  1. I have a few Items I'd like to sell before I leave wurm... I've enjoyed the game so much, I just don't simply have time anymore. Thanks for being a great community! Please don't tell me that I'm wrong for selling this or that. I'm simply getting rid of the items so they don't go to waste... The money is if I ever decide to come back, and for all the work I put into the game. If you buy, Pick it up or pay COD! (Message for location details) Yellow Potions - Offer a price and pick up on Deli Tools over 70Ql or close (Includes unmarked enchantments on many) - 50c 48QL enchanted steel hatchet - Starting at 1s 70QL rope tool 32Coc, unknown if WoA or not - 60C 28QL Rug 23botd - 80c Gems/Crystals go at 1c per QL Anvil S/L - 70c Leather studded 70ql rare Jacket (Not sure if AoSP is still on it or not... Either way, that does not effect the price.) - 2.5s Chain set 70QL - 1.5s No picture of - Oakenwood Sailboat, Anchor + Lock - 2s Sleep powder x2 - I will sell for 1.5s EACH piece! In other news I'm looking to get my Deed off my hands in hope that a nice owner will take care of it! Its a nice starting place... Though, I'm looking for a price check. I might sell it if you can interest me. Heres a picture of it - And the info section from this date currently (1/17/2014) -
  2. the grave site was already done on celebration, lets add those who we lost that aren't in the site. This idea was already done on Celebration near tap dance. Next step is to add those who aren't currently in it, to it.
  3. Basically, when playing wurm recently i've been having an issue, my laptop totally cuts out (power off and everything instantly) it can sometimes take 2-3 hours of play for this to happen, or can happen 4-5 times in the space of an hour. Don't think its an overheating issue, i keep the fan uncovered and have cleaned it several times recently. I run my client on all the lowest possible settings, the reason i think its something wurm related is because i can watch movies for hours while browsing/ duel-screening with other things with no problems at all. Used to have this issue a while back but it seemed to stop until the last few months, now its really bad, i can expect to crash 3/4 times an hour when out hunting, and its almost a guaranteed thing during PvP (which is a big part of why i enjoy wurm) Not sure if anyone can help/has had similar issues and can give me some advise.
  4. Hello Wurmians! Immediately after addition gravestone to game I noticed it is an inscription in runic writing. I'm interested in scandinavian culture so I easily translated this inscription. I had to share this curio but I was too lazy. Sorry.Let's see what came out. Gravestone in game: And after translate: For interested persons I put runic alphabet. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQRt4QfnowttGYimjIk5gqyR1R32Qe0iL9bHYAiIMsAzTxaW8dL
  5. When devs, just when? its been far to long you have bridges and a crafting system coming what about the textures for the new trees that have already been added?
  6. As many of my friends know, I have this habit of crashing and lagging extremely bad sometimes. At the moment I have this crappy little HP Pavilion Slimline s5503w. Not even sure how it runs wurm tbh. I have about $500 to play with and would like to get a new PC, just the tower would work. What would be a good thing I could buy to stop this lag and crash habit I have?
  7. Hello Good People of Wurm! The City of Albion, of the Desertion Server, on the Epic Island Cluster comes to you for a new important update! After a few weeks of updates not being present from the former city of Ashuria via our old leader, Bashur - I now come to you with new news! The Ashurian Revolution! We, the citizens of Ashuria, have overthrown the old Lord Bashur from his tyrannical rule! Under Bashur's rule, we were forced into doing tasks that were unpleasing simply in order to be appreciated. Much of this included bricks and mortar, but does not exclude other tasks such as terra-forming and tedious tasks. This was obviously very overwhelming for people, especially people new to the game, and it actually scared many of the new recruits away from our favorite game, Wurm Online. After Bashur's leave, his Royal Council followed him out the door. In their place, a new leader was elected. Tedrick, whom is very knowledgeable as well as level headed(a much needed improvement since our previous leader) was chosen in Bashur's place! King Tedrick elected a republic as our government, and under such rule the citizens have a say in everything that is done. Our town's citizens can do anything that interests them, including owning private homes and training skills they are actually interested in!(no more bricks and mortar!) The new council was voted on by the people, and was chosen for their yet again knowledge and honour: The New Albion Council! Under our Lord Tedrick, we have 4 current roles on the Royal Council. These include: MeetyourNaga(known as Naga) as Chaplian - In charge of Priesthood and Priests in AlbionDeletingVirus(known as Virus) as Advisor - In charge of advising the Albion council on veteran knowledge of WurmLei(known as Lei) as Chamberlain - In charge of logistics and organization of bulk and non-bulk itemsJackeylegs(known as Jackey) as Chanceleor - In charge of any Royal functions under Tedrick - second in command. The Wurm Wednesday Update! ~By DeletingVirus, This was last weeks Wurm Wednesday Update, another coming very soon! http://youtu.be/3lM1xV9b56g The Recruitment! If anyone who is reading this is at all interested in Epic, Desertion, Mol Rehan, or the Albion town or community, and looking for more information about us, the kingdom, or joining up, contact the following: Private Messages In Game: Lei, Meetyournaga, SinisterPrime, DeletingVirus, Tedrick On the forums: Lei Contact Via Albion Forums: http://roalbion.enjin.com/home Also Available: Teamspeak! 108.61.25.67:11187 Thank you everyone in Wurm for supporting our cause! Remember, we are no longer associated with Bashur or the Bashurverse due to the recent events. Thankfully we are under free rule, and request all of your support as fellow Wurm players! Thanks for all your interest! The City of Albion, of Mol Rehan Chamberlain Lei~
  8. Hello, My name is Tim. When i started playing Wurm early 2013 I knew straight away "this is the game I want to play"! Since then I have found myself hungry for Wurm IRL. I decided to start a new hobby. Armour smithing. I have been doing it for a half year almost and have crammed my head full of loadsa knowledge on this excellent craft. So THANKYOU Wurm, for inspiring me into an awesome hobby. Here are links to my work so far. It is a 14th Century related Great Helm replica. Comments, questions and critiscism are encouraged. Enjoy =) Many Thanks, Tim
  9. http://www.livestream.com/meyfeigaming Hey all! I'm streaming Final Fantasy X International right now. In case anyone in interested in watching. Currently at the start just reached Besaid Island and will be working from there. Various things will be new game, Grinding, Listening to story (Japanese Vocals, English Subs based on the NA version). and sphere grid completion, Blitzball, and Arena + more and what not. WARNING: My computer does NOT run this 100%, there WILL be some lag, but it's fair enough to enjoy with minor annoyances that will likely make you feel irritated (Digital Audio scratching and such) but it's usually short lived. Feel free to watch and share, as well as post your streams here. Hopefully this section is suitable for my post, Thanks for reading Hope to see you in the stream ;D
  10. "Enchants shattering was tweaked and generalized. Some enchants now have a lot less chance of shatters while failing now always has a very small risk of shattering." I'm not sure why devs decided to change up enchanting/shatters. It wasn't broken. The motivation for most priests skilling up has been to NOT shatter things. That's how skilling should work. Did one of Bashurs new priests shatter an item or something? What this does is as follows. Players buys, or gets a new shiney. New shiney is meaningful to player. Player won't risk the enchant and rightly so. Unenchanted shiney vs old enchanted shiney = larger gap between older and newer player. Prices for tools and weapons with good enchants goes way up. Speaking of, fellow priests.. what should the price point be for enchants now? Players who already have enchanted armour YAY. Players without.. why risk it? Locksmithing becomes more important than the priestly skills? I was understanding when you nerfed archery and lockpicking. I understood the nerf of POL and enchanted grass. I was even cool and silent about the price increase. I haven't used these forums before to complain (that I know about) but for gods sake... Change enchanting/shattering to the way it was before! Reward hard work.
  11. Has anyone else had my problem, I tried to register with 3 different names (and the correct email) but I didn't get the email on any of those, can someone please help me
  12. Hello, I have a unique idea for a website relating to wurm, I'm seeking some experienced players to tap into some of there knowledge of the game, you would be directly contributing to the content of the site. I'm looking for experts in all areas of the game. If you'd like to know more please PM me. -TheKraken
  13. Lets start posting on the steam forums and get wurm on steam. With the game being out for so long and the free to play side of it I believe steam would greatly increase the amount of players.

  15. So, I noticed few people ever streamed or made videos about wurm online through all the years its been out. I'd like to advertise and show this game off to the community and the new people who know nothing about it. I'd like to give people who like watching videos about it, like me, a chance to watch someone play. Overall, I'd like the community to come together with me and make something neat and fun for viewers of all types to watch. Feel free to come see my channel, even though its small. I'd love for some people to say hi, follow, and regularly show up to chat. I'm putting my location details of where I am on deliverance so you guys can come down and help me out, join me, or just say hi to me and the viewers. Please don't judge me too much... Just come, hang out and have a good time while we play Wurm! Join me here! - http://www.twitch.tv/xhawkerx
  16. I think we've all seen a share of messed up things that will probably get you killed if u jump in it, or whatever. Here's another fun one: Sail into this. My apologies for the screenshot was just a quick one i took.
  17. Hi guys, I am getting a crash after logging in and during the first few seconds of play. I am a techno-n00b so whatever help you can give me has to be simple to understand! I have tried unparking the cores (it is a core i5 machine) and rolling back to the java version my desktop uses. 18. *** Let me start by saying that I love the idea of Wurm and that I'm happy that it exists. I also want to say that this is NOT a complaint thread. I'm not venting or rage-quitting or any of that, but I am (hopefully) pointing out a serious flaw in Wurm that keeps it from growing. I realize that people probably won't read or pay attention to this disclaimer, but sometimes you have to charge, even when it's all uphill. *** I am a perpetual Wurm noob. Like a moth, I flutter towards the bugzapper that is Wurm and then flee the terrifying blue light with my head on fire. Sooner or later, I forget the trauma and repeat the whole process. I can't remember when I first started *trying* to play Wurm, but I know have made maybe a dozen attempts. Once I actually bought a deed and built a little farm, but that was on the brand new server that came out a while back and land was pretty easy to find. Here is my typical experience as a noob in Wurm. I go through the tutorial, which is pretty reasonable and covers most of the things you need to know except for the Ph.d. in four-dimensional hyperspatial mathematics you need to level a piece of dirt. At the end you get a rather confusing non-explanation of the server types. Most recently I chose an Epic server (the JK spawn point), because double skill gain means fewer progress bars and more time noodling around having fun (HAH!). I then get teleported into what appears to be a prison exercise yard. Grey walls everywhere! Gates! Bars! There are a few signs advertising lost boats, which adds a charming, nautical air to the surroundings. Is this some kind of pirate prison? I can't tell, there's no one else around. I have consulted the forums for advice as I always do, and one thing I remember is to avoid the roads if you don't want your game-play experience to be a "guy walking along roads simulator", so I consult my noob compass and take a bearing, then I strike off into the unknown! This striking off lasts about a hundred feet, for outside the prison yard is... more walls! As far as I can tell, the first thing people do in Wurm is build walls around everything, and then build walls around those walls. If this was a 3D game I could clamber over them, but alas my feet are firmly nailed to the ground. So I zigzag around plaintively, taking increasingly useless bearings with my noob compass as my path becomes more convoluted. Eventually however, my search is rewarded! I find a tree! a majestic pine stands before me, unclaimed by all and not walled off! I clutch my noob hatchet and begin my epic adventure by chopping down the tree and making logs. Several progress bars later I have made some kindling! I have made a shaft! Encouraged, I set off to discover more walls and I continue my maze-like progress. I begin to wonder if Wurm is some kind of inhuman Scandinavian psychological experiment in operant conditioning. Will I turn a corner and find some cheese? At long last I reach a hill where there are fewer walls and I can occasionally see open space. I climb! I climb towards light and freedom! i climb towards the true sandbox experience of creativity and depth! I get killed by a mountain lion! I respawn! My trusty noob compass is gone forever. I get to keep my other things, but apparently knowing which way North lies is too much power for the likes of me. I try to remember where I died, but at this point my only memory is of walls and fences, locked gates and barred doors. Gamely I set forth in what (I hope) is a different direction, only to be devoured by a spider. I try again! I try again! Eventually however, I remember the old adage, "One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result". Sadly, I turn in my noob tools and disconnect, the scent of scorched wings in my nostrils. I think a few things could be done to make this whole experience less Kafka-esque: * Let me keep my %$@!*& compass! I doubt very seriously that it will hurt the strategic compass economy, since (I presume) better compasses show you North faster than the noob compass. * I think that giving the noob some bandages or healing covers might not cause the game's balance to suddenly implode. I realize that there are valuable lessons to be learned by bleeding to death, but foraging for healing covers that don't work and dying anyway teaches nothing but frustration and annoyance. I feel strongly that it's a mistake to assume that players don't mind dying several dozen times. I find it kind of breaks the immersion, since in all other ways I am a peasant who doesn't know how to make a stick from a branch. * some kind of *current* map, either in game or on the web so that people can at least have some vague notion of where the unwalled parts of Wurm are (if there are any). This should be maintained and kept up to date by the people who have all the information, which would be the company that makes Wurm. There are tons of off the shelf ways to do this without anyone having to write much (if any) code at all, and it's crazy that this isn't being done already. You can only walk aimlessly for so many hours before you start wondering why you're wasting all your free time on a walking simulator. * I realize that many will howl in outrage at this, but I think that noobs should have reduced aggro for at least the first hour or two of play time, so that they can get their bearings without being murdered by random wildlife every five minutes. Notice I say reduced, if you walk right up to a mountain lion you deserve what you get, but if you keep your distance they should leave you alone as you try to figure things out. I realize that many players will suggest that I should have joined a village, but this is not the point of my post. Wurm is not a village simulator, nor is it billed as one. I should, if I take reasonable precautions, be able to go forth and do things without having to spend a month of real time sitting behind a wall making nails for five hours a day. It's not a sandbox if there's only one viable way to play the game. Again, I feel sure that someone will tell me I should have joined a village, so enough said on this topic. In the end it comes down to this: if you feel that new players must *earn* the right to play your game by dint of endless walking, pointless deaths, and existential crises, then keep on keepin' on. If you'd like to attract new players, then you may want to consider making the new player experience more welcoming and less like escaping from a Siberian gulag. Sincerely, Matt
  19. Would it be possible to enable players to use the mouse scroll wheel to activate the "next" or "previous" item in the toolbelt? For instance, if you currently have the item in slot 1 active, scrolling downwards one time would activate the item in slot 2, and vice versa. Ideally scrolling would wrap around, so if you have the item in the leftmost slot active and scrolled up, the rightmost toolbelt slot would now be active. Using the scroll wheel to switch active items is a pretty standard feature in many games from different genres as a complement to the number row. Enabling players to rapidly scroll through every item in their toolbelt would streamline the item switching process and it would in particular make slot 6-10 easier to access, something which is currently somewhat complicated by the fact that it's generally harder to reach the right-most end of the numerical keyboard row.
  20. Worth more than what you people expect.
  21. Hey everyone! I played WURM Online a little while ago, but all of my friends have stopped playing it. I was wondering if anyone else wanted to play WURM with me? If you do, we'll be playing on Deliverance (don't think I needed to say that). I'm currently living on Nightmare Lake in the settlement of Mountain Utopia. If you would like to play, leave a comment, private message me, or contact me on Skype. Skype username: nerdyotter (make sure you make a description for yourself in your contact request.)
  22. I realize that WURM probably isn't the most interesting game to live stream, but I've started doing it anyway. I really enjoy this game! If you'd like to watch here's the link: http://www.twitch.tv/nerdyotter
  23. Me being a rather active scout that likes to run across the inde server, I tend to come across allot of deeds that arent on the current Independence map. And I usually dont mention these in the map-topic because I have no idea if the owner actually likes seeing his (secret/hidden) deed appear on the map for everybody to see. So I started thinking (having bought an android tablet not to long ago), if there are any gifted app-coders here on the forum to make something, that might even benefit allot of players like me who like to scout far and wide and map deeds/places of interest. Just a kind off personal map to have in addition to the official one on the forum, where we can add a few things ourselves not limited to deeds alone. Here's the request, not sure if this is easy to make, but I'll give it a try: The app would show the map of independence (like the one in the mapping topic, or even the empty template if the current map-updater wouldnt mind sharing it). * When I would click on the map with my finger, a yellow square would appear (like the ones currently on the forum map) * Then a window would pop-up, asking me to name the yellow square (the name of the deed goes in here) * Then a second window (more like a notepad kinda thingy) would pop-up, asking me for additional information (where I can enter if there are templars, mailboxes, merchants, traders,...) * A searchbox to type in names so they are highlighted on the map for easy search (comes in handy when you see something disbanding) Thats the core function of the app that I would like to request. An extra function could be: - An option to change the color and the "type" of the yellow square, so perhaps a red square could represent a place of interest (olive forest, blue grape spot, special fishing spot, guardtower, mine, veins,...) Thats what I had in mind with my request and hopefully some skilled app-maker wouldnt mind giving it a try ^^ I hope this was the most fitted place to post the topic, I thought of suggestion-idea forum first, but it seemed a bit out of place XP (my xperia tablet shows Android 4.0.3, so if it could run on that I would be very happy offcourse, not sure how these versions matter much for certain apps) Many thanks in advance ^^
  24. Okay. I think papyrus should have a maker mark, and that mark should be accessible at 20 QL or above. Anything below this QL should not be usable as evidence for anything, such as harrassment, etc. Firstly, Wurm has established that we are responsible for our words. If we use profanity or racial/religious/etc slurs, we can face some sort of administrative punishment. If I'm mistaken please correct me. While I have not seen it yet, I do believe there is potential for misleading information and misidentification. A papyrus with no maker mark can have any information and content on it, and can be used to try to incriminate someone. For example, leaving 5000 papyrus notes on a deed that read: "You Suck. Love, Player X" However, Player X did not write these. Instead it was Player Y, his arch-rival, in order to try to incriminate him, and get administrative punishment due to the paper spam. Having makermarks easily accessible would let us know, not only that it wasn't Player X, but that it was Player Y. I believe this has some effect on diplomatic envoys and advertising to an effect. Though I understand alot of this is done through the Forum, I know I have personally used the papyrus to seek out new markets for my products, simply because not all players use the markets. Thus...MakerMarks/WaterMarks on paper.
