  4. Your basic Trader Deed, right by Lotus Landing, easy access to SS and the sea. You need your own toon, my guy is not premium and I am probably going to sell him separately. I will also throw in a large cart and a wagon, there are several 4 speed horses there as well, and a small collection of mats. Plenty of iron and slate underground, but no mine developed yet.
  5. Recently, I purchased a trader contract that I wanted to place at my deed. Located at the northern coastal edge of release and knowing only of one other trader nearby me further than 63 tiles away, I thought I was in the clear to place my trader. However, when I tried to place my trader, I get the message that it's too close to another trader at shop "Trader_Trader". It seems odd to me that someone would name their building "Trader_Trader" so I was thinking that this is a trader where the building that the trader could have been in has already deteriorated. How long does a trader stay if the building is now gone? Does the trader stay if the deed is also disbanded from upkeep? What if the player who placed it stopped playing, does the trader still stay? I'm basically out 50s for purchasing the trader contract that I cannot now use so I'm trying to understand all of this before deciding if I should hold onto it or sell it on the forums here.

I am making a new post because this is not about a suggestion on how to change them but about the actual poll and the traders as they currently work. Does anyone have a screen shot of the poll? Is it for premium players or just Xanadu mayors? (I know that it is not f2p i logged on my alt and there was nothing)

  10. It was brought to my attention that the "gathering/rare coin" redistribution system was syphoning off the traders side of the redistribution pool and that seems like a bug to me. If not then i am here to make the suggestion that each redistribution system have a separate share in the pool that the other systems can not touch. My idea on how this system should work.. i will use 33% as a base on each system since there are currently three options of redistributing of the coins. Lets say we get 33 gold coins into the system in this example to keep it simple. 11g goes into the "sell share" (once used it no longer buys.. seems to be working) 11g goes into the "trader share" (never technically runs out but it divides its share among all the good ratio traders each cycle) 11g goes into the "gathering/rare coins" (this one should run out too but seems it is not and is taking from the traders share according to a kingdom skill..see link below) I don't have access to know what the kingdom skill shows but what they were saying about the rare coins dipping into the traders side of the pool seems like a bug to me and needs fixed/changed but others would argue that i am sure.   11. When I saw the poll asking for my opinion about introducing traders on Xanadu I had the same feeling as if a friend asked me if he should start smoking again. Why would you even ask that? The old trader system is flawed and lazy. The idea is good since silver need to come from somewhere but old trader system is just so lazy. I have a suggestion how to make it more interactive by modifying already existing game features. Instead of finding coins when you forage and botanize you find new kinds of rare herbs, amber, truffels and other luxury items, they can have a nice model and be used as component for decoration items but their main use is to create a trade good item that you sell to a trader for a combined value of up to a silver depending on quality. Butchering critters would also come with a chance to drop rare items and trophies that can be used to create decoration items or combined to create a trade good item and sold to a trader. Instead of finding coins on the ground or when you kill a spider you find trade good components that can be sold to a trader for similar value to the coins that we find today. To make it more interesting the player who buy and place a trader profit only when trade goods is sold to his trader. You will then have traders bidding for trade goods to buy from players who are hunting or foraging and might even supply newbies to hunt and forage exclusively for him because it will make his trader create more profit for him instead of other traders. With a few more additions it can create a fun market alternative to pvp where you would have strong trade guilds and alliances fighting for market shares on Freedom instead of through war. It would also be a nice addition to player made dungeons that I suggested earlier. A good trade guild needs to have good dungeons to hunt trinkets and trophies in so it will add to creativity and make Wurm PVE more fun to play. Short version Instead of forage or hunt for coins you forage and hunt for trade goods components that can be combined and sold to traders for similar value. Trade goods can also be used to create trophies and decorative items. Owner of trader earn his coins when players sell trade goods to his trader. Trader proposal: Works the same way with draining and everything but with some changes 1: Traders need a contract like a merchant so you can regulate premium payouts. the contract holder needs to be premium to earn any money from the pool when the envoy pays f2p players still have the sell, rare coins along with the trader draining from public set traders so they can still earn see #3 below Edit: Only one trader contract per player (they can carry more contracts but only have one active/set trader earning coins globally across all the servers) 2: Cap the funds so that the player holding the contract can not get more then the cost of their premium back every month. (Rolfs choice on the amount and how that all works but needs to be less than 10s) 3: Anyone can drain the funds out of a trader but the contract holder needs to be premium for the envoy of the king to leave any money on the trader when they show up. (this way players can lock them away and get all the money for themselves or make it public to bring in new players to their markets or deeds) 4: Starter deeds will have premium holders and Rolf can even make them a higher payout if he likes but with the rare coins and the sell feature i don't see a need...up to him. 5: Traders can be packed up and moved like a merchant. they do not earn anything while packed up and the player made items get deleted when they are packed up to be moved. contracts can be traded and sold like merchant contracts abandoned traders can be packed up by players and returned to the contract holder Edit: Any coins left on the trader when it is packed up automatically goes into the bank of the contract holder 6: Any tax still goes to the deed you have the trader set or the deed the contract holder is a member of that sets the trader. 7: Since the contract holder has to be premium to get any money from the envoy then you no longer need the 64 tile restriction making the land grab issues no longer a problem. (you can have as many on a deed you like since the contract holder has to be premium to earn and the trader earns less then the premium they cost)

It's been said that now people can plant them on Xanadu I just want full clarification on whether these Traders have been pumping out coins from deed upkeep and purchases to those who have set them up. It would be nice to get Official Word and a statement regarding Traders on Xanadu.
  14. Time as come for me to move on again so i am putting this deed up for sale. It has been a nice one to build and is in a very unusual spot on a large island on Pristine. It has water on three sides and a dock on two ends. It has a boat cave and loads of tunnels you can get from one end of the deed to the other through the mine. It's situated in Deli (44x 17y) , a little walk from the shore. It has no guards, upkeep is 1,42s and is paid for 236 days. I am thinking about moving to Independance i have not lived there since Deliverance opened up so if you have a trader deed and are wanting to sell send me a pm here on the forums with your asking price and some screenshots along with the location. I would want a secluded area i like it where there is no one in my local and prefer spots where no one can really move in next to me. I doubt i will find anything this way but i will for sure have a look at what you have. I am not looking to pay a lot since i could just set up my own if it was to much. Edit: Waterfront preferred but will look at others too. Closed: I don't think i am going to find what i want this way so closing this now.
  17. Well it has been awhile now and as we all know the traders seem to have taken a nerf so should we allow them on Xanadu now since they seem to be more balanced? I think it might be a good way to inject some quick cash into the game and Rolfs pocket...what do you think?

  19. i deeded it sometimes in winter of 2012 iirc, the trader still makes enough to pay the upkeep so im not desperate to sell. x26 y26 on the community map deed is non-democracy. on deed trader. mailbox 96 power. 99 ql silver vein made with a wand. 2 90+ iron veins. tons of lower ql iron veins. wooden altar of vynora next to token. on deed obelisk named mantra testimonial. prospero seems to be just in center of the server, you can grow both kinds of grapes on the same deed.   20. After Long debate my friend and I are going to sell off our Celebration Trader deed. This was our first starter deed. We have since then moved on and have been keeping it in case we decided to move back. But it is getting to be too much for us since traveling back and forth is just too long. \ It is located on the west coast on a island called Median isle. The name of the deed is Sands of Time coords are y25, x4 There is 5s left in the coffers and 1s upkeep, refer to the pics for exact details of how much time is remaining on the deed. Two rooms on the first floor which I was using as a forge room and a kitchen room, as well as an open middle section of the house. Two bedrooms on the second floor, two guest rooms on the 3rd floor and a climbing tower so you can view the whole deed from the top of the tower. (most of the pics of the deed came from the top of the tower) There is various lg chests, bsb's, fsb's, Forges, carts, ect. Also I am leaving a black horse named Raincopper, [15:56:35] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has a strong body. It has lightning movement. It can carry more than average. It has very strong leg muscles. There is 22 enchanted grass in a open pen on deed and a few more enchanted grass just off deed in pens that can be expanded to put back on deed if needed. There is 2 gold altars one of mag 40 ql and one of vyn 38 ql and a wood altar of fo 27ql another altar in stone in the mine of mag. The Mine on deed is an open mine, that is reenforced around most of the edges of the deed. there is 6 iron veins 4 of them good ql which is about 60-79 ql the rest lesser ql and 11 silver veins 2 of them utmost ql which is about 95-99 ql the rest of lesser ql. There is also a mailbox with a 87 courtier cast on it. There is one house off deed as shown in the pics above. This deed can be expanded back to its original size and there is room to expand even more if need be. some off deed fencing has started decaying but a lot of them are still there in case you wanted to expand back to the original size. accepting offers for this deed, considering there is a trader I will not accept offers under 25s.   22. I'm not playing enough to look after one deed, let alone spares, so I'd like to sell off my trader deed to someone who'll actually maintain it. The deed is Aizawa, located at X19 Y36 on the community map: The deed is 21x23, for a minimum upkeep of 1s/month. It has about 1.5 months of upkeep on it currently. There's a guard tower on-deed and a mine (containing lots of silver - at least 1 utmost vein down there somewhere). The deed comes with a no-delete holder (not currently premium), who has PoK4 get info. The deed comes with some random BSBs and stuff - nothing exciting, just the usual bulk that accumulates. The location is nice, with mountains behind and looking out over Mercury Lake. The deed doesn't actually extend to the water, but could easily be resized to do so. There has been some minimal terraforming, to get the highway through and 2 buildings up - there's a forge/house/workshop and a 3x3 trader home. The local area has a number of decent neighbours, including me just up the road. If you wanted to turn this into a main deed, there's loads of potential. I'm looking for 25s for everything, including deed, holder and all writs, plus whatever's on the deed. I'll throw in some rings of varying quality to use as trader bait, too.
  23. I guess i am just wondering if the whole trader system is done or if my way of doing things is just not working. I had a player pm me just this morning asking me my opinion on the trader situation with the bad payouts and wondered if he should get one for his new place or not. It got me to thinking why there has not been anyone here complaining about the low payouts. Are we just accepting that the trader days are over or is there a new way of doing things that is this giant secret again? Is anyone seeing any larger numbers and if so what is the deal? I have seen talk about populated areas doing well but what classifies as a populated area? Is it just a place with lots of deeds or is it an area with lots of players around?
