let it crash, I would like to sell my VERY well equipped deed on Release, Crazy Eights. If you are looking for a prime location, look no further. If you are into breeding, you just might want to pick this up. All breeding stock are purebred 5-speeds. No non-speed traits. This is perfect for someone with Animal Husbandry of 50-59. Horses are all of the new colors. All the mares are bred, so the new owner can expect many new 5-speed foals. Of course the house is stocked with plenty of resources. The mine has silver, lead, iron, and tons of marble. Mine Map available with purchase. Tar Nearby Clay available North, up the coast. 97 Courier on Mailbox PRIME hunting just to the East Plenty of on and off-deed farming space Undeeded Dock area, or with the fall of neighboring deed, you can expand to the coast. (I know the mayor) Seeking 30s or best offer. Thanks for looking! - Malokai
  6. I'm on Exodus and I'm looking for a number of rare animals - champions, the 12 days of Christmas funny named ones, etc. I'm sure other people must also be looking. For some reason, on this server a bunch of the Christmas animals were slaughtered as they spawned. I'm hoping that people on other servers may still have the ones I'm looking for. I know taking animals between servers isn't currently possible, but with enough pressure from players we must be able to get it into the coding eventually. My idea is that anyone looking for animals finds someone either on another server or their server who has what they want and they arrange a trade, or a sale if they don't have the desired trading animal. If it's across servers the trade will obviously need to wait until the change is made so animals can be taken across servers. Here's what I have to trade: Butter (dog) Champion Purrty Dancing Paw (cat) Napoleon (unicorn) Aquaphobic swans (bison) Great horned goose (deer) Piper (hell scorpious, but collection only, I can't dominate it) Champion black bears (male and female) Champion wolves (male and female) Champion brown bears (male and female) Black sheep and rams Champion large rats (male and female) Champion deer (male and female) Champion scorpions (male and female) Champion crocodiles (male and female) Champion goblins (male and female) Champion wild cats (male and female) Champion unicorns (male and female) Coming soon: 5 speed horses, hell horses, cows and bison Here's what I'm looking for: Female champion dog Female champion troll Female tortoise Any female dogs with other conditions such as slow, hardened, etc. Any female deer with other conditions such as slow, hardened, etc. French (hen) Golden ring (ram) If anyone is interested in trading or just getting some extra silver, there should still be Christmas animals on other servers that can be found, just some of them are extinct here on Exodus already. Hopefully just a quick search of the spawning area will find some like I found the ones I have Let me know!
  7. I've been trying to find someone on Exodus with female champion dogs who is willing to breed one for me, but no luck so far. I was wondering if anyone has any on other servers? I'm trying to decide if my time will be better spent combing every deed on Exodus or bugging the gms to change the programming so animals can cross servers. If anyone has, let me know!
  8. I want to breed sea creatures, but the wiki doesn't seem to have that much information on them. I'm particularly interested in octopi and dolphins. The wiki says they can't be tamed, but can they be dominated? I also need advice on penning them. I've got a seaside deed ready, but will it hurt them if I build the pens on the land? They are water creatures, I'm not sure if they'll survive on land. Should I rather build pens in shallow water for them? And do different servers all have the same width? So like since Chaos has a large land mass, would that mean that Exodus which has a smaller land mass would have a much wider sea area? Or are they all just random sizes?
  9. Two lovely 5 speed foals called Southdance and Northcall, male and female. These two are unrelated and would make a great pair for your cart! They're both brown and have all 5 speed traits. Southdance will also fight fiercely if required. Located in Hindleap, just east of Summerholt. They can be delivered as far as Greymead or similar distance. 1s for them both.
  10. A while back, butterflygirl25 started a thread about new horse colors and as many of you may remember, I chimed in with some suggestions. Well I'm happy to say that I've been having some chats and there is a teensy weensy eensy possibility that we might get one or two new horse colors at some point. I've asked if it's ok to set up this poll to get an idea of what new colors folks would like to see in the game and got the OK. So check 'em out and vote for your favorite! If you could only get one, what would it be? Disclaimer: Most likely there would be no time for making any special code for the behavior of any possible new colors, so the second question about breeding and spawning behavior is only out of my personal curiousity. So don't go gettin' yerselves all werked up! *grins*
  11. for PvE: So, I gather there really isn't much if any interest in horses with 5s + 1-3 other potentially beneficial traits, over a pure 5s horse? If so, isn't it time to think about creating more benefits for those that continue to skill up AH past 50? What are some interesting ideas we could offer the Devs for improving the value of high AH? (insert your ideas here)
  12. Was wondering if there was a GM command to change the name of bred horses? I see that someone made a mod, but i don't really want to use if i don't need to. Thanks for having a look at this.
  13. My deed is called The Rim of Heaven, and is located on Xanadu in the middle of G-25 I am not offering delivery at this time as I am SUPER directionally challenged (unless you live close by and there is an easy route to you. In which case, be prepared to give me detailed directions, lol.) PM DannysGirl in game or reply to this forum post. Thanks! Here are the foals I have for sale, will update as more are born. Also, 5 speed horses, hell horses and unicorns coming soon! Males: Adolescent Mastercloud, Gold 4 speed, 40 copper [13:46:31] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has a strong body. 14. My frustration has reached a peak. Something is not right with animals and how they graze and put on the fat layer they need to survive without packing the tile(s) they live on. This isn't my first rodeo and I am used to an animal requiring 2-3 days to get its fat tag before I move them away from the mother. New foals 2+ real life weeks old still do not have their fat tags while standing in Enchanted Grass. Found animals in the wild (in this case sheep) are still not showing fat tags after 3 RL weeks on Enchanted Grass or regular grass/crop tiles. A Venerable dog that has been fed 4 times its weight in food over a week still has a "Normal" build. Is a wasting disease set lose on my deed or are we having code issues with animals again?
  15. This is not about un-nerfing the difficulty ratings on stuff. This is not about quicker exp or stuff staying tame longer. Those things are off-topic to say the least. This thread has been tagged "PvE", meaning it's for PvE, if PvP'ers want it too feel free to share ideas, if not keep the derails, trolls, and "-1" out unless you also PvE. How this will affect PvP is inconsequent, it's not intended as a suggestion for PvP. And don't even start with the "if you want things easier" bull%@#$, I have the levels and endless hours of grind to discuss taming thank you very much. That said: The two biggest problems with taming at the moment are breeding the creatures, then weaning them. Currently, the best way to breed two aggros is have an alt standing there getting chewed on while the tame one "does the deed". I'm sure a few things wrong with that can be discussed, but this is a family forums eh. Then when the pup is born, you tame it, and can't lead in combat so tricky as hell to take it away from the mother before one of them winds up dead. Simple suggestion: After 50 taming, add the ability to tame a second one with max loyalty being split among the two animals. Meaning with my 70 taming, I could tame a hell hound to 70 loyalty points, but second I tame a second one, neither will be able to be tamed past 35. Apart from breeding/weaning making more sense, a pair of wolves make great house pets Also, hell horse owners could finally hitch them to their carts without having to worry about rogue templars. On a side note: Why not add a "roam" order to pets, so they can be tame and roam normally if allowed. Once again, wolves as house pets ftw.
  16. It would be great to be able to name our own horses, but i know some people would want to use names not allowed so why not give people a choice of what to name a new born foal. The could choose between 5 names or perhaps 5 different first names and 5 different last names. It would be nice to have some kind of choice in this.
  17. I've noticed that animals no longer seem to be grazing correctly or needing to feed anymore. The pair of pigs I own didn't die recently despite not having any food for a over week. Nor did they even lose their 'fat' title from the name. Which anyone who's ever kept pigs will know is extremely unusual. It seems to be causing issues with breeding also. Here are the even logs for one of my breeding pairs : [2014-07-16] [21:40:45] The Aged fat Huntingbenita doesn't seem to be in the mood right now. [2014-07-17] [21:46:33] The Aged fat Huntingbenita doesn't seem to be in the mood right now. [2014-07-18] [20:53:23] The Aged fat Huntingbenita doesn't seem to be in the mood right now. [2014-07-19] [07:43:29] The Aged fat Huntingbenita doesn't seem to be in the mood right now. Horses normally only take around 24 hours to become 'in the mood' again after giving birth, but this horse hasn't been in the mood for over 3 days now. Apologies if this issue has been raised elsewhere, a forum search didn't bring up any similar results. Hopefully this will get fixed soon! 18. I propose the corrupt animal trait can be alternatively given to an animal when one of the parents is a zombie. Atm using a zombie animal is the same as using a wild-spawn version. None of the traits of the (previously living) version are passed on, and nothing special happens afaik from previous testing. Granted the last time I bothered was at least a year ago, as it really screws up the breeding. Offhand it shouldn't make things easier or imbalanced persay as its arguably easier to just use the current means of corrupting, blessing by a Libila priest. Simply an alternative method.
  19. I've been breeding a lot lately, and it has kind of caught my attention that it's always the same message: [16:17:14] The Aged fat horse shys away and interrupts the action. I was thinking that maybe there could be a different fail message, a more realistic one, saying that breeding was successful but pregnancy was not achieved, or something like that. I realize that that is a tiny little change, doesn't need much coding, and is totally unimportant, but it would be a nice little update for everyone out there who breeds a lot and continously has to read the same messages. I suggest this, and bother with it, because WurmOnline seems to attempt to take everything as realistic as possible, and the fail message compromises that. When breeding horses, it is common but doesn't happen whenever pregnancy isn't achieved, that the horse shys away. Due to that, I suggest that there should be these two different messages. Perhaps there could be different timeframes depending on which fail message you get. [animal] shys away and interrupts the action -> would therefore result in a certain amount of time, say one day, of the horse being uninterested in breeding The intimacy has not achieved pregnancy. -> would therefore result in a certain amount of time, say two days, of the horse being uninterested in breeding Don't know if many people would care about this but it certainly wouldn't hurt, would it? XD
  20. So I am going through the painstaking task of trying to breed champ trolls. Rough sketch up of the pens (inside a mine), the red tiles are the ones I collapse after dominating them and putting them on their one tile out of water (I want to leave the one tile of water so they cant naturally run away (which they don't) and I can feed them easier). I thought this was perfect and mined down the water section to maximum depth to reduce the chances of them slipping out somehow, then when I went down to check on one it just straight up waddled through the deep water to get to me... this should not happen as you cannot lead the troll through an inch of water in the first place... This only happens when aggroed, they do not wander through water normally. Fix please! Edit 1: It only aggros and chases through the water when i'm on land myself.
  21. Hey everyone, I have a deed that is 36 x 82 Northeast of Summerholt - Xanadu Server - (NE area of the map G23 area.) It has water on 3 sides, a nice dock area, a warehouse with dock. Main house / INN, an auction house, church, mine building (mine has 6 iron veins, one is UTMOST QUALITY) Cattle, bison, and horses, large farm area as well as a guard tower. Also has a spirithouse (99 cast) Here are some screenshots, pm me here or in game if you are interested. I am taking silent bids right now, (in game currency only please) but I have an idea what I am looking for as far as price goes. You are more than welcome to come by and have a look around any time. Thank you for looking!!
  22. I am just starting to breed unicorns an realize that unlike horses and hell horses, we have no individual names for bred unicorns... I would like this to be remedied.. as well as allowing them to wear armor and pull carts, they should be a high-end horse for higher level (or at least they that focus) to ride, and use, should be a little faster, etc. at least the better fight skill makes them good to hunt from. (as opposed to horses that can die so easy)
  23. Have a possible bug in breeding animals on Deliverance. I have two male champion dogs that were bred more than 8 hours earlier, have made sure they were full, but they still are unable to breed. Female counterparts are also full. Was told there was a similar bug on Xanadu, and it may have migrated to other servers. Can this be looked into pls?
  24. We need a way to stop your neighbour with 10 billion horses to take a horse crap on your game preformance, freedom or not freedom... breeding horses should not affect spawn rate of random animals either. (as in, a deed with 50 horses for breeding makes almost no animals spawn in a large area around it, ever... for neighbouring deeds this can be pure ######, especially for hunting. so i suggest something like this; As some limitations go, it has to be built inside a house on the common ground (so its not retarded with render distance, think a barn), it would come in 1 tile sizes that can hold 2 or maybe 3 animals. (be it cows, horses, whatever...) These animals would become part of the model. (so no animal cap count while inside, no "walking around" rendered, minimal animations, low rendering distances, no smoke particles for "hell" versions etc etc so its real effin smooth on both netcode as vis rendering and the animal itself wont prevent random wild animals to spawn in the wild around the deed) actions able on it might include; Hitch or mount or whatever (when leading an animal, puts the animal inside) Unhitch left, mid, right when appropriate Open (a small container to hold food, it would be eaten every tick that would balance out considering all the animals need food etc, think a troff) Maybe animals left inside these things for very long periods of time without grooming or walk time would get diseased? maybe the "troff" part of it would fill up with "filth" (poo) over time, if not cleaned animals become diseased or the troff cant feed them for very long times? it should be that you cant breed animals while they are inside, but you can take them out, breed and put the preggy animals back inside preggo animals poop their children next to the structure for them to run around freely (because where else will they go lol this isnt dwarf fortress, and they are in a house anyway)
  25. As the title states. I'm not sure if it should only work with parents that don't currently have traits. I wouldn't have a problem with permanently altering my animal(s) so it will produces traitless offspring for the rest of its life. This would include the negative traits that might be introduced from inbreeding.
