  6. Boat PVP is a big part of Wurm. Thus the sail position needs to change. If we can't see the enemy, how are we suppose to target it. Also spyglass becomes useless. Please adjust all sails on all boats so we can fully enjoy the full PVP experience, even as a passenger.
  7. Changing the owner of a boat or ship always bears the risk of losing your boat forever! Say you want to change the owner to "Rey", but you make a typo and enter "Red" - poof! You can't revert the change anymore, nor can player "Rey". Or you want to change the boat's name, but accidentally type the new name in the wrong field: (Happened before... many times ) So, adding an additional confirmation level (a pop-up saying "Do you really want to change the boat's owner to 'yyyy'?) would reduce this risk considerably.
  8. ---- ALL SHIPS SOLD --- Over the past years I came into a number of ships and boats, inherited from friends who left Wurm or moved away. SMALL SAILING BOAT, cedar, 31ql - (1s) SOLD 6.) SMALL SAILING BOAT, pine, 50ql - (1.20s) SOLD 7.) SMALL SAILING BOAT, olive, 30ql - (1s) SOLD 8.) ROWING BOAT, cedar, 30ql - (50c) SOLD All ships come with a mooring anchor, a lock and a key. 9. Would be nice to see new life put into the Rafts again made useful as/through Animal Barges. How many times have you seen a herd of animals or some Champion type that you are able to lead, tame, or subdue, but guess what...you were out boating and now the journey back can only be done through water. Have the Barge load up 1 animal initial and 1 extra per 10ql , mooring rope-it to your Sailboat or better(maybe limit size of ship to quantity of barges towed or total max creatures) and load that puppy up and be on your way. Even leave your ship with the barge still connected to your ship while you take a pits stop or picnic. Main idea is to have a means to get special animal (even unicorn or champs) and be able to bring them back more easily to a distant area or even the isolated Isle. Nothing special, just a means to ship creatures, (as crates are easier-access-relocatable/portable bsb's). Plus you can load the "barges" inside your ship as a raft would be. Just an idea.
  10. I have posted this idea in a few topics but i guess i will put it up as its own suggestion. I am suggesting that we be allowed to drag and drop crates to and from a cart/wagon to a boat and it triggers the load timer but transfers the crate over instead of making us unload only to have to load them again. Just think of it no more unload-disembark-embark (hope you put them in the right spot) then load them up. With the crate transfer you could just open your boats inventory drag and drop your crates and wait for the load timers to transfer them over then go back and get more. It is already in the game that you can drag and drop the crate but you get this error.. [07:19:25] You can only drop the large crate. I think this would take very little work to implement since most of this idea we can already do but it is blocked with the above message. I can't see anything game breaking about it and It would also open up the possibility to implement a new storage container that we can use to hold crates in a more organised manner using this same crate transfer suggestion to load them into that storage container. Edit: While they are working on permissions maybe the boat, wagon and cart can have a new load/unload setting added in that makes it easy to allow someone to load/unload making the idea work even better.

  12. WTB a boat that can cross servers. PM Mirrormatch if you have one for sale and we can work out the details. Must be able to deliver to BL on Chaos.
  13. I am not sure what the deal is but i can drive the boat as a solo captain and then with two extra passengers and the speed is the same. I had the other two players logged out but they were on the boat so i am not sure if they were counting since they were not online or not but when i logged them on to get ready for a server crossing they did not improve the speed any at all. (regular boat not rare..etc)
  14. Hey I have a Knarr that I do not know what happened to the key for it. I went to try and lockpick it with an 83QL lock...but my chances were at 1% and lowered with each attempt. I wondered if there was a way for me to put it up on a "salvage claim" and somehow get the lock removed through that by a GM. I figured maybe this wouldn't be an issue as I do have proper ownership to the boat, and the player I got it from is the one who lost the key. I have a lock to replace that one with..but I can't get it off. It is currently on my deed, and moored. I wouldn't mind paying the salvage fee if that is what it will take to get the lock removed so that I may replace it with the one I made (which has a key). I just would hate for the key to turn up elsewhere and off goes my boat. Can this be done or is lockpicking the only possible way and somehow I must get it up even though I play on a non pvp server? Thanks in advance. Name ingame: Xrosyx
  15. Sold

I've got a Knarr and you don't, so why don't you fix that by buying this one. Your neighbors are laughing at you behind your back because you keep trying to make deliveries in a Cog like some kind of poor. It's olivewood because those used to look pretty nice until it was decided boats should look bad. Its got a ~30ql anchor and a PvE ql lock just like every other boat you'll ever see. It will be 70ql by the time you buy it, so it'll outlast Wurm itself. It's named Stormbreaker at the moment because I hate naming things so if nothing else buy it so you can rename the poor thing. Here is how pricing works: You come to F20 on the Inde map and pick it up - 10sI deliver it to coastal (or damn near coastal, be reasonable) on Inde, western Xana, Deli, Cele, Exod - 11sYou want it delivered to an island in the NE corner of Pristine? We can talk but I'm probably going to charge by the hour, surely there's a shipwright on Pristine you should be talking to. Additionally, I have like 82 carpentry so I'm p good at making large crates. Let's call it 7.5c per crate? 20 crates would be 1.5s, if you want the full 43 crates I'll give you those last 3 for free, ergo 3s. Lastly, I'd prefer if you post in the thread instead of PMing me directly. Unless I know you or literally everyone knows you, I'd prefer there was some public documentation since obviously everyone would grind shipbuilding to 60+ so why would anyone ever need to trade a boat, those don't need writs or anything. Ok thanks for reading, let's get this done.
  16. You can not load a caravel with the crate visible to the captain when the crate is close to water level. How hard is it to extend the reach for load to 2-3 tiles instead of one? My only option now is to leave all my stuff or build some kind of ramp out of dirt. And no this is not a suggestion it is a mechanical problem with loading crates and needs fixed. While i am here i have a solution to this problem.. When you drag a crate from a cart to a boat it starts the load timer and transfers the crate over to the boat. Edit: For prospective here is a ss of the crate it is right next to the boat and right on the drivers slot and nothing. [23:55:46] You are too far away to do that.
  17. If you have made bridges over water, please post what height above water and what boats have sailed under. Also, what boats may have been blocked by it. Include the bridge type please. Should help folks with planning. Thank you!
  18. Sources: Wurmpedia lists ship sizes on the following page: http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Ship Boathouse concept I would like to build (see the spolier): http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/123372-bridge-screenshots/page-7#entry1271956 Outcome: Ability to park any ship inside a boathouse without any of its masts poking through the roof of the building. Otherwise, design the roof as bridges with spaces between them to act as roof trusses so that when a ship is parked, its largest mast sits in the open space between roof trusses. Issue: Based on the above, a Caravel is 7 long x 2 wide x 7 tall (measured in tiles). If 1 storey of a building is 32 dirts, then a Caravel is approximately 224 dirts high. Given that the boathouse concept in the link above is a 3 storey high building, it means that the Caravel's masts will poke through the bridge, i.e., roof of the building resulting in cosmetic ugliness for those who care. Option 1: One way to get around that could be to set up individual flat bridges with spaces between them, i.e., roof trusses. This way, you could park a Caravel so that its largest mast pokes up between two flat bridges, i.e., roof trusses. Each flat bridge can only be max. 3 tiles wide but building two of them to act as roof trusses with a 1 tile space between them means a boathouse can accommodate a 7-tile long ship such as a Caravel perfectly. Option 2: The other issue though is that a Caravel has 3 masts so even if you park it so that its largest mast sits between roof trusses, the other two masts may still poke through one of the flat bridges. Therefore, the next option would be to build the building high enough to accommodate the Caravel's other two masts without them poking through the roof trusses and still park the Caravel so its largest mast sits between roof trusses like in option 1 above. The downside is that you have to build a taller building resulting in the need for more materials. Option 3: The final option is creating a building(s), cliffs or land bridges that are high enough (approx. 7 storeys / 224 dirts) so that when you use a flat bridge as a roof, no masts will poke through. In this case, there would be no need for roof trusses as in Option 1 or Option 2. It's essentially the same as the original boathouse concept except the building, cliff or land bridge would have to be tall enough to accommodate the largest ship dimensions (length/width/height). The biggest disadvantage is the amount of extra materials required to build it. Also, the thickness of the bridge takes up space too so you would probably have to build 8 storeys high just to be safe and avoid any mast from poking through the underside of the flat bridge used as the roof. Option 4: Same as option 3 above except uses a combination of a building that is X storeys high and an arched bridge (with steepness up to 20) so that a 7-tile high ship such as a Caravel can be parked underneath without any of its masts poking through the arched bridge used as the roof. Questions: Since the new ship models are out, measure the following in tiles: - How long is the longest ship? - How tall is the tallest ship? - How wide is the widest ship? Bonus to also know this: - How tall is each mast on the Caravel? Who already has or is willing to measure this or are all of the ships the exact same dimensions regardless of the new models? In Closing: I realize that some people don't care about the cosmetics. Others may just opt not to build a roof at all but to me that defeats the purpose of building a boathouse that has a roof generally. I just think it would be ugly to park a boat inside a boathouse and have its mast(s) poking through the roof of the boathouse. This is the whole reason for this thread, to find the best option to avoid this issue and accommodate all ship types using a single design.
  19. Boat settings are not working when the boat is on deed for anyone but the owner of the boat. (deed was not mine - no permissions) I had an alts boat out before the last server shutdown and when the server was back up i could not use the boat. I had permissions with village and friends to drive the boat but was not able to do anything other then manage the boat. I logged on the boats owner and he could use the boat just fine and once the boat was off deed tiles my main was able to use the boat again so seems the boat being on deed tiles somehow messed it up. Note: All this was on an alts rowboat Edit: (update) Seems the boat is working fine on my own deed so it seems to be only on other peoples deeds..idk

  21. Please allow us to sleep on any boat larger than a Corbita Any of you who have travelled know that it is often breeze on the ocean. You also know that it takes a while to get to your destination sometimes. Even when u get to your destination there isnt always a bed waiting for you... These boats are huge and they surely would have a cabin to sleep in. We should have the ability to sleep in any of the large boats that would have a cabin. Thank you Edit: maybe it would best to give it to corbita, cog, caravel.. car doesnt really have sleeping quarters.(could sleep under a tarp on deck but still) Also that would give more value to the undervalued boats.
  22. I have a Knarr for sale, just needs the last peg attached of purchaser's wood choice. Will be improved to 60+ql and come with a 30+ql anchor and a lock/key (~20ql). Price is 11s delivered to Inde or coastal Xan/Deli. 10s if you pick it up from Colossus Lake.
  23. Hello, Today I would like to sell an Applewood Cog. [21:54:41] A sturdy one-masted merchant ship with a flat bottom. It is locked with a lock of poor quality. It is made from applewood. You must use a mallet on the "Hades' Disgrace" in order to improve it. Ql: 47.56082, Dam: 0.0. It is moored here. The name of the owner, Countess, has been etched in the stern. Of course it comes with the inventory key. Purchase Price is 10 Silvers. It is available for Pickup from Xanadu, S 15. I can not deliver it, as I do not have the mind logic required to command it. Please PM me if you would like to purchase or make an offer.
