  2. For those of us that miss our old stomping grounds, without further ado I present you with the map files for the Old Elevation, the old central pvp map for Wurm Online's Epic Cluster. Some Notes : The mine systems are not included I regenerated those fresh. Any mine door, I converted to rock. Any diagonal roads, I replaced with dirt, there data values were changed at some point in the past so couldn't salvage those. Requires client modloader This mod transfers messages from arbitrary chat tab(Village chat for example) to Discord channel.. Also there is a way to print the list of online players to Discord. Setup instructions: Install mod following instructions of Ago's Client Mod Launcher Modify the Discord.properties file. This file must contain the discord bot token, the name of discord server and the transfer list. Example: discordTransfers=Village->villagechat;Alliance->alliancechat Messages from village or alliance chats will be transferred to corresponding Discord chat rooms - villagechat and alliancechat respectively 3. The Discord bot must be added to the discord server and have rights to read and write messages to the chat room. 4. Read online manuals of how to get Discord bot token. That seems to be a nice tutorial. 5. Download a java library from here and copy to the directory where WurmLauncher.exe file lies. How to use: In the game console type "discord on". Any messages you get in configured chats will be transferred to discord and vice versa. If someone will type "!who" in the discord chat room - the bot will answer with the list of online players in corresponding chat tab. The timeout is 10 seconds. "discord off" in game console will turn mod off. "discord info" will print out every transfers you configured

  6. Hello everyone! We are aware that not everyone was happy about our recent design change. We were working on improving our kingdom design, but this time we don't want to unexpectedly upload it, we wanted to ask your opinion about it first. We made some major changes to the wagon and tent design but the banners and flag were also changed a little bit. Here's what we came up with: Current design for comparison: Please vote on the poll above if you would like us to change the design, or just leave it as it is. I also wanted to use this opportunity to inform you that there are some wagons and banners on the market which were stolen from us. And no, not stolen in a raid or a pvp battle - that would be fair game. They were made by a person from the enemy kingdom, abusing an alt account. I've met a lot of people that were happy they can support Wurm University in our battles on Chaos, so I think if you want to buy a wagon, you should at least know where your money is going. Because of that, I just want to inform everyone that all the wagons made by a character "Btgringo" or any character other than Aesir are not made by us.   7. OMG guy’s I finally found a hosting service that works perfectly. https://www.hostwinds.com/windows.php The people there are really nice and the server setup was done in less than an hour. I got Windows VPS with 2 gigs of Ram but, they have Linux for you more savvy people. 1 gig of ram will work fine for hosting 1 server but, if you want to link servers you need at least 2. In addition you can do whatever else you want with the server ie web hosting ect. I tried a few others and they were all limited in what I could do. The firewall setup was a bit confusing at first but, if you go with this service message me and I can tell you what ports to open and how.

Custom landmark item that must be conquered, similar to a depot. (can only be conquered 1 time per hour). Gives 4 Horseshoes and a saddle 80-100ql (random rarity normal - fantastic) with 80-100woa. Full quiver of 80-100ql maple arrows with 80-100 fb random tome with 1 charge. 10 random fully vesselled gems 80-100ql. HoTA is every 3 hours. Stats are capped at 50. There are no champion players. There are no meditation perks (-enchant grass which all med paths get at level 1). All karma ability's are disabled (Town Portal and such). Money is made from hunting and lots of game-changing items like drake / scale / and other items can be purchased by right clicking coins which can be withdrawn directly by right clicking your body. Hell Horses spawn throughout the map with 5 speeds, these have special names based off the Greek alphabet to distinguish then from there normal counterparts. Locate soul has been removed. Libila is deity.warrior = true; deity.deathProtector = true; deity.itemProtector = true; deity.befriendCreature = true; Fo is deity.warrior = true; deity.deathProtector = true; deity.itemProtector = true; Basically the only difference between these 2 gods is there name. They both have all spells. Most Misc. mods are just the ones normally added by every server host like no priest restrictions and no crop wilting and such. Onward to the map : Map is Old Elevation, The ore distribution has been regenerated to differ from the public version. Spawn points match the old server exactly. The estimate is based on a simple formula from this page Setup instructions: Install mod following instructions of Ago's Client Mod Launcher How to use: First thing you need to do is to choose a convenient key and bind the command "favor" for that key Now select any number of items in inventory, hover the mouse over the inventory and press the binded key. The mod will show you the favor you will get for that items. To use non default item constant value type the following: Notes: There is a certain constant for each item in the game that directly affects the amount of favor you will get for sacrificing it. For example the cordage rope have the constant value equal to the 1 and the door lock have the value 0.5. So door locks will give you twice less favor than cordage ropes of same quality. By default mod calculates the favor, assuming that the value constant is 1 You can use different value this way The spindles have the value equal to the 0.5, but Vynorians have double favor for wood items so you don't need to change the default value in this situation You can calculate favor not only in your inventory but in other containers too

  14. So basically this suggestion is to create a team dedicated to advertising wurm online through various platforms on the internet : e.g. youtube, FB and so on. Why? Because Wurm needs new players and a lot of us actually would love to see new blood in it. So how would this work? We'll form a team , let's say through discord and start outlining a basic plan to advertise and create ad content we could share on free to use sites. Someone could help by making or creating a compilation of youtube tutorials. Another could find or create stunning pvp encounters and battles. One could help by writing content for various interesting stories that happened/could happen in wurm or even create machinima videos using Wurm Unlimited or WO. Other people make artwork stories or comics about WO stories, servers, events, etc. The team will be community driven, with the sole purpose of generating visibility for Wurm Online. So what do you guys think?
  15. Got bored decided to make a 4K PVP themed map. This map has a terraced low level terrain with a stratum layering. It offers strategy and dynamics for those that wish to use them as well as plenty of flat areas for ease of travel/deeding. There are large steppes and deserts positioned evenly throughout the map and one ginormous HoTA steppe in the center of more than sufficient size to encompass a 400x400 HoTA zone. There is also a desert of approximately the same size as the central steppe just SW. Mountains on the map are tall, but they are not super steep and most can be traversed via horse. The central landmass has no singular choke-points to one area, land based choke-points still exist but there are multiple to most areas.   16. Wouldn't it be a great idea to have your own, or some type of music box in game. The music could be either craft-able pottery discs, or some pop-up menu that pulls from a youtube. (The idea came from a mod on MC where you can post pictures from imgur on your server, and even connect to wurm's IRC inside a MC server (computer-craft...), so if the rather is possible, I know pulling music is too). It would be awesome to throw some sick medieval parties complete with some music. QL could even be based on how long a clip you can play from 1 sec at 1QL to 100 sec at 100 QL or something like that.

  18. Dungeon - A PVP Challenge by Sklotopolis - Round #1 Sklotopolis is going to the next level and introduces a PVP Challenge based server. What's Challenge? Challenge is an old concept in Wurm which was a big success in the first rounds but has been discarded by the Wurm Online developers before Wurm Unlimited was released. We are now trying to take the concept and improve it further. On challenge we will have two kingdoms Horde of the Summoned and Jenn-Kellon fighting against each other on a PVP Map sized 2048x2048 tiles. Dungeon will be the ultimative PVP experience without anyone who has to fear a loss or a long time bad influence on a character. The Dungeon rounds will be limited to exactly one calendar month, which means that each round will start on the first of every month and end on the last of every month. Maybe this doesn't make too much sense for someone who hasn't played on a PVP server, but it fixes PVP in this game in various ways. PVP in Wurm has been broken for almost 6 years now and DEVs have been unable to fix it since then. We have also seen it on different Wurm Unlimited server that there is interest in PVP but the victory of the world is decided within one month and players quit playing on the server. The major problem of PVP is the late game experience which is more than just boring, but with challenge we will never experience a late game PVP experience. The server will run for one calendar month and provides a clean and fresh start for every player. The reset happens every second month and is an automated process which doesn't need any developer interaction. Of course this server will not be grindy at all because of the limited time, action timers will be 20 times faster and skill timers will be 10 times faster compared to the EPIC server of Wurm Online. The Dungeon also has the Epic curve enabled, which provides a huge advantage in skill gain and makes the game much more enjoyable. For example bringing digging to an effective skill of 90 should take no longer than one hour. We also hope that the limited time will make this world about playing, enjoying and having fun in the game instead of PVP drama as we have seen it on Wurm Online. In the first rounds we will collect a lot feedback about the map, all the mods and some other PVP related stuff. We will use almost all mods we also have on our PVE cluster, to make the game more like it was meant to be played in the first place. There will be no real rewards in the first few rounds, but a live score list will be available from beginning, so the competition is real and there will be winners for sure. The world will also have various ressource points deployed all around the map, which will spawn very fancy and valueable stuff. This is where the most PVP interaction will take place, but also a HOTA and some other mechanics to force people into PVP will be given. Dungeon will also be 100% seperated from our PVE cluster, you will only keep the coins on your bank account between the resets. As I have mentioned above this is a try to make PVP more attractive to all players, without ending up with a dead world. We are planning to run at least 6 rounds, depending on the interest we will put more or less development power into the world. If the interest is high enough we will improve the PVP experience in the game , create a pool of maps which will be chosen randomly each month and much more. First round will already start on the 1st March, 2018 around 8 PM UTC and will run until 31st of March, 2018, you need a new character to join and can enter the adventure via a portal on our login server. Round #2 will start on 1st May, 2018. There is always a month break between the rounds to improve the world and dig through the collected feedback. The break will also help to keep the concept interesting hopefully as it is not something which is there all the time. Furthermore I can already proudly present the map of our Dungeon server: This map is inspired by the map Orion created by the awesome map creator @ausimus, which is available for the public in the Wurm Unlimited forums. Who are we? Sklotopolis is one of the most successful and most stable Wurm Unlimited servers out there, we have been up and running since 1st November 2015 and we are still growing and working on this project.   19. 2017 Has been a big year for Wurm, coming off the end of the 1.3 update, we weren't going to rest on our laurels, and had lots of plans and projects in the works, Wide tunnel entrances Before this year, tunnels could only be one tile wide, making those canals and tunnels quite narrow. This change introduced a whole new dynamic, and I've seen some amazing places built around these entrances. this update came early in the year and New wall textures One of the biggest housing updates this game has seen introduced six new wall materials, rounded stone, sandstone, slate, pottery brick, marble brick, and rendered walls. This opened up a lot more options in building, and deeds haven't looked the same since. Coming along slightly later were bridges in the new textures, as well as new floor paving with the materials too! The almanac Ah, the old days of "anyone know what;s in season?" Asked in global chat are no more. With a handy book, players were able to research and know to the exact day which fruits were in harvest and quickly became invaluable to all foresters out there (Mine, a gift from Alikin never leaves my inventory!) This update also saw the introduction of raspberry, blueberry and lingonberry bushes, which finally answers the question about where those berries come from when foraging! (Though the cocoa bean is still a mystery) Wurm cribs, underground edition In June, bridges were taken to the next level with major underground changes allowing bridges to be built in caves! That's not all though, this year saw the ability to clad reinforced walls and pave tiles underground, taking subterranean decorating to new highs (or is that lows?) The new client Long in the works, the unstable client finally launched as the full stable client, and Wurm has never looked better. With improved shading, lighting, options for improved performance and many other effects and changes, this client modernised Wurm in a way that lets us work towards the future in ways we had only hoped to see, and we're only just beginning... The highway system Getting lost got a lot harder with the introduction of the new highway system, stage 1 of the wagoner update. With players connecting deeds all over the server, a vast network began to form. Today you can find your path to any deed connected, regardless of distance (though I sometimes like to go off road for old times sake!) Random Enkounters One of the most fun additions this year has been Enki's random Enkounters, appearing across the Wurm world at random, pestering anyone in local with answers for his crossword puzzles, and rewarding the stunned players with random gifts. It's been a very entertaining addition and I'm keen on seeing more of it in 2018 (One day I might even get a turn!) Racks on racks on racks This year also saw ways to improve storage and inventory, with the small barrel rack, amphora rack, and wine barrel rack coming in 1.3, discussion started to move towards what else could be shoved in a rack. this brought about the crate rack, rack for empty bsbs, and the almighty bulk container unit. Despite storage space necessary in warehouses dropping massively, most wurmians just wound up stocking more in that space, you can never win... 1.6 The biggest update of the year landed early November, with the introduction of the wagoner, using the new highway system to deliver bulk goods and chat incessantly. Archaeology and restoration Adding not one, but two new skills to the game, this update brought in a way to find out more info about old deeds in your area, and find cool new statues and items too. Archaeology allowed players to explore their lands, and find who came before them, and how long they were around for (I've found several deeds founded at the launch of independence) with restoration focusing on piecing the fragments found back together, adding random enchants and runes if lucky! Epic proportions Epic also received major changes with this update, increasing skill-gain and faster actions, as well as skills transferring to freedom and vice versa, this really opened epic up came with the major Valrei overhaul, removing player gods from the board, adding awesome god fights, and rebuilding the mission system from the ground up The dust from 1.6 is still settling, and the new year will doubtless come with some tweaks and adjustments, but these additions have all been massive in their own individual right, adding them all in one update was a huge undertaking, and a lot of fun to see launch. Saddle(bag) up! Finishing up the year is one of the longest running suggestions, saddlebags! And not only that, the awesome saddle sacks as Christmas gifts came in too, meaning you can store things on your horse in style! And more... There's been a huge host of miscellaneous changes, including: blessed lamp functionality on highways. Unicorn gear. Hell horse colours. Siege weapon overhaul. Mining random slopes are now reduced by skills. Shrinking of olive and chestnut trees. Epic structures being freely built on freedom. Competition for three new tapestries (all awesome). Pendulums now find traitors. It's been a big year, and we've got even bigger plans for 2018, with work continuing on animal crates, returning wood textures, and lots lots more. Until then though, have a safe and happy new years, don't drink and drive carts, and as always, keep on Wurming! Retrograde & the Wurm team.

    Am I the only one who thinks that the game could make some use of a new installer, checking for already installed copies of java and offering to install the required version as default or local copy to support just the game if the player decides... Why am I asking? Most if not all browsers stopped supporting java for various reasons, leaving some people with certain problems when they try to install and play the game. This is what reminded me of the situation...

  23. I've asked around a bit, and I haven't spoken to many people who actually want to change the Epic skillgain system in the upcoming update. Most of the changes being implemented sound good, and I expect will bring some life to the server (already have, in fact!), but I don't recall anyone in the past requesting even quicker skillgain than we already have. And I definitely didn't hear anyone requesting this new system that completely changes how skills are gained; where actions give skill, rather than skill relying on timers. Remember, Epic already has increased skillgain (2x) and the curve to assist new players in starting the game. It has been demonstrated before that you can be completely PvP ready in under a month of gameplay! In my opinion it just makes a legitimate server cluster seem more gimmicky, like Challenge.

We are looking for more to play and build along with us! Currently we offer these mods that help with game play. boatmod - can lead animals on water with a boat, and they will not drown. bounty mod - set higher bounties for mobs (good for gaining coin) cropmods- crops will not spoil, and harvesting is better dig like mining- dirt is placed on ground, if on foot, and in boat if on boat. increased merchant items portals! prospect mod sacrifice mod salve mod - shows how potent a healing cover is spell mod - unrestricts priests to be able to cast all spells and craft anything, and pray as often as they like.   25. Hi, when I launch Wurm Unlimited from Steam, it says running for maybe a second or two and then stops. I am unable to find any error logs of the sort described in other posts about crashes. I see in other posts that a common solution is to turn of VBO in the settings, but I presume I have to run the clients to be able to change that. Anyone have any suggestions?
