  1. South Harmony, very nice place -
  2. For those wanting to travel more and longer travels but do not because of time/lag, it could be great to be able to point A from point B by paying wagoner. ❤️
  3. This is a warning for any player planning to travel the northeast section of the Inner Sea via the Darkenstone Canal and Samling Fjord. The section of water between Rufflehome and Pest Harbour is obstructed for deep draft ships by an abandoned causeway project that was attempting to join the large island in the northeast arm of the Inner Sea with the island just east of Rufflehome ( 33x, 22y). It is possible for shallow draft boats (rowboats and sailboats) to pass over this underwater causeway, larger boats will get bogged down. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1j3vu0SLTOuMl7q9SIqHVLKfqZvKkBR9z To travel north or south through this region, take the Pickle Island canal that passes between the islands that were once Pickle Island. For more details, consult the Albia Roads Map of Indy in this forum for details of the area. Skyefox & Hughmongus Co-cartographers of the Albia Roads Map of Indy
  4. I'm sure that I am not the only one who has thought this, and probably not the first or last to post it here. But can we please have interactive maps? It makes it so much easier to tell where you are and where you are going. If you want to get realistic with it. Then make the maps so they have to be made and only fill in when you visit those areas, but please have the maps he interactive!
  5. Hi, I've been playing for almost 17 months, more than half that time was spent building highways, tunnels and bridges to open up the south and link it to starter towns. The newest addition to this big project is the only deep canal in center south Xanadu, which lets you sail through with Caravels, Corbitas and the like. It is named The Big Girl's Canal, in no way to make fun of the more voluptuous ladies out there but because I've always found it funny than men often refers to their boats, cars and other possessions as ''She'', since the canal is meant for the bigger boats, it's become the Big Girl's Canal. When I arrived where I live and have been living since I started playing, Pit Stop Slowmo, some players had already started to dig up a shallow canal but they seemed to have given up once they hit rock and found out how much surface mining would need to be done, so when I was still a noob I had decided that I would finish it up and later figured it should be a deep canal for bigger boats as the only to come here with a Caravel was all the way west through Sweet Island. It is now opened and passable with large boats and I have developed a serious disgust towards dredging hehe. i have added some images that shows it's location as well as other parts of the southern project. While I was working on new bridges across the water here and this canal, Sgtscum, a neighbor worked on a highway of his own to link to my bridges and highway to Lormere. So i've included his work in an image, the tracing of his road is approximate but gives a good idea. Making the highway, linked to mine and then to Lormere a whopping 2442 tiles long. I hope all this will eventually become useful to other players, enjoy and have fun :).
  6. So this person from Epic came over today and was looking to purchase a boat. I was willing to just give him one, if only he could make his way to Celebration. Having no means of transportation, he wondered why there weren't any portals and ferries to cross servers. This made me wonder the same thing. Here's my suggestion. A new NPC (Like wagoneers) that do regular ferries from one port to another. This port should be static, with no more than one per server, and only travel through natural borders (no course plotting). They should be slow, and ferry players from one server to its destination. The idea is to provide an inneficient, but sure means to cross servers, even if you don't have a boat to cross them with. What would the route be? Look at your world map. The routes are already listed there. The boat departs from a close point to the destination server, and move from there in a continuous schedule. Schedules could be listed at the port for ferries moving back and forth. How do players book a trip? There could be a fee involved, or it could be free. This is up to the developers. The player goes to the assigned point at an assigned time, and boards the ferry much the same way as one boards a ship. The ferry then carries you over upon its departure taking the predetermined route. The player would remain on the ferry until they wish to disembark much as one does with a normal ship. For those routes that visit more than one server (Inedpendence > Xanadu > Deliverance > Independence) the player can remain on board the ferry until it reaches the desired destination. Wouldn't this make boats obsolete? No. For one, you can't just go wherever you want. The ferry has a specific route, and you cant deviate from it. Also, it should be slower than a rowboat, making it impractical for travel. It also does not travel within the server. How does this help anyone? New players, or people who just don't have a boat (returning players, someone who dies and looses everything, people wanting to go to Chaos without risking their boat) can move freely across servers without using the rather silly log off - recover stamina trick. This will reduce business from player ferrymen! When was the last time you saw someone offering this service, and how reliable was it? Besides, player ferries will still be much more efficient, as they are faster, and move you between points of your choice. Think of it as using mass transit vs Uber. Thoughts?
  7. I've been thinking about other spells or enchants I'd like to see in Wurm - but that'd also call for new Gods under the Deity system - and rather than introduce a whole NEW sorcery system - why not look to Alchemy? Revisiting the Alchemy system to enchant items - i.e. affinities when worn, or effects like 'glow' to provide luminance at night when an alchemical potion is applied to the item. Potions that can imbue items or players with travel/teleportation - i.e. use a potion give a pair of shoes or ring the ability to recall a player back to their deed or a designated location up to 3x (or if the potion is of high enough QL make it a permanent enchantment to the item) or a potion to teleport a specific item or object (i.e. 'Send this item/object to my deed token.) Offensive potions to 'throw' at targets Slow decay on items - or even speed it up on others. Just an idea. I'm curious to know what other think or suggestions they have.

  9. Starting Bid: 8s Min Increase: 50c Reserve: None Buyout: None Horse too slow? Land travel got you down? Put some pep in your horse's step! These shoes are guaranteed to speed! Get ready, set, place your bids!
  10. Starting Bid: 9s Min Increase: 1s Reserve: 12s Buyout: None [18:31:47] These are said to bring luck! Apart from improving horse speed and safety, of course. This is a supreme example of the item, with fine details and slick design. It is glowing from the heat. You will want to polish the horse shoe with a pelt before you improve it.
  11. I feel like it would be a lot easier to find one's way around, and not get lost, if we had the option to name roads. No one really wants to put up multiple signs at every crossroads and the ability to simply name a road would be so helpful. "Oh your in the Howl and need to get to Freedom market? Just head north." Sure something like that works but a newbie, myself included, can get lost if they have to go somewhere like the Grand Steppe for the first time or need to find a specific deed somewhere without major landmarks nearby. And it's not like I'm advocating for naming every road tile, just the first/last tile that connects to a crossroad, that way players aren't left wandering around for hours, always close to their destination, but unable to actually figure out which of the 20+ dead end roads to take... Am I the only one that is always getting lost unless I already know every twist and turn to take? Some people might say it's part of the fun of exploring, but getting lost and exploring are two different things. I've died multiple times because I've gotten turned around or confused about which road to take to get home. Just a thought I felt like sharing is all, feel free to agree or disagree though.
  12. Not asking for magic here, or summon stones... but a slightly less drab way of travelling. People are rejecting business because of it, neglecting deeds, etc. Just a simple, non instant, but versatile NPC controlled (scheduled every 6 hours or something) air or sea based vehicle that operates like a train. You get there in time, get on the right one, and it auto pilots up to 10 people to the next stop. Sailing is almost a joke, and so is the wind and the fact that I only had enough karma for one town portal summon after 4+ years of playing Use it, don't use it *shrug*
  13. You heard that right deli, I'm back! Last time I set foot on you was in 2013 and here I am again! Returned to wreak havoc as Orias The Deranged only could! Alright well maybe not havoc, build up a little off deed place, pester the usual oldies I know. Probably do some masonry work for a person or two. You know the usual. Might start up the delivery service from a ways back. Who knows eh? So who're the main blade and tool smiths now in case I need to start ordering stuff to get going... I'm a sucker for good tools... I only ever bought my tools from Nicrolis in the past, so who's who and what's what?
  14. A new item under the baking skill: Using nuts on dough turns it into waybread dough (30 baking minimum). Waybread dough bakes into 0.3 weight of waybread. Waybread does not decay in the inventory; it fills the hunger bar quickly when eaten, and slightly drains the thirst and nutrition bars. 0.6 QL1 waybread would fill the hunger bar by 100%, drain the thirst bar by 80% and reduce nutrition by 40% 0.05 QL100 waybread would fill the hunger bar by 100%, drain the thirst bar by 20% and reduce nutrition by 5% (Yes, the thirst drain increases with QL as does nutrition loss, however this is offset by the amount needed for a full feed) Waybread NEVER raises nutrition.
  15. Would like to see an option on Carts, Boats, Wagons Ect.. to tie off Animals your leading. For example You driving your Large cart you roll up to a wild Bull your bust out a rope a lead it. PLEASE add an option to then right click your Large cart and have an option to tie off animal. This way you can drive off it follow you just as if you was leading it. But You can dismount and remound with out having to re lead animals we all know this is annoying. Please add this to the next update. Mechanics would be when your commanding something Select a Rope > Right click animal > Lead options > Lead Then right whatever your commanding at the time Tie off lead. The lead cap will still be only 4 animal's. This option is only available to Tents where people can tie off a horse to a tebt so no one steals it or it runs off. Coordinate this mechanics to vehicles. This will keep it where we can only lead 4 animals still.
  16. Gather up, people! I will tell you a story about travels and adventures, lands and seas, priests and monsters! The Story of Epic Priesthood began few days ago, when my beloved wife Sein took our sail boat and travelled to see the volcanoes, on the west part of our continent Serenity... I was busy with something in the village, so she went alone. That day a thick mist fell down... In that mist, Sein travelled too far to the south, and even reached the South Harbour on Serenity. Due to bad weather, she passed along the volcanoes and didn't see them at all, thinking she is still somewhere near the north-western shores. When she realized she is lost and very far from home ( and then she realized she forgot to take food with her ), she cried of help, and I rushed to find her. I grabbed my best armor and weapons, took a small rowing boat, and sailed to one of the harbours on the western shore of our continent to meet Sein. While I was waiting for her, I tried to entertain myself as I could - lighted a few fires, killed few beasts, tamed a brown bear. You know, it's an old russian tradition you know - taming bears while you wait for someone. They are great company when you are bored! About an hour later, when Sein returned, we hid the sailboat near the western shore, and travelled back home. But that's only the half of the story... Next day I fell asleep after the hard work in the village. And Sein decided to go back to the sailboat and check if it's still there... Somehow, she managed to miss all the local monsters, and arrived to the boat. Then she thought 'Why not to try to reach Elevation?'.. Really, why not? So she sailed off the coast to the ocean, in a small sailboat, heading in unknown direction to the lands she never seen... After some time in the endless ocean, she finally saw the far shore of the other continent... It was Elevation! There Sein remembered my story about the Altar of Three Gods, located somewhere in the northern regions. And she thought 'Why not to try to become a priest?'.. Really, why not? It was a late evening, on the unknown shore of the unfamiliar Epic PvP continent... The best time for taking a trip and doing something new, yeah. So she saw a long white ray, coming from the ground up to the sky... Then she sailed there all night, along the wild Elevation shoreline. Hungry bears and sharks were swimming around all night... In the morning, when Sein got closer to the light ray location, she saw TONS OF MONSTERS roaming the shores of the northern peninsula... They all gathered around the Altar, looked like they are guarding it from unwary travellers... Trolls, demons, bears, hellhounds, goblins, spiders - almost all kinds of monsters gathered there. Sein tried to climb out of water to look around, but the shore was too steep... Luckily, there were lots of lost horses swimming around that area... And somehow Sein didn't think about what happened to their previous owners. She thought "Yay! Free horses!!!" So she caught one of the horses, mounted it and climber out of water. Then Sein waited for the best moment, when some monsters move aside, and swiftly rushed to the Altar! Unfortunately, (or luckily) only ONE hellhound noticed her... And chased her of course... Sein was wearing only thin leather armor, so by the time she reached the Altar - her horse was already dead, and Sein had some serious wounds... She quickly activated the Altar of Three... and some inscriptions started to pop up, with some questions, warnings, etc. At the same time the hellhound continued to chew her... tearing her armor and body apart... Boosted by fear and adrenaline rush, Sein clicked everything she could click! Then the Red Tunnel came, and Sein died. A great luck - she managed to choose the correct resurrection point, and appeared in our village, back on Serenity. Naked, frozen and hungry of course... Everything she had was left far behind on the Elevation, near the Altar - like it was a sacrifice to the Gods - a price to become a Priest. By that moment I woke up, and came to see what happened - her cries could wake up the dead... Sein said: 'I think I just became a priest... i'm not sure though...' So I told her to check her Favor - and yep, she had more Favor than a common Follower could ever have! Somehow in the very last moment of her life - she clicked the last window and completed the Ritual.
  17. Please allow us to sleep on any boat larger than a Corbita Any of you who have travelled know that it is often breeze on the ocean. You also know that it takes a while to get to your destination sometimes. Even when u get to your destination there isnt always a bed waiting for you... These boats are huge and they surely would have a cabin to sleep in. We should have the ability to sleep in any of the large boats that would have a cabin. Thank you Edit: maybe it would best to give it to corbita, cog, caravel.. car doesnt really have sleeping quarters.(could sleep under a tarp on deck but still) Also that would give more value to the undervalued boats.
  18. Good day, people of Xanadu! The members of The Opelika Alliance bring you new from East of Summerholt! As residents of the area know, east of Summerholt has been very hard to traverse both because many people do not know the way, but also because of poor roads. So our alliance has found solutions for both of these complications. Since the first of the year, The Opelika Alliance has been hard at work forging new roads, new friendships, and writing new maps through the valleys east of Summerholt. The major part of this project has been the task of cutting a new road through the hillsides, both litter ally and figuratively. We call this road "The Summerholt Road". The highway travels through the hills, begining at the Starter City of Summerholt. The road ends at my personal deed, Vynora's Harborage, one of the central deed of the Opelika Alliance's coastline, and just a short jump away from the alliance capital at Opelika. Along side this road, the cartographers of The Opelika Alliance have scribed throughout the nights to produce a map for the people of Wurm. This map includes not only the Summerholt Road, but existing roads and even side roads not fit to be highways but are indeed there on the land of Wurm. So with this, The Opelika Alliance is proud to present this map! And with that The Alliance of Opelika wishes all of you safe and fast travels, on our roads and others! Yours truly,
  19. Im looking for a free ride from Xanadu to Deli leaving in next few days. Hoping to meet happy sailor/trader with future deals.
  20. As I said in another post. being ported back to deli from xanadu is unrealistic and added pain to travelling cross servers for many people. Even though it does effect me to much I can see where It can pain alot of people. I suggest we have a portal window not unlike the portals at the tutorial area, that we can choice to put us on the server of choice 1-4 (freedom old cluster) Crossing from the old cluster is fair enough in how it works, but going the other way adds an extra leg that really doesn't need to be there. I know a portal window popup isnt ideal, but it's a good remedy to the current situation.
  21. Just to be clear, I am serious and think these would be cool. I'm purposely not going into lots of detail. I think details are a waste of time because Developers always put their own "details-twist" on things anyway. The cloud express (a flying train) We players would build special types of floating "roads". Once complete we'd use them with a special vehicle to afk-auto travel on a path we plot. Since bridges are going to let us walk underneath them it should be possible to put structures up in the air that don't impede ground travel. A Wormhole (a twist on a portal) The basic idea here is a network of nodes that server as origin and destination. There wouldn't be a actual roads between each node. Each node would be associated with a deed after players build one. A deed would have the permissions to control who can use it as origin or destination. Travel time would not be instant. Plot a sailing coarse. A way to afk sail from point a to point b afk. Plot a cart/wagon travel coase. A way to afk drive a network of roads plotted by the player. Oh yea, ... flame on realistic hardship members.
  22. I had an idea on a way for faster and more efficient server travel in the past and wanted to share it with you because i know they are talking about server placement. My idea is to have all the server boarders connect to any server you want. So lets say i sail to the Celebration eastern server boarder i would get a pop up asking me where i wanted to go i could pick any server on the cluster from a drop down. Now being i went to the east server boarder i would end up on west side of the server i picked. The same would go for if i went say to the south of my server i would end up on the north of the server i picked. Doing this you will always be no more than one servers length away from anywhere. This would also make adding in any new servers very easy because it does not matter where they are placed you just add them to the selection list. If you wanted to expand on the idea you could have it so boats have a destination selection. Say i set my boat on Celebration to Exodus now ever time i go to the Celebration boarder it would not get the popup window it would just automatically take me to exodus. Then on exodus i could set it to Celebration this would mean i could sail back and forth to and from there and never get any popups ever again. (Even just setting the boat before you get to the server crossing would still allow for a seamless no popup crossing to your destination and we all know you have plenty of time to set this while you sail, lol) Not sure how well it would go over but it is an efficient way of dealing the travel and it would allow for adding in more servers easy and without making a chain of 5-6 servers to get to the place you need.
  23. Set vehicle orientation to either: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, northwest. This makes it easier to afk travel and is an advantage. We could balance this by requiring mind logic skills to use it. If a player has the skill and is willing to accept the risk there is no reason we shouldn't let someone afk travel. I predict certain people will reply here with their normal response of telling others how to play. I simply remind you folks that you have the option of ping-ponging between "a" and "d" keys if you want.
  24. Not too long ago I mapped a few-square-kilometers area of land that my Alliance inhabits, and in the process I stumbled upon unfinished highways that were consistent with the community map. Since then I've been periodically editing portions of the Community Map that are outdated; including highways, deeds, mailboxes and guard tower icons, and continually submit the changes to be included in the Independence Map. What I propose is more involvement from the community itself. I know many people do not vouch for the community map, and use the dump instead, however it would still be nice to have a more accurate travel system, especially for new players. Not only is this about proper mapping, but this is also about proper highway creations and road systems. In my mapping and editing I've seen many areas where highways twist around through the woods and take travelers a good half kilometer to a kilometer out of their way just to connect them to another highway stretch that is random or unfinished/decayed. With GM approval of course, we could start fixing up these unnecessary highway segments and finishing existing ones or even creating new ones that could replace the old ones. This is a simple, yet useful community project for anyone who is interested in helping out. Mapping and highway restructuring projects are both listed here, however highway reconstruction appears to be more prominent and useful at the moment. Help Wraithglow by documenting your regions as accurately as possible; making note of which highways, mailboxes, guard towers, and merchants are no longer in existence or have been added as new additions. Copying the community map and making the necessary adjustments in color and uploading the finished image seems to work much better than a text explanation of where things are or are-not anymore. Also keep in mind that only your own deed will be added to the map if requested, and not the deeds of others. Along your travels, take note of any highways that are unfinished or unnecessarily routed in odd ways, and proceed to finish them or correct them, or ask people in the area if they'd like to help out. If you find an extensive, important, or complicated highway that you'd like to work on, please message a GM first for approval. Please DO NOT start working on a highway and leave the project unfinished. Make sure you speak to your neighbors in the area before you start a building project that could interfere with their plot of land or deed. I find that most neighbors are alright with some new tidy roads if you just ask nicely! Thank you for your interest in this project; happy paving!
  25. I wanted to publish my traveling map now, because im missing the good old road maps of Indy. Listed are deeds with roads and highways.
